Hello! Today's 1.40.0 Test patch introduces a few much-requested features, fixes a handful of bugs, and introduces Revenant versions of Hawk and Draco. It also adds fully translated Datalore for German! We've got more to do, but that's all we've got time for this week.
ICYMI, we're still collecting feature requests as we prepare to move full-time to other projects here.
We've also seen some discussion lately about character balance, so I've opened up a thread to chat about that, too - hop in.
This test patch will likely be updated a few times with additional work before it goes live. Thanks for playing!

CHANGES:
Hawk and Draco now have Revenant models of their characters. The art for these may or may not be final - at present, they're recolors.
When Nina hits a Boss with 2-3 shots in a row, the attacks after the first now do more damage (1.0x/0.8x/0.8x, up from 1.0x/0.5x/0.5x). This means that a base 3-hit combo from Nina now deals 10+8+8 = 26, up from 10+5+5 = 20. (This may be 0.1x too far. We'll see!) This change also applies to Draco's projectile combos.
Nina's (and Draco's projectile) shot-refresh timer (the time after which a shot no longer counts as "on screen" for "can I shoot again?" checks upped to 0.75s (from 0.5s).
World Slug removed. The world now moves at an appropriate pace.
Added Auto-charge in Advanced Options. We know this one's contentious, but we've (finally) decided to add it - folks who play the game a lot report hand pain as a limiting factor in their time spent playing 20XX - and we're trying it out. As a note: while this is on test, the code for this is not pretty, and I'm sure there are bugs.
Death Lotus will now ping his next emerge location a bit in advance.
Steam users J.Clockson_YT and xankriegor have translated the game's detailed enemy & item Datalore into German! (So it's now available in German.) Some of the descriptions run over the text box size. Turns out German uses a lot of characters.
In Endless play, 20XX will now forget what items it's generated every ten levels as long as the endgame gauntlet hasn't begun. This means Once Per Run items will spawn again - repeated pickups won't do anything.
Rebeginners past the third available unit will no longer display or factor into the Repro chain.
FIXES:
Fixed what I'm hoping is the primary cause of co-op play Endless run crashes.
Implemented a potential fix for the "vaulting" issue some players have noticed.
Fixed an issue that could cause enemies to rarely appear out of nowhere (they were being reset to their spawn points at really inopportune times). This usually happened with Agnisort Bzzombs (bees), but was possible elsewhere. This may also take out the rare "invisible enemy" bug where you collide with an enemy hitbox that you can't see or shoot.
Fixed an issue where black-square Prototypes could appear late in Endless runs.
Fixed an issue where Save & Quit resulted in catastrophic Nut Loss.
Fixed an issue where Intensifier wasn't boosting Vika's charged shot.
Fixed Murderdrone doing 8 damage (should be 10) - did I change this on purpose?
Entropy Lock no longer shows up in Boss Rush.
Fixed an issue where the Get Equipped & Provoke achievements would fail to trigger for the client in online co-op.
Fixed an issue where Meganut could be taken into Challenges (if it spawned in HQ as a next-run item).
If the game window loses focus while it's unable to pause (say, because you're looking at a boss intro), it'll pause as soon as it can (instead of not pausing).
20XX 1.31.3 Patch Notes -- April 25, 2019
Hello! Today's 20XX 1.31.3 patch fixes a few more bugs and lets Nina's primary weapons fire a bit more often.
This patch will be followed up by another much quicker test/live push changing Nina's "inactive" shot timer to 0.75s (from 0.5s), but I'd like to give that patch a few days to breathe on test before pushing it live.
Additionally - we're currently looking for a bit of feedback on the game's future going forward as Batterystaple focuses on new projects full-time - please see that thread here.
Thanks for reading!

CHANGES:
Zookeeper's Burden no longer grants a Skittery Smuggler in Challenge runs, or when the Bankrupt Skull is active (since it'll have nothing to eat).
Nina's shots now count as "inactive" for purposes of her shot limit shortly after they spawn, instead of once they disappear. (This helps prevent the feeling that she's shot-locked without altering the the attack's speed or lifetime.)
FIXES:
Fixed an online multiplayer issue causing weapon/power pickups to behave strangely in some setups.
Fixed an issue causing Force Resonator, Armatort's Pound (Arm Core), and Scatterbeam to fail to work together properly.
Fixed an issue causing The Volunteer to fail to convert Shops into Very Safe Labs.
Fixed an issue causing the Back button to fail to back out of the WHC/DHC Skull lists.

20XX 1.31.2 Patch Notes -- December 13, 2018
Hello! Today's 20XX 1.31.2 patch fixes a few bugs from 1.31.1. Unless you've experienced one of the issues below, you can probably ignore this post.
Thanks for playing!
--
FIXES:
Fixed an issue causing the game to complain about certain controller setups.
Fixed an issue causing Stick Look to blank out the screen.
Fixed/reworked Kingseeker a bit - it will now prevent all forms of non-boss-kill healing, but will still allow healing items to spawn.
20XX 1.31.1 Patch Notes - December 5, 2018
Hello! Today's 20XX 1.31.1 patch adds auto-adjusting stick-look for controllers, brings about a few Hawk changes, adds a separate button for Draco's charge mechanic, and (finally!) autodetects XInput devices, allowing for the proper use of both LT and RT on a given controller. It also includes a handful of fixes.
Thanks for playing!

