[D-1] 2nd beta service of 9DKA will start soon!



Greeting partners, testers, and all fans of 9Dragons from all around the world.

Finally, tomorrow(April 17th, 2019), the 2nd beta test of 9Dragons: Kung fu Arena will be started (11:00 am KRT) with various updates including duo mod, upgraded combat animations, and graphics changes.


Before we explain how fun the 2nd beta will be, we’d like to appreciate all supporters, testers, and creators who have supported us since the 1st beta started. Without the support from you guys, I’m pretty sure that we won’t make this far.



9DKA’s 2nd beta service will allow you guys to enjoy the dynamic Martial-Art world even better than the 1st beta version. We’ve improved our quality of graphics resources, client stability, combat mechanism, and plus, the Duo mode that you can invite your friend and have some fun!

You can download the beta client for free by accessing our steam store page URL at below, and don’t miss the limited supporter’s skin edition for the people who participate in our 2nd beta service.

1st beta test ends & future beta schedule announcement

Hello guys, as we've noticed from the last announcement, we'd like to share our future beta plans that allow you to participate :)

[Closed Beta Test]



Since we’ve received various feedback from testers, we have massive dev schedule for each month until May and we’d like to proceed a closed beta test by recruiting testers by our community.

Our goal is to gather 30~40 testers for each region that we’ve set currently (NA, EU, SEA, KR) and run a closed beta test for couple times for 3 months.
We will build a separated community for those testers and share the detailed information to communicate through the test schedule.

First closed beta test will proceed at the end of the March and if you wish to participate, you can just fill the format below and send it to me by Discord(JWG#6889) or an email(support@joongwongames.com)!

[Announcement] End of the 1st beta service & future beta schedule

Hello guys,

From this announcement, we will discuss the end of our 1st beta service (January 18th 15:00 pm KRT) and future beta service plan.



With over 1,500 testers, this beta service was a great opportunity for us to get positive feedback and a lot of developmental advice despite a lot of issues in the game, and I would also like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to every tester.



As many testers have told us through Discord and Steam Community, we’ve realized that there are lots of developmental issues to be fixed (GUI, combat system, graphics, animation and etc) and therefore, we’ve decided to proceed additional closed/open beta test(service) to share the improvements and provide a better game at the end.

The additional beta test schedule will be announced tomorrow (January 18th, 2019 in KRT) and we believe the test will include a closed beta test that will recruit participants and proceed separately, and the 2nd open beta test which is same as the last beta test.



You’ll find a clear future beta test schedule and content in tomorrow’s announcement, and once again I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all testers who participated in this beta service of “9Dragons: Kung Fu Arena”.

[01.08.2019 Beta Version 0.9.1297 Update]


1. Bug Fixes




- Unexpected Character status error during the defense has been fixed



- Unexpected Character status error while using skill from spear(Q) has been fixed



- Sound effect error when the Altar is deactivated has been fixed

2. Improvements




- Now, you can use “Sort” button to sort the inventory to gather items by each category



- Skill books are now moveable from the weapon slot to another slot in the inventory

- If the equipped weapon and the weapon you wish to change is in same category, equipped skill books also will be applied when you change your weapon.


3. Balance




- Attack power from the [Jump+LMB] has been decreased
- Projectile speed from the [RMB] has been increased



- Projectile speed from the [RMB] has been decreased



- Chi point used during the Chi Step has been increased
- Heights when you jump during [Sprint] Chi Step, has been increased



- Chi point used per second while performing [Stealth] has been increased
- Cooltime for [Detection] has been decreased



- Damage reduction rate from the Inner Armor has been decreased
- Durability for the Inner Armor has been increased
- The time required for taking all potions has been decreased

[Dev Note] Dev Schedule & Issues for January

Hello guys,

Before we start the post, we’d like to say thank you all for participating current beta service and joining our community. Even it is a beta service, we empathize that it still has much dev works need to be done and we wish that we can share the stories and results from our dev process with you guys.


Through this post, we will share our major tasks which will be discussed and developed during January 2019 to gather feedback from users to ensure that our direction of development continuously stays on right track.
(For the dev issues mentioned below, please be informed that there might be a change or changes in tasks due to certain unexpected circumstances.)

1. New and fixes for in-game function




  • In-Game event UI

- Since the game rule might cause some confusion to new players, we will add the event UI that shows each event’s condition and progress (Dragon’s Jade spawn time, poison&lava trap condition…)


  • Marking function for game map

- It is a basic function for most of battle royal game. However, we didn’t include this function in beta service and will be updated on next beta service.


  • Navigation system for major objects

- It is a system which will be developed in January that provides information for the major object (landmarks, ruins, mysterious lady…) by showing direction with arrows on mini-map based on current player’s location.


  • Sorting inventory function

- In the current inventory structure, which is listed in the order that you obtain, a function will be developed to automatically sort by each item type through the sort button.


  • Switching weapon slots

- Additional features will be developed to allow to switch the location of the main & secondary weapon slots.


  • Weapon name exposure

- Each name of the weapon that you equip will be exposed on next update.


  • Improved system for “Ruins”

- Rather than simply the existing procedure of visiting the area to obtain the Dragon’s Jade, to provide more reason to visit the “Ruins”, a variety of methods are under consideration regarding the “Ruins”.

- currently, the method of acquisition through interaction to obtain the Dragon’s Jade or the direction of obtaining compensation items through interaction if the ruins do not contain the Dragons Jade has been discussed inside of our dev team.

- We will decide the best way to improve this system and proceed the dev work during January.





2. Character animation




  • Improved Character animation

- We will improve and modify the general animation of characters in the game, such as moving, hitting, and while getting hit by another character.





3. Graphics & Sounds




  • Additional graphics resources for update

- The graphics resources required for the previously mentioned new features will be created and applied in accordance with the respective update schedule.


  • Complement existing graphics resources

- A complement of existing graphics resources will be carried out include the GUI.


  • Weapon Skins

- Just like the character costume in the game, the existing weapons will also be made with different concepts of skins.


  • Additional sound effects

- Additional sound resources that come out when hit by other Characters will be created during the dev schedule.





4. New function




  • Updates for the waiting system after the game match

- We’re currently discussing using the waiting system in various ways before starting the game for 60 seconds after the successful game match.

- During the 60 seconds, we’re planning to provide the functionality that allows the user to select their spawn location at the beginning or add cut-scene that shows high-rated users among the matched users.



  • In-game reward policies & related product development

- We will set up a policy on rewards to be paid after the end of each game round and the direction of a composition of the items available for purchase through the goods to be paid as rewards and carry out the related development.
