You can now right-click any team, click ‘Profile’, and find out useful information on them straight away. This includes their League Position, Latest Results, most recently played formation, and the players that have been performing best for them so far this season. You can also still access their full squad list as before. And you can do this for both Senior and Youth Teams.
Also within this area is a Team History tab. This shows a graph of their performance over past seasons (both for Senior and Youth), and the trophies they have won so far. So now you can instantly take a look at the goliaths of the game and see how you measure up against them, as well as keeping an eye on the up and coming challengers and your divisional rivals.
Thanks!
Player Traits & Hot/Cold Players
Hi everyone
Big update for you this month! It includes some very significant Match Engine improvements with the aim of making more attributes more important and improving the general flow of the game. We also aim to make the match experience more enjoyable and rewarding to encourage managers to play matches ‘live’ and have added a couple of new features that will make playing those matches all the more important.
Enhancing the match experience further is a brand new Hot/Cold Player feature. This new feature will give you more things to consider in each match and make playing matches ‘live’ more important as you potentially try to tailor your tactics to which players are on form!
Also in this update is another brand new feature: Player Traits. Players who graduate fully scouted from your academy are awarded special traits. We won’t list out what they are… but there are a number of these to be discovered! The new feature will better reward managers who interact with the academy process and give additional reasons why bringing youth through is a very feasible alternative to the transfer market approach.
To ensure that academies are more accessible for managers who do not upgrade their academy or newer players who are as yet unfamiliar with academies, a couple of changes have been made to make these easier to get to grips with. The ability to see which attributes are next to be revealed and the ability to see the overall/ceiling of the player for fully revealed players is now available for trials that haven’t been upgraded.
We've also added the option to convert unused Youth Recruitment Points into Development Points for graduates. This gives managers more flexibility to develop academy players instead of relying solely on the transfer market.
This update also includes a much-requested addition: a Club Profile*** area for every team. This will allow teams to easily show off their achievements/trophies, and in addition, it shows details of each team’s current league position, recent results and most recent lineup/formation at a glance. ***Please Note: A last minute issue has prevented us from deploying this area - we will be doing a follow-up release in the next week or so to get this into the game!***
Finally, this update includes various smaller tweaks, visual improvements, and bug fixes. A detailed list of the main changes follows below.
Match Engine Update
Big Match Engine Update, including lots of changes to the core Match Engine.
This includes balancing changes to the majority of attributes.
Too many changes to list here. Try it out to see what has changed!
Hot / Cold Player feature
In every match, each team will have 2 ‘hot’ players and 2 ‘cold’ players in their starting lineup. Hot players receive a boost to every attribute. Cold players receive a reduction to every attribute.
Each team will also have 1 ‘hot’ player and 1 ‘cold’ player on the substitutes bench.
You find out which of your players are hot and cold at half-time. At this point you can use this extra information to better enhance your decision-making.
You only find out which of your players are hot and cold, NOT your opposition’s players.
Bot teams do not have hot/cold players. All bot player attributes are unaffected by this change.
The new Player Traits system will interact with the Hot/Cold Player system. Find out how when you have players with these!
Player Traits Feature
Player Traits affect various things in the matchday experience. They interact significantly with the new Hot/Cold Player feature.
When the last attribute for an Academy Player is revealed, the player is considered ‘Fully Scouted’ and receives a Player Trait.
Academy trialist players that are not fully revealed do not graduate with a Player Trait. This ensures that traits are not common and make these players special.
In rare circumstances, players can graduate with 2, or even more rarely, 3 Player Traits. These players will not be common, and some interesting combinations could be possible!
If a player has any Player Traits, they keep these their whole career and they do not gain or lose traits during their career. i.e. If they sign for another club they keep their traits.
Player Traits only function in Competitive matches (i.e. they have no effect in friendly matches)
Youth Recruitment Point Conversion
Youth Recruitment Points can now be converted into Development Points for graduates (note: this can only be done while a player is a Youth player, when they become a Senior player it can no longer be done).
You can convert any unspent Youth Recruitment Points into Development Points at any point in the season.
The conversion rate is 1 Youth Recruitment Point = 500 Development Points. Development Points can (as is now) be used to reveal training options, add/change positions, and recover players from injury.
