Creativity Update

Full Editor Integration

The namesake of this update is the completely reworked editor, which is now completely integrated into the game.

  • Editor can now be launched from the main menu, standalone executable has been removed.
  • Much improved user-experience for the editor.
  • Walls can now be linked to spawn-circles via the editor.
  • Minimum capture count for spawn-circles can be set in the editor.

New Maps

There are also five new maps, made with this improved editor. They use features previously only known from the campaign, like minimum capture counts for the circles and walls that can be passed only by a specific team.

For example, the new two player map "Shortcut" has paths get considerably shorter for the team controlling the walls. The other new maps are "Torrent" for three players and "Quaters", "Sprawl" and "Vines" for four players.

Horde

After a few important balancing changes, the previous high-scores were no longer attainable in current versions. To make this possible again, there are a few changes:

  • The wave is no longer takes precedent over the score.
  • Score per kill base value doubled to 4 points.
  • Score per kill ramps up faster for kill-streaks, up to 50 points per kill in kill-streaks over 175 units.
  • Level score thresholds increased by 350%.

The first change also makes it possible to show the leaderboard on the steam community site again.

Other Changes

  • Fixed minimap capture state sometimes incorrectly showing in-progress capturing for other circles.
  • Network games can now be properly forfeited without disconnecting the server ungracefully.
  • Destroyed units now leave a glowing impact decal.
  • Previews of custom maps now show up in the lobby.

Version 1.0.14

Changes in this version:

  • Horde high-scores are now visible before a game.
  • Invites through Steam now work (only when the invitee has not yet started the game, for now.)

Version 1.0.13

This patch finally delivers a much needed stability improvement for network games: previously, when the server was sending too much data for the network, clients would fall behind, eventually making their games very unresponsive. With this new update, the server will detect the issue and slow the game down, giving the clients a chance to catch up.
Also, there are finally some balance changes, making other endgame builds, such as phase-bomb, more viable, and also forcing some more trade-offs, e.g. using either "Armament" or "Preloading" to get the full-damage "Ignition Point" later. With the kill streak bonuses you will, in general, have a lot more money available in horde.

  1. Slow down multiplayer-servers on net congestion, so clients can catch up.
  2. "Phase Efficiency" talent buffed: Now get 3x the power-ups and increases move-speed.
  3. Phased units are no longer affected by move-speed reductions.
  4. Fixed production-speed buff not being shown on clients.
  5. "Ignition Point" damage reduced to 50%.
  6. "Preloading" now also doubles the damage.

    Horde

  7. Fixed bonus funds after the waves not being paid out when also getting extra power-ups.
  8. Get less score for tank kills by default, increases to old value on kill-streaks.
  9. Get money for kill-streaks, and a lot more for longer kill-streaks.
  10. Waves timeouts are only stalled when killing 5 or more enemies.
