Hi everyone! It's been a while since we posted here. For those wondering how the game is progressing: everything is going well! We're nearing the end of development with four of the five routes finished: Cotton, Deadlock, Echo, and Lilco's.
To show you how the game has progressed since early 2021, which was the release of the last demo build, we've decided to release an improved version of the demo! This demo will give you a taste of what the final version will look like. :)
Speaking and non-speaking states' code has been changed We have implemented a much faster way to transition between characters who are speaking and those who aren't. This is thanks to a plug-in developed by Wattson called Auto Highlight.
Added sprites to the game
This version of the demo adds new sprites to the game. Agatha is the customer during the Candy & Rolls scene on Day One. Lilco’s voicemail now has its own sprite.
Fixed font scaling issue Before, there was an issue with the OpenDyslexic font's scaling. This issue caused the character names and dialogue text to sometimes go outside of the text box.
Fixed animation bug on Day One Track & Field
In the previous version of the demo, there was an animation bug that caused Lilco to pop into frame during the transition from the bleachers scene.
Fixed audio bug during Candy & Rolls scene Audio in this scene now transitions smoothly between the town music and the Candy & Rolls music on Day One.
Minor grammar fix
Updated dialogue during the scene in Clarke’s apartment on Day One.
The Demo is Now Live!
After 4 months of hard work, the Marble's Muse team are finally ready to show off what we've been working on! The demo includes:
20,038 words, which is approximately an hour of playtime
10 CGs
1 ending
Once you finish the game, please fill out this feedback survey. It's short and asks the basics, such as what you liked, what can be improved on, and if you ran into any bugs or technical issues. Your feedback will make the final product better. <3
Thank you everyone and I hope you enjoy A Marble's Muse's demo.
Demo Release Incoming!
You read that title right! A Marble's Muse demo will be on Steam and Itch.io by Christmas. I thought it would be a nice way to not only make the end of your guys' 2020 a little better, but also give you a taste of what to expect from the game.
The demo will cover days 1 & 2, which contains all of the common route & the bad(?) ending if you don't manage to make the correct choices with the cast. This is about 40% of the game! :)
For now, I will leave with this, an image that you will see in the full game!
Answering Questions Regarding the Game
Hey there, everyone! First of all, thank you all for wishlisting the game. We're currently on 71 different wishlists, a lot more than I was ever expecting. It's really nice to know that people are excited for a dating sim where you can date marbles!
Today, I'll be answering questions that I've received regarding the game. If you have your own question that's not on here, please leave it down in the comments. I'll be happy to answer them.
When will the game come out? 2021. I know that answer may disappoint some, especially for those hoping to get something positive in this terrible year. However, as a full-time college student juggling 20 other things in her life, it's very hard for me to work on this title 24/7. I promise you though, the game will be worth the wait.
How far you in development? It's easier to break this down in its own separate sections.
Writing: 20% Art: 34% Music: 100% complete!
Considering this turned from a simple idea to an actual project in a month's time, I consider this great progress. :)
Will there be any R-18 content? No.
Do you have any extra content planned? Originally, I did. Tony was going to be DLC content, but after giving it some thought and seeing how much my own fans in my Discord loved him, I couldn't put him behind a paywall.
I've been asked if there will be future titles and to that, I'm very happy to know that people already want more content with these marbles even months ahead of the game's release. However, that all depends on the game's success and a ton of people want it. Game development is a passion of mine, but it's also a very costly one. So, I need to make sure I can earn back what I put into the game.