This feature has been added to allow users who don’t always spend all of their Recruitment Points to put these points to use elsewhere
Friendly Match Lobby Change
No longer an exclusive Supporter Feature - all managers are now able to create matches in the Friendly Match Lobby. This should help managers with and without Supporter Days find matches with specific conditions and/or opponents as they wish
Other Academy Changes
All managers now receive a partial ‘Foresight’ ability as part of the Academies. This will allow managers to see the next 3 attributes that will be revealed for a player even if they don’t have an upgraded academy. This is represented by the letters A, B and C to denote the next three attributes that will be revealed for a player
The ability to see the Overall and Ceiling of an Academy player is now available to everyone, not just those that have upgraded their academy.

Training System Update
Hi everyone
The release earlier this month updated the Training system to switch up the gameplay a little! The initial visible attributes are now mixed between the A and B options so that neither option begins fully revealed, meaning that you never have a complete option to pick initially. This increases the importance of using your training points wisely as there’ll no longer be a fully revealed option you can ‘safely’ fall back on.
We also tweaked the potential career paths of players by increasing the variance of training options throughout their careers, especially for older players. This means that there is potentially a lot more scope for some older players to retain their useability if the right options come along for them - again, meaning that using those training points wisely will become even more important.
New Contracts Page
Hi everyone
We have added new functionality to the game to enable clearer management of contracts and wages for your squads. This should enable everyone to have an at-a-glance picture of how their squad is shaping up for the following season.
The new area includes information on player wages for the following season, which players (if any) will graduate from your academy, and shows if you’re currently due to have any spaces in your squad. You can now manage all of your player contracts from this area, rather than having to do so from each player’s profile.
This new ‘Contracts’ screen can be found under the ‘Transfers’ menu option.
This update also includes the addition of a Chinese language option to the game!
A summary of the changes is listed below:
New Contracts Page
Centrally manage all expiring contracts from a single place
See what your squad will look like next season
See what your squad wages will be next season
See which trialists will and won’t graduate, and why
See how many available squad spaces you have next season, and if any of those have certain requirements (i.e. must be a goalkeeper)
See which of your players will retire at the end of the season
Other Changes
Added Simplified Chinese language option
Improvements to Training page
New Club Reputation and Youth Recruitment Features
Hi everyone
The start of this month saw a major update! A new Club Reputation System has been introduced, as well as a brand new and exciting Youth Recruitment Feature. There has also been huge changes to the Transfer System and the way Player Contracts work which should invigorate the gameworld!
New Club Reputation Feature
The new Club Reputation System means that your team’s performance is more important than ever. Each season your best competition performance will have direct influence on your Wage Cap, so every position counts! A new Leaderboard will appear at the end of the month so you can compare yourself against your rivals!
New Youth Recruitment Feature
A new and exciting Youth Recruitment Feature has been introduced. Every month the first week of the season will see teams fighting it out for the best youth prospects as they use their skill and judgment to decide which targets to go for and how many Recruitment Points to bid.
Changes to Transfer System & Player Contracts
There have been big changes in this area to invigorate the transfer market. We’re expecting a lot more signing and releasing of players as users wrestle with the management of their squad under a tight wage budget that really brings good decisions to the fore. And the changes to the contracts system should see many, many good players available every season. Knowing when to extend and when to release will make squad management a challenge that will prove a real test even for the top managers.
Spectating Matches, National Teams, Cosmetic Items and Supporter Gifts!
Hi everyone
A brand new feature has just been introduced into 90 Minute Fever: the ability to spectate matches! Last month saw the addition of National Teams, Cosmetic Items and Supporter Gifts!
Here is a quick summary of what has been added to the game:
Spectating Matches
Now you can scout out how other teams are playing, or maybe watch big teams slug it out in the top competitions! You can see which matches are being played in the new ‘Live Matches’ widget.
National Teams
Each and every month will now offer you the opportunity to take on the role of a national team manager in addition to your role as manager of your club. Can you handle the pressure of taking on one of the big boys and the expectation that comes with it? Or do you fancy the challenge of trying to take a smaller nation to tournament glory?
Weekly Supporter Gifts
Those with Supporter Days will also be able to claim 4 gifts throughout each month! These gifts are either Cosmetic Items or a bundle of Fever Tokens (that can be used to purchase other Cosmetic Items or National Team jobs for the season).
Cosmetic Items and Fever Tokens
Fever Tokens are now back in the game! These are acquired as part of the new Supporter Gifts system and can also be acquired via exchange for Supporter Days. Kit Designs, Pitch Grass Patterns and Mascots are now in the game and can be purchased with Fever Tokens.
