If you like fantastic pixel art, an oppressive, unnatural atmosphere, eerie music, flesh-spiders, [redacted], immolation, and vengeful all-powerful gods to whom we are less than ants, There Swings a Skull is, perhaps, for you.


I'm of the opinion that the writing in TSAS is some of my best work, and I'm excited to share it with you all!

It'd help our team out immensely if you'd be willing to wishlist our upcoming project! We've put a lot of love (and a conspicuous amount of blood) into it!

A Place, Forbidden Update 20200630
The previous update still had some remaining issues with achievement unlocks and the notebook which came down to conflicts with save data. Thank you to BabblingFishes and The Stranger for sending us reports which got us on the right track for solving the problem.

All Changes:

  • Fixed save data conflict when doing certain actions in a specific order
  • Fixed notebook progress sometimes getting reset
  • Fixed unlocks for the following achievements: "Doomed", "All the Pieces - But to What?", "Keen Eyed"
  • Fixed some objects displaying placeholder text when inspecting
  • Fixed FPS drop down resetting to 60 after being set to Unlimited
  • Fixed player collision with vent in Room 2
  • Fixed post processing issue that caused shiny materials to flicker and appear too bright

A Place, Forbidden Update 20200626
As some of you have noticed, achievements didn't properly unlock in the release version of A Place, Forbidden. This hotfix should solve this and a few additional minor bugs.

All Changes:

  • Fixed majority of achievements not unlocking
  • Changed name and unlock conditions of one achievement
  • Fixed bug where the keybinding menu could get stuck on the screen
  • Fixed typos
  • Adjusted volume of a few sound files
