New Features
- The Most Wanted bounty hunting feature. Fulfill Most Wanted contracts, which can be found on the Most Wanted boards at the trading post, the Miner's headquarters, and in Corpse Creek.
- 'Light up the dark' questline with a new Biome: Snow Plains. This questline can be started at Shayan's candle-making station near the beehive in Kacheda Village, after you've completed the quests about gaining the pelt armor in the cold regions.
New Seasonal Decorations until January 10th
Make sure to go on adventures in Above Snakes until January 10th and collect Twinkle Stones (you will receive them at random by scavenging for resources). Collect enough of them to craft seasonal decorations that can no longer be crafted after that date! The crafted items will of course stay in your inventory. Dismantling those with the hammer will retrieve the item as a whole.

Patch 1.2.0 - New World Pieces, Japanese localisation and more!
Great news, adventurers!
We are happy to be able to ship another Above Snakes patch! As requested, with this patch we introduce a new language: Japanese! Those of you who are Japanese-speaking can finally enjoy Above Snakes in their native language! We also ship some minor bug fixes and two new world pieces with this patch.
Are we still missing another language? Let us know and we will check if we can add it!

- Hotkey button texts are now displayed correctly in all languages.
- Fixed that players can get stuck within crates behind the stores in Corpse Creek.

- Fixed that no interaction prompt is shown when interacting with deceased elders.
- Created new 3d models for the mountains in mountains biome (no stretched textures anymore and more consistent with the other biomes).

Big Summer Update & 20% OFF!
New Game Mode: Exploration
We added a new game mode as an additional way to play Above Snakes. The existing mode that you know and love will still be available of course. From now on we will call the existing mode Adventure and the new mode Exploration.
What is different?
In short, Exploration mode offers:
- A non-linear campaign - play through the stories in any order you desire or even in parallel!
- Total freedom, you choose which biomes to unlock first.
- Go on your own quests with your own goals in mind.
- Resources to unlock new biomes are calculated dynamically on which ones you have access to.
- Every journey can be different.
- The tutorial is skipped (no Hunter's Rest).
Although this new mode is very exciting, we do highly recommend to play Adventure mode first (for at least 5-10 hours) before starting a journey in Exploration mode.
The untamed wilderness of Above Snakes becomes your playground! Begin your journey equipped with nothing more than a tent and a couple of tools with no immediate quest at hand. However, you might already harbor a personal quest, such as venturing out onto frozen lakes for a session of ice fishing. Alternatively, you may seek the vast deserts, seeking the legendary Rusty Remington from Mr. Jones. Perhaps your heart yearns to explore the forests, in pursuit of hunting with a bow that's built with the bowstring at Stark's cabin. The beauty of it all lies in your hands as you decide how to shape your journey and determine your objectives. Whatever you prefer to do first, however you want to play the game - the choice is yours!
We are sure, that this new mode offers many new possibilities and interesting ways how to survive in each biome. Every journey is different. All of the stories (except for Hunter's Rest) are still contained in the game and can be unlocked at the player's choice. Most of them reward you with a new feature or item that will help you with survival.
Mountains Biome (the Wildcard)
In response to multiple requests, we are introducing an exciting addition to your map building capabilities: the mountains biome. Acting as a versatile wildcard, this new biome can be seamlessly integrated into your map, serving as both fillers and connectors. Mountains can be placed in (almost) any location, adapting their edges to match the surrounding biomes to ensure a visually pleasing result.
Upgrade Buildings
Another feature that has been desired by many players is the ability to upgrade existing buildings from one style to another (e.g. log to plank), without the need to tear them down first and then to rebuild them. With this feature you can replace those parts in place! This building upgrade, as well as all other features and changes, are available in both the Adventure and Exploration modes.

You are now able to see patch notes and news about the game in the main menu of Above Snakes.
Other Improvements
We also added a handful of quality of life improvements and bug fixes, such as item details being shown in storage chests.

- Upgrade Buildings - Instead of tearing a building down, you can use the hammer to upgrade each building part.
