it is my deep regret and news to tell you all Siren embers Gaming studio is closing down and both a sirens call vr titles will be taken down from the store. I am retiring from being a game dev. Because im so exhausted and tired. putting my all into a game and just hate comment after hate comment and people not realizing even the basics of early access. I am tired of alot of things. But I am going to retire from being a dev most of all. You all have a lovely life. and sorry i couldn't live up to the expectations

A Siren's Call VR Death Comes At Night is moving to a chapter system. the game will remain 9.99 and all chapters will be free. basically this allows me to work on huge sections of the game until full release while you the player can still experience the expansive story.

May Update Delayed

because of the size of the may update it is being delayed to mid june. the update is a MASSIVE overhaul of the game. and even implements the ending i need alittle time to get it ready and polished. The update adds alot of content including 2 hours of gameplay. A Free DLC Coming

Complaints

I have heard some of the complaints.
I was only looking at comments or criticisms that where helpful.
Please to those purchasing new. Please Read the early access form. The Early Access Form is for you guys to be informed before purchase. It Is for playing games early that are not ready for full release. I got some complaints that say that the game is unfinished and buggy. it is Early Access. I am also a solo game dev Though my Main Focus is a Siren's Call VR Death Comes At Night. It takes time for me to release huge updates. I will continue to be transparent, But Just keep in mind Early Access is to give Devs a chance to get funding as well as providing the game early for bug testing and Allowing fans to play early as well as finishing content. Games on early access are not finished titles. Because its EARLY ACCESS. Meaning The game is available EARLY. It is not ready for full release that's why Early Access is an option.. I have a road map available in the discord and I will continue to be transparent and free to answer questions. join the discord to know more facts about the game, As well as progress and future updates. PLEASE BE PATIENT
Now on to the point of the post:

-I have heard complaints of lag and issues with loading screens. I have began work on fixing those


-Unfinished levels are being addressed as well. The Game will be released in parts until it is fully finished.
The game is finished. But I need to go through each level and make it optimized as well as vr interactable. Meaning creating assets for levels which takes time. I also have to implement the new watch system and gun system to every level as well as the new voice line. I am redoing all the sounds since they broke in all the levels so that will take time as well

-The game will no longer support full body IK. It is to taxing on the game SO I am favoring VR hands to allow the player more freedom as well. I was using VRGK which is an amazing asset. But when ever it broke I didn't know how to fix it because it wasn't my code. So that is the reason. There is gonna be a brand new gun system and brand new vr system is because I plan to do it all in my own code.

Q: Is full body IK Gone Forever?
A: NO. In the VR Sequel I plan on adding Full Body IK back once I have perfected it in my own code instead of using a asset.

I guess I just spoiled the plan for a sequel. But that is alright.

-Guns will have cocking functions
-Shooting Ai
_zombie Ai will be fixed

Please keep in mind this game is a focus on the story not gun play

The major update coming will show for the first time the plot and voice lines of the story.

-A Very valid criticism came to light about there not actually being a lot of vr intractability. So I decided to change this . I am adding an interactable watch. as well as more and more vr objects to grab in the game. I am working on better lighting as well as light objects like lighters and candles. I will also be adding triggerable dialogue. and I am working on a vr subtitle solution since I am no longer using VRGK.


Q: I cant save my game
A: I am working on a save and load game feature how ever because vr is complex. It is taking me a bit to get it working.
It is in the game. But broken. I am trying to fix it. And get it working. But by full release it will be in the game.


and to those who asked about performance. I will be adding a option menu in the future to help with that.

Gun System Announcement

1. I am remaking the gun system from the ground up thanks to some tips and tricks From User, Thank you for that.

2. I will also be updating the games graphical integrity to that of the Unreal Engine 5. Using lumen I can create better lighting and VR situations at half the frame rate improving performance .

3. The gun system coming will now include attachments.

4. I also plan on adding shooting ai as well as a new reloading system.





This is going to be a major Update and frame work. I will Be getting rid of the full body system in favor
of VR hands for the story and gameplay it just creates unnecessary frame drops. So hand models Will be replacing the body for performance.

Dynamic Grabbing instead of Snap Grabbing will also be changed.

And Gravity pull will be removed until I can make it work with the new system.

Why the change?
With me being a solo dev I was trying to reach something of an emersion level that was unnecessary for the story.

This will give a lot of areas fps boost as well as no crashing do to physics

Will full body always be gone?
A: No Eventually with funding and Time I will be able to do it in the next installment. For now Hands are just the smart choice.
