Things are going well production is in full swing, No ETA yet on release we want to make sure it is perfect.
We have just added a night "freezing" effect so make sure to keep those fires burning!
The world still needs populating as it is a bit lifeless at the minute, Also the story is coming along so far we have around 1/2Hrs of story driven quests.

We have been away and took a long hard look at the game.
Many meetings and long hard nights drinking coffee, coupled with banging heads on desks have gone into this 10YA.
10YA has undergone lots of work and the first release of the new 10YA will be due soon.
We have took all views on board and we have decided to take 10YA back to its roots.

We have decided to make it an "OPEN BETA" for all Steam owners of 10YA
to be able to participate in the beta you will need to opt-in through steam, To do this please follow these instructions.
right-click on the game from the library page and select "Properties".
Among the available tabs will be the "BETAS" tab.
The beta should be listed in the dropdown menu under "Select the beta you would like to opt into:"
You may need to re-start steam to be able to view the tab.
Please take the time to read the information below, we'd like help with checking that 10YA runs successfully. We'd particularly like to know:

PLEASE NOTE :
The beta has been set up in such away that you can easily gather resources and there should be plenty lying around for you to test out the crafting and building systems.
Chapter 1 "BETA" is just a test of crafting,inventory,building and multiplayer you can play singleplayer as it is just the same but not online.
There are NO "QUESTS/STORY" or friendly NPC'S in this build.
The map/models and animations are not all complete, this is more noticed on multiplayer where weapons etc will appear out of scale in the 3rd person view.
You will also notice invisible blockers at the edges of the map.
Also we are aware of a bug if you are running "Avast" where the game will fail to load and steam will "hang" please disable "Avast" before running the beta.

[Official Notice] About Company Change
Dear Players,
Hello. Today we have a notice about the company change.
Actually, We already have mentioned about this through
previous announcement's, but decide to make a official notice to make situation more clear.
This game, '10 Years After' was developed and serviced by 'TenTreeGames' so far.
However, the IP(all rights) of this game recently(actually a few months ago) was taken over by RPG(actually us.)
And now, we are setting in the development team, and looking into game resources which we received and so on.
The websites and Facebook,Twitter,Youtube accounts for "TenTreeGames" have all gone offline while we move them over to RPG.
The Steam Dev Account has been passed over to us at RPG and the previous owner "AlwaysDead" now has no rights to the "10 Years After" steam page.
There seems to of been a lot of negativity regarding RPG taking over, this has all stemmed from us being to eager to make the announcement and using the old websites/facebook/steam account to inform you.
It has taken time for us to get things transferred over properly but things are now in motion.
Actually, it is taking more time than we originally expected.
During our preparing period (it can take a few months from now.),
we think that you, the players, may get angry and bored because of some existing problems and no updates.
We feel very sorry about this, and are trying to make the whole switch over as smooth as possible.
That's all at today. We will try to communicate with you, as often as we can
through this announcement.
But due to all the things that need to be sorted this page is not manned 24/7 at the moment once "Chapter 1" releases we will be able to maintain the steam forum at a better rate.

10 Years After will also now launch in "Chapters" each Chapter will be a free update to owners of the game there will only be one charge for users and that is the initial payment made through Steam.

Chapter 1:
After escaping the infection in a plane , You crash land on a small island and need to learn to live from the land and construct shelters until you can be rescued by a passing ship.
Dev Notes:
This first chapter gives us chance to test the survival and building systems along with hunger/thirst systems and basic animal AI
Chapter 2:
Your saved! ....Or are you! the government ship that saved you from your little island holiday has taken you to a survivor camp to be processed.

Rock Paper Games Acquires "10 Years After" from Ten Tree Games
As you will of noticed 10 Years After has halted production.
The move comes after several months of coordinated planning by the companies to ensure Ten Tree Games and "10 Years After" will be taken over by Rock Paper Games effective from 5/11/15.
We are still getting things sorted like email/website/social accounts/and steam as well as the "10 Years After" game files, this will take some time to address and sort through until development continues on "10 Years After"
Rock Paper Games are dedicated to bringing "10 Years After" back to life and we have a comprehensive roadmap of new features that will significantly benefit "10 Years After" users during the upcoming months and beyond.

MULTIPLAYER !.........multiplayer will now be available from the start menu in 0.0.9.
it is still in its early stage and you will spawn into one of two groups "survivor" or "raider"
the aim is to stay alive and take each other out,of course this will be expanded on in the next update, as will the story mode which at the moment you can only get so far with (as we ran out of time) so expect an update to 0.0.9 soon.