To celebrate the launch of the new Spectating Matches feature, Steve & Kon will be hosting a live Stream of the 90MF Euro Cup at 6pm UTC (7pm UK time) on Tuesday 18th June. Grab a National Team to get involved and see if your game is streamed ‘live’ as part of the coverage! Be sure to follow the 90MF Twitch channel so you receive a notification when the live stream starts. Those who watch the live stream will be able to claim a free in-game Lumberjack mascot!
Match Engine Revamp: Core Logic Overhaul
Hi everyone
This month sees a major Match Engine Update implemented!
A huge amount of the underlying logic has been reworked and improved including Tackling, First Touch, Passing, Crossing, Set Pieces, Heading, Shooting, Dribbling, Defensive Line, Off the ball movement. These changes collectively result in a fresh and improved match experience.
Other than of course intending to generally improve the Match Experience, this update also has some specific objectives:
To allow more types of tactics to be viable and have a more diverse meta in the game when it comes to tactics and the types of teams you will play against
To make more attributes more important and more types of players viable
To make it more viable to have top class effective players that are not fast
The new match engine has a lot of exploration space and we’re really excited to see what kinds of successful tactics people are able to create! It’s absolutely the case that existing tactics and players may no longer be as good as they were previously, especially in the cases of ‘one-dimensional’ tactics and ‘one-trick pony’ players!
We will be monitoring the results and behaviours of the Match Engine closely this month to see how everyone is using it and make appropriate improvements and adjustments. We’ll also be monitoring the strength of the bot teams to see if they are at the correct levels and will adjust accordingly if required.
Note: We’ve picked up some eleventh hour balancing testing issues with the Defensive Line. For now all teams have a normal defensive line being implemented regardless of the setting.
Friendly Match Lobby Added
Hi everyone
We’ve just released an exciting update! We have added a new Friendly Match Lobby feature into the game. Participate in friendly matches with custom options including:
Level : Senior or Youth
Handicap : The team in the lower Division receives a bonus to all their players' attributes
Unlimited Subs : Allows unlimited substitutions
Penalty Shootouts : When the match ends in a draw
Knocks : Allow 'knocks' to happen (or not happen!) in the match
Player Positions : If turned off then all outfield players are able to play all outfield positions proficiently
Password Protected : Password protect your match to allow a specific opponent to join
Improved Match Engine and New Player Roles Added
Hi everyone
This update primarily focusses on improving the match engine itself, with a particular focus on player decision-making. Thanks for all the feedback people have been providing. Much of it has been incorporated into this update.
There have been significant improvements to player decision-making with regards to passing, shooting, dribbling, and heading, as well as both defensive and offensive movement. From a visual point of view, the way the ball is represented when it is off the ground is much clearer.
There have been numerous updates to current player roles and some brand new player roles created. Many of these new roles additions/changes were created in order to enable more types of tactics to be created (and to provide some additional counters to the more popular tactics).
We expect there to be a significant shake-up to the tactics and player meta (i.e. which tactics people are using and which types of players people are looking to recruit), so be prepared to play some games to test out some new tactics to help adjust to the significant changes!
This is the third in a series of updates focussing on improving the match experience. The Changelog for the update can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/468070/discussions/1/3936769163092017612/
Live Player Stats in Matches and Club Player Records
Hi everyone
This is the second in a series of updates focussing on improving the match experience. This update also focuses on improving the value of the Supporter Days features by adding a couple of new features. The ability to view live player stats during matches. Also added is the ability to view club player records, for both senior and youth levels.
The brand new player stats feature will show stats of how your players are performing in matches, updated in real time! These stats include Tackles, Dribbles, Shots, Passes and Headers, broken down into Successful and Unsuccessful actions so you can see how your players are doing and give you more information to base your in-game decision-making. These stats are also shown for opposition players, so you can see where they are having successes or failures against your team as the game progresses.
The new Club Records page will show your top players (current and retired) in a number of disciplines, including Goals, Assists and Appearances. Records are shown for both Senior and Youth categories so you’ll have a record of both club legends and your potential young superstars!
The Changelog for the update can be found here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/468070/discussions/1/3879345465230823432/
An introductory offer for new users has been added to the game that gives a bonus 30 Supporter Days with their first Supporter Days purchase (it is time limited to 14 days). This offer has been extended and also made available for all current users for the first 2 weeks of October.
Note: We have been working on a major update to the Match Engine. This will be released in the next Match Experience update coming at the end of this month.
