When I first picked up this game, I thought it would be nothing more than a cute little romp with cute little dogs doing cute little dog things. However, I was surprised when the story turned out to be a deep, dramatic story filled with forgiveness, discovery, and redemption.
In fact, the entire time I was playing it, I considered it a more engaging version of The Hunger Games. I honestly don’t want to say too much, simply because of how much wonder and joy I felt going on this ride with Syd. I loved delving into her past, meeting the old dogs she had used, stepped on, and threw under the bus to get to where she is now. It was up to me, as the player, to decide how Syd would continue to treat her old friends and enemies going forward. - Switchplayer.net

We've put some effort into making an achievements guide for A Summer with the Shiba Inu.
A big disclaimer: there are MANY ways to get most of the achievements, and some of the logic is non-linear. As such, you can stumble upon endings without following the guide completely, if at all. For convenience, I've tried to include one possible way to get an achievement in the clearest way possible.
There are actually some ending variations that do not have an associated achievement, and might not be included in this guide. We encourage you to explore them as well, because there are more dialogue and backstory to be uncovered about the dogs!

Overall, A Summer with the Shiba Inu has a good lengthy story with twists and plots, the altering of reality, and modern themes related to advanced technology and one of the best visual novels I have played.
