Voting for the Golden Joystick Awards has officially opened and we couldn’t be happier to be part of it!
To cast your vote, all you have to do is follow the link here and then click the big orange “Start Voting” button! We’d recommend reading the article first to find out a bit more about the Golden Joystick Awards and which categories there are before casting your all important vote. Voting closes at 19:00 ET (16:00 PT, 23:00 GMT) on Friday November 1st, so make sure you have your say before then!
Once you’ve cast your votes, all you need to do is wait with bated breath for the big awards ceremony. The ceremony will be hosted at the De Vere Connaught Rooms in London on November 21st, but you can also watch them live online on the official Golden Joystick Awards Twitch channel.

Update #1: One New Weapon & One New Ability Unlocked
We’re standing outside your window, holding up this update, hoping you’ll take us back…
You might be too young to get that reference, but we’re hoping you’re not too young to know what a boombox is, because we’ve added one to Robobeat as part of our first big content update!
We’ve prepared some shiny new instruments for you to use to robo-beat your enemies into oblivion, so read on to find out more about them.
The Shield
We heard you like parrying, so we’ve added parry combos to your parry so you can parry combo while you parry.
The Shield is a new weapon that places more of a focus on combos rather than direct damage. Normal hits with the Shield will do a small amount of melee damage with a very short range, but the combos are where this weapon really shines.
You’ll have the choice of 3 different parry-focused combos to choose from to maximise this weapon’s potential and turn your defence into a brutal offence.
The Boombox
The Boombox is a brand new utility that is sure to blow your enemies away!
The Boombox does a massive amount of damage in short range cone area. Unlike The Nuke, however, it also does AOE damage! Gather your enemies into one place, get some air, and then boombox them out of existence.

Based on community feedback, we’ve also added the ability to reroll Data Chips! If you don’t like the Data Chips you’re offered, you’ll have the chance to reroll for some shiny new ones to give you a bit more control over what your loadout is like during a run.

Introducing Our Ace Plays Competition
Do you have the coolest ROBOBEAT clips in town?

To celebrate ROBOBEAT being 20% off in the Summer Sale, we’re running a competition for all of you rhythm cowboys out there.
ROBOBEAT is a roguelite rhythm shooter where you take on the role of robo-gunslinger Ace as he hunts down the chaotic showman Frazzer. With a name like that, you know he’s only making ace plays, and you should be too.
To enter the Ace Plays Competition, you’ll need to submit your coolest ROBOBEAT clip. Here are the rules:
You must use songs from the ROBOBEAT soundtrack or one of the cassettes from the secret BPM: Bullets Per Minute, ULTRAKILL, or DUSK rooms. You cannot use custom music tracks. If you haven’t found the secret rooms yet, you can follow the links to our YouTube guides on how to find them for BPM: Bullets Per Minute, ULTRAKILL, and DUSK.
You can switch tracks during the clip, as long as all of the tracks you use in the clip are from the ROBOBEAT soundtrack or secret rooms.
We recommend you keep your clip to a maximum of 1 minute in length, otherwise the judges may not have enough time to watch the clip in full.
You can edit the clip.
You can submit an edited compilation of clips.
You can use a clip that you have already recorded before the competition started, as long as it meets all of the above criteria. You do not need to record a clip especially for this competition.
We will not be checking any of the clips until after the competition deadline, so you must be sure that your clip follows the rules before you submit it. If you are unsure about the rules, please feel free to ask questions or share your clip in the ROBOBEAT Discord and a moderator will confirm if it meets the competition criteria or not.
Once you’ve prepared your clip and you’re sure it meets the competition criteria, all you need to do is follow the link here and submit your clip via YouTube.
You can submit it as a listed or unlisted video, but please ensure your video is not private, otherwise we will not be able to view it. Please also make sure your clip meets the competition criteria before you submit it, as you will only be able to submit your clip once and you won’t be able to change your entry once it has been submitted.
After the deadline has passed, we’ll be sifting through all of the clips and picking out what we think are the top 10 coolest ones.
But what does it mean to be cool?
We’ll be looking for clips that include lots of combos, trick plays, parrying, and masterful use of abilities. Getting a Rhythm God clear at the end certainly won’t hurt your chances either!
Once we’ve narrowed it down to our top 10, we’ll be putting it to a public vote! We’ll be letting the community members vote on their favorite clips in the ROBOBEAT Discord from our top 10 in order to determine the winner.
The lucky winner of the Ace Plays Competition will receive a pair of AKG K702 studio headphones and a ROBOBEAT bucket hat! The 2nd and 3rd place winners will each receive a ROBOBEAT bucket hat.
