The soundtrack contains more than 90 songs. Has both the modern and 8-bit versions.
Fixed bug with demo boss
Fixed a crash in the demo when losing to the boss during the laser attack.
New Gameplay Mechanics Added
After receiving feedback from players, I have agreed to add some important changes to the gameplay.
Items now home in on the player when they get close after about a half-second of spawning.
A sound is played when an enemy carrying a tome enters the screen.
The player gets extra coins from collecting items they can't carry any more of.
Vampires have been revamped with much less HP and stay invincible when spawning in.
Made various other enemies weaker and slower to balance the level difficulties and make it easier for the player to destroy as many enemies as possible.
Decreased the number of spades from large groups of enemies that were made weaker.
Fixed a few typos.
Added a better hint message at the bad ending screen.
None of these changes invalidate scores. If anything they should make it easier to get higher ones. I hope these changes provide a better gameplay experience. Enjoy!
Added fix to haunted skulls during boss fights
The haunted skulls used to give coins when destroyed during boss fights. This is no longer the case. This won't invalidate your high scores, just consider yourselves lucky.
Added a Walkthrough
Added a walkthrough for guiding players through finishing the game. Tells you how to beat story mode on easy and hard difficulty, and how to complete all the challenge levels and unlock all the cards.
Also teaches you how to get most of the achievements, reveals most of the easter eggs, and gives hints for very well hidden ones!
Fixed Other Challenge Boss Attacks
Fixed two other challenge boss attacks with challenge level 3 and made them easier and more fair.
Made one boss attack easier
One of the boss attacks was too difficult so I made it easier. It's one of the challenge bosses.
Added support for portrait mode screen resolutions.
Now screen resolutions where the vertical resolution is larger than the horizontal resolution will be supported.
Added Delta Timestep to Allow Consistent Game Speed
For the longest time, A2 Zygon used a fixed timestep of 60 FPS. This meant that when the game ran slower, gameplay time also ran slower, making the game easier when it shouldn't be.
This is now fixed. This is the last major fix before the game's final release December 1st, just 11 days from now.
The demo has been updated to reflect these changes, as well as a new hitbox sprite that is easier to see, and new default directional controls for controllers. You will need to press 'reset to defaults' in the control config menu to reveal them if you already played previous versions of the demo.
Also I have added achievements to the full game. Try to get them all!
Added a Tutorial, and more boss Animations.
Replaced the Training Mode with a Tutorial. The 'Training Mode' teaches all of the controls and what certain items are for. More boss Animations are added to give them more expressions.
