Thank you everyone who's picked up 24K in the Steam Spring Sale!
Please consider taking a few minutes to leave a short review. My goal is to get 500 reviews at 98% positive so I can get Steam's fabled "Overwhelmingly Positive" status. We're so close too! It will help the game's visibility in the store, and help me in future endeavors.
Spring is in the air and I'm starting to focus on new projects, so I don't want to get anyone's hopes up for future content updates or major gameplay changes. An optimization and fan translation update is in the works. That being said, any feedback on 24K is still helpful so I can improve the next 24K-like! It's a formula that I think is worth improving and exploring more. I do read the negative reviews and appreciate people voicing what they would have liked to see in the game.
Thank you for your support, and have a wonderful Spring Break!
Todd
P.S. - I installed a weather vane similar to the one in 24K on top of the Happy Shabby Games Shedquarters ;?)
SFX of 24K Free for commercial or personal use!
I released the SFX of 24 Killers for free on Itch.io! They can be used for personal or commercial projects, no attribution required! Great for rapid prototyping or for a full game. Enjoy!
I wanted to say thank you to everyone picking up 24 Killers this season, and use this opportunity to remind people to leave a review of their experience! We're sitting at 272 reviews (98% positive) at the moment, and my dream is to get it up to 500 while keeping the same ration in order to get the "overwhelmingly positive" status on Steam. It helps greatly.
In other news, I'm working on an optimization update that will improve performance and memory use. I'm going back through old code and improving it with gusto. Some people are running into memory related crashes during long sessions and my goal is to stop that from happening. This will not halt your progress, but can be annoying and confusing. If you've experienced a crash or lock, it's likely due to this. Relaunching the application will clear the memory and let you continue on. This is a good preventative measure too if you're deep in the shabbyverse of 24K.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Fix For "Quickly Now!" Achievement
Hey guys,
A community member let me know that the "Quickly Now!" achievement wasn't triggering for beating the game in less than 24 days. This build will correct that, and retroactively give you the achievement if you were affected by this. All you have to do is go to the file select screen and the game scans your files to see if any are beaten in under 24 days. I put it out on the beta branch first for that community member to test and everything seems to be working.
Hope you're all having a wonderful Summer. Take care.

Regular Spawn Fix Update
Had an interesting bug reported in the Discord. The player had a pre Summer update save, downloaded the update, deleted their old save, and started a new game. A shop variable from the pre summer version somehow carried over to the new save they started and prevented the Regular from spawning. This is a fix for anyone who experienced that. No need to restart your save or anything. Should automatically get her shop to spawn after talking to her on the beach.
Let me know if there are any issues, and take care,
Todd
Review Reminder
Hey guys,
I wanted to reach out and ask that if you've enjoyed 24K, please take a few moments to leave a review. I don't feel like this is a strange or shameful thing to ask because, well, I'm small potatoes compared to bigger indies. Reviews help the game's visibility on Steam and currently only about 6% of players have left a review. I'd love to bring another happy shabby adventure to life, and if you've already picked up 24K, this is a free way to support my future games in a big way. Thank you all for the support. I couldn't ask for a better group of players.
Take care,
Todd

Hot Fix for Summer Update!
This is a patch to fix an issue with the new bed stars that mixed up monster IDs during ghost haunt cutscenes, making the wrong monster appear, breaking the game.
I also updated the credits to include the artist of the new title screen and Steam promo art.
Thank you guys and apologies for any inconvenience. This update won't fix any saves that were effected, but you can hop into our Discord to find me, and I'm happy to fix your save personally.
Take care,
Todd
(Fixed)Progression Bug with New Summer Build!
(This bug has been fixed, please update to the newest build. Thank you!)
Good morning!
I thought all was well with the new build, but I got a report this morning from a Discord member that some mon cutscenes and photo events are getting mixed up and preventing progression. Here's what could be happening to you (quote from Discord):
"I’m struggling to get passed when piggle and nix are let out of the vault. After getting the key from the ship and then going to sleep after helping all the mons that day (all the mons after the final toast lock that I could help) it shows all the cutscenes and then piggle appears like how a ghost mon would and just says “mad” and disappears. It keeps doing this and It’s funny, but I tried continuing and it kept doing the same cutscene and then piggle would be bagged again and then I’d get multiple photos that were from piggle but just labelled as photos separately. Also, nix’s quest would never occur even after helping the second to last ghost mon and having the document and memory stick. I thought at first it may have been because I put in the key code before meeting the cat who gave you the document, but I deleted my save and retried it normally and the same thing has happened again."
I made some changes to mon progression which is probably what's causing this issue. I'm working on a fix right now and hope to get a patch out today. If I'm not able to pin this down quickly, I'll roll the public build back to the last stable build.
I'm sorry that this slipped through.

Summer Update Now Live & Patch Notes!
The Summer update is now live!
06262024 fixes: brazilian text missing tutorial text for shamrock in-game menu not disappearing after pressing "return to title" void music turning off after pocketing a blessing during intro weird effects if you activate huey's minigame before turning in oyaji's photo photo location for ghost mons always reading "rest"
changes: bed stars! a star floats above your bed for each cutscene that will occur at night. this is to help people know if sleeping will change something so they don't waste their time sleeping. it's also a good indicator if you're stuck. the presence of stars means something will occur at night, the absence of stars means there is something that needs doing on the island presently
regular now triggers a cutscene the night she opens her shop showing the flash item. this is to remind players about her and give more utility to the bed stars
if you free huey, then beat oyaji's minigame, huey's minigame will be available immediately instead of having to sleep to progress
screen transitions!
cursed blessing days reduced to 7 from 24!!
when activating a mon's minigame or item quest, their photo appears in your inventory, half transparent with an exclamation mark next to it, to show you haven't collected it yet. this way players can see what mons they haven't helped and where they're located. once you actually get their photo, the exclamation goes away and the icon becomes opaque
new alternate track by FesliyanStudios added for the main outdoor areas. slide guitar blues fits the island's vibe very well
new title screen art by Discord member Shu Bi! You can check out their website here
raised settings menu screen position so it's more centered
Really excited for new and seasoned players to try this update. The bed stars that indicate if events will happen at night, and photos now acting as a pseudo quest log, feel like needed QoL features that will benefit everyone.
Besides small bug fixes, this will be the last update for a while so I can focus on making new games. Thanks for your continued support, and please share 24K with your friends during the Summer Sale!

Summer Sale Update
Hey guys! Hope you're having a lovely Spring. Wanted to let you know I'm putting some ideas together for a small Summer update based on feedback and personal "wishlist" things.
-updated title screen with new art -more BGM variety for the main areas -cool screen transitions, something i always wish the game had -bug fixes. anyone notice that when you pick up a blessing during the intro the BGM stops? -a very light kind of hint or "compass" system (optional toggle) that helps point players toward objectives to make the game more accessible for modern/casual gamers. i'll also try to encourage people to seek help here or the discord when toggling this option because it's important to 24K's experience to have some skin in the game as a player whether it's paying attention to dialogue or seeking help from the community
I'm still interested in marketing 24K and supporting it. It's been so encouraging to hear from people in the Discord and X about their love for the game. Still have my hopes up that it will reach a wider audience and gain that "Overwhelmingly Positive" status on Steam. So please drop a review or share the game with a friend if you haven't!
Have a great week and expect an update for the Summer Sale!