CHANGES:
Stick-look enabled on controllers that support it!
When playing, the right stick can now be used to pan the camera in any direction, up to a distance of about half a screen.
The camera will naturally gravitate back toward its normal resting point if you move away from your pan direction. (For example, if you pan to the right, the camera will re-center itself as you move left.)
Pressing in the right stick re-centers the camera.
This feature is disabled in enclosed spaces (shops, boss rooms/hallways) where it's not super useful anyway.
This functionality is not currently available on keyboards. If you'd like to see it, help suggest sensible defaults - we're not sure this feature makes sense without a controller, but we'd love to support keyboard use if possible.
The goal is to give players a little more control over what they see, especially when moving purely vertically, or very quickly horizontally - let us know how it feels!
Hawk changes! We'll revisit if we've gone overboard here.
Hawk now has four Power Slots.
Hawk's Siphon attacks that kill an enemy are now guaranteed to restore at least 1 NRG.
World Igniter NRG cost reduced by 20%.
Seeking Striker damage increased by 25%.
Added a new keybind! For Draco, this key is an alternate way to trigger Dracocharged attacks. For Hawk, this key is Power 4.
Added a "disable up-to-charge" option for Draco players who prefer to only use the new keybind.
Static Clicklets are now "up-to-stick" instead of "down-to-slide". This means they default off, and only cause the user to stick if pressing Up - previously, they defaulted to on, only deactivating if the user pressed Down.
Force Resonator now has an interaction with Ace's Plasma Blender + Dracopent's Claw (increased Charge Rate).
FIXES:
Fixed an issue causing AL's cage to break early.
Fixed a rare issue causing the tutorial to affect the next run's Aug drops.
Fixed an issue causing Ace and Hawk's Resonating Oxjack Body effect to fail to reflect projectiles.
Fixed an issue allowing Vera and Quint Laser to let their powers combine. (Sorry!)
Fixed C. Beta and Boltdash spawning with Purist on.
Fixed Fortune Stabilizer spawning with Bankrupt on.
20XX 1.31.0 Test Notes - October 3, 2018
--TEST PATCH 1.31.0 --
Hello! Today's 20XX 1.31.0 test patch fixes some bugs, allows XInput control detection (finally!), makes a few Hawk changes (buffs), and allows Draco an alternate way to use his Dracocharges. It also enables stick-look on controllers!
Thanks for playing early!
REMINDER: to get into the test build, right click 20XX in your Library, click Properties, then the Betas tab, then pick "20xxtest" from the dropdown. You'll know it worked if the game name changes to "20XX [20xxtest]" in your Library list. This build is compatible with 1.30.4, so it still has daily/weekly challenges and online co-op enabled.
NOTE: The addition of a new keybind will reset your controls. (It should only happen the first time you load 1.31.0.)

Thanks!

20XX 1.30.3 Test Notes - August 7, 2018
Hi, folks! We're trying something a little new (to us) here, and pushing patches to a publicly-accessible test branch before they go live.
To that end, 1.30.3 - the successor to the less-than-great 1.30.2 - is now available for testing.
To get into the test branch:
Right click 20XX in your Steam Library, click Properties
Click the Betas tab in the window that appears
From the dropdown, select "20xxtest"
You'll know it worked if 20XX's entry in your Library reads "20XX [20xxtest]" instead of just "20XX"!
Notes below - 1.30.3 is primarily a bugfix patch, but we're trying to narrow down the cases of a few users reporting crashes on pressing Play at the main menu. Thanks for reading!

Update, August 9: The play! button issue has been resolved, as has an issue with control rebinds.

20XX 1.30.2 Patch Notes -- July 27, 2018
EDIT, 7/27 @ 11pm EST:
I've rolled back 1.30.2 - it has some issues that I unfortunately do not have time to fix before I'm out of town this coming week. I'll do my best to get in a tiny fix version of the patch before we go that takes care of the crash addressed in 1.30.2.
If you've experienced issues with the game today, please make sure you're on build 2953308 (right click 20XX in your Library, click Properties, then Local Files).
We apologize for this error!

20XX 1.30.1 Patch Notes -- July 13, 2018
Hello! Today's 20XX 1.31 patch fixes a bunch of bugs that 1.30 introduced.
Thanks for playing!

CHANGES:
Added a Discord link (to our official Discord community) at the title screen. For now, this link only appears in English, but we'll change that very soon.
Draco no longer double-dips with the Dracopent Helmet and Plasma Blender. (It still grants him a charge - it does not slow the rate of combo decay.)
Reduced Unstoppable Force's two-hit combo SFX.
Added a Quick Restart button in Seed Racer plays.
Added the DLC Availability button back to the title screen for Draco.
FIXES:
Save and Quit no longer forces the Unstoppable Hammer back into Draco's unwilling hands.
Fixed an issue causing Draco's Plasma Blender to ramp up too quickly.
Fixed an issue with Draco's Rippling Axe first swing.
Fixed an issue where Vika and Jest couldn't undevelop Core Augs. (I'm not sure why they'd want to, but hey, you do you.)
Fixed broken Advanced Options menu translations.
Removed an old debug trigger that somehow was causing folks trouble.
Removed some 1.3 Augs that shouldn't've been showing up with the Purist Skull active.
