New member in the dev crew

-- Greetings, crewmembers,

We'd like to welcome a new member in the dev crew, Alexis Caroff !
Among other projects, he previously worked on "Puits de Potentiel" in the last Scientific Game Jam, on Phytomancer, and on "Hunting Grounds of the Great Spirit".

You can check his artstation page here: https://www.artstation.com/akaroff

Devlog - Level depth

-- Greetings, crewmembers,

Here is a new devlog, about the level depths. Levels now have two depths : the submarine and (most of) creatures, and the ocean floor.
Now, the gunner can launch bombs on the ocean floor, to excavate orichalcum minerals, enemies, etc. He can also send flares with a better graphical effect than previously.

Here is the result with a few bombs sent by the gunner:

As usual, you can read our roadmap at any moment.

End of transmission --

Devlog - Sonar mechanics

Devlog - Sonar mechanics have changed. There is now a "normal" view ; an "hydrophone" view which displays noise sources ; a "short range radar" which identifies enemies as dots ; and a "long range radar" which displays the map.

Next step is to improve gunner mechanics, with notably a torpedo customization by the engineer depending on the needs: specific damages, light turned on or off, variable radius... We'll be back about it in the next update!

As usual, you can read our roadmap anytime.

Play online with your friends

--Greetings, crewmembers,

Following community suggestions, economical model of Abyss Crew changes a little bit.
From now, only the host need a key of the game, other players can join a game with the free version, on both local and online play! It was previously possible only in local games, but this limitation has been removed.
The free version is available on the Steam page of the game, under the name of "Abyss Crew demo".
Remember though, as game host, you have the privilege to play the Abyss Master...

We hope it will help you to make your friends discover the game!

Abyss Crew Early Access release

--Greetings, crewmembers,

Abyss Crew is releasing today in Early Access, Thursday 30. April 2020!
Thank you for your patience and your support.

Some tips:

  • one key per player is needed for online play
  • one key is enough for any number of players in local play. Players can download the special version which can join a local game at this address: www.abysscrew.com/local-game (you can also find it on our Discord)
  • if you are less than 4 players, missing stations are handled by bots

If you want to give us some feedback, find a crew or just chat a little bit, join us on our Discord (discord.abysscrew.com).

It's time to embark into the abyss with your friends!
