Are you ready for patch 1.1.0?

It's CHRISTMAS!

Just kidding. But we do have a few presents for you in this latest patch. Ask and ye shall receive:

  • Opened up additional controls to DefaultUserInput.ini so players can input workarounds for controls. This is the best we can do for remappable controls right now.
  • Added windowed mode! (You can now swap between that and full-screen, but it'll require a reboot)
  • Added resolution options, now you can pick a screen size so things are less likely to cut off. NOTE: 4:3 resolutions are still not scaling properly (it's a UMG thing) and we're still looking into it.
  • Level fixes. Went in and cleaned up the decals in a lot of levels.
  • Menu fixes. Game is now less likely to do weird menu stuff.
  • Fixed timer. It now shows your actual level time.
  • Added music/ sound fx volume and FOV controls.
  • Added proper loading screens, where needed (like at the beginning of the game, for those of you having trouble transitioning from control screen to actual playing.)
  • Fixed level loading. You are less likely to fall to your death if the level has not loaded yet.
  • Fixed descriptions on achievements, now they properly reflect what you need to do, for reals this time.

We've also added steam trading cards- collect the elusive :itsfine: emoticon and show off to your friends some awesome artwork made by the awesome Retro Yeti art team. They should be live in the next day or two, pending activation.

ARGH. Okay. We lied, but not on purpose! It turns out that free/free to play games cannot have card drops unless we have some form of paid content, which we will never do for this game. We're very sorry for the hopes that we raised. In consolation, we'll upload the art on our website in case anyone wants to see 'em. Our deepest and most sincere regrets. :(

Still pending: Epilepsy/Motion sickness warnings, increased mouse sensitivity, and additional optimization.

That's it! As always, if there are any questions or comments, please feel free to get in touch!

Build 1.0.1!

Hey! Hi! Hello! We're excited to bring you our first patch. Here's what we've got:
  • Final achievement (Internet Saved) is now fixed!
  • Fixed minor achievement description errors
  • Issue with Power User achievement being awarded at the wrong time is fixed
  • Start button bug - fix in place, but we've been unable to reproduce the bug for testing. If you've had issues with this, please test it out and let us know if it works.
  • Level loading (falling off the world at the end of the hallway) - Fix in place, but unable to reproduce for testing. Again, please let us know if this works or not.
  • First person camera bug - Head would twist in weird way after landing jump which was incredibly disorienting - fixed

Bugs and requests we're still working on:
  • Customizable resolution (or at least a fix to prevent screen cut-off)
  • Optimization - this is a big one. We've identified a few fixes to try, but they'll take us a bit.
  • Windowed mode
  • Sound slider for sound effects + music
  • FOV slider
  • Mouse sensitivity increase
  • Issues with falling through the level
  • Motion Sickness + Epilepsy warnings

If you have issues with Norton Antivirus giving you a warning, an older OS saying you're missing an exe, or cannot launch the game, please see the pinned threads in the discussion section for potential solutions.

Please bear with us! We're working as hard and as fast as we can to get things fixed on 404Sight, but school comes first right now. We're a team of graduate students, and over the next two weeks we have finals, our thesis defense, and graduation.

As always, we really appreciate all of your support and feedback. If there are any questions, comments, or concerns - just let us know!

Launch day notes!

Hello everyone!

We wanted to pop in and just acknowledge some of your launch day bug reports. Thanks for taking the time to tell us about them!

  • The final (non-secret) achievement "Internet Saved" is bugged, we know what the problem is, and it should be fixed in the next few days.
  • If you find yourself running off the edge of a level at the end of a hallway, that's an issue with the loading system and we're looking into that.
  • Overall lag, graphics problems, and general performance issues...we're always looking for ways to optimize the performance, but for now that's where things are. If the lowest of the low settings don't work for you, could you email us your benchmarks? (contact at retro yeti dot com) It'll help give us a better picture of where things start to go wrong.
  • The camera will lock to your screen once you click. So if you see a cursor, just click once and you should be fine.
  • Sometimes the "how to play" screen will hang for a few seconds. If this is the issue, try a game restart. We're looking into additional fixes.
  • Jumps sending you flying to your death. Hm. We're not at a GLaDOS level of evil, we promise. We will continue to adjust our levels to minimize this event, but you should know that in at least ONE section it is intentional.
  • Also, try not to hit spacebar on the purple jumps. It doesn't give you a double jump.

Finally, we to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your kind words and support. It really means a lot to us!
