🕷 Tulah Build Guide

“In the webs of fate, Tulah doesn’t struggle. She spins.”

[p]
Tulah the Spider Queen brings unique mechanics and powerful versatility to your party. Whether you’re healing under pressure, cursing enemies with Sanctify, or melting minds with Vanish-fueled spells, she thrives in roles few others can fill. This guide offers three builds that focus on her strengths; each sharpened by traits, perk paths, and card suggestions that will help you craft a deck worthy of her silk-threaded domain.

Big shoutout to @BinBin in Discord for teaming up with us on this hero guide! Their tips, feedback, and all-around brainpower helped bring this to life for the AtO community. If it saves your run or sparks a new build idea, make sure to show BinBin some love in the comments or over in Discord! 🔥 [/p][p]
🧭 This guide also includes quick TL;DR beginner notes, as we wanted to support both new players and seasoned veterans. Visuals and combo examples are provided throughout.[/p][p][/p]

⚙️ Perk Selection Basics

[p]• Always take Energy.
• Use Speed if needed to adjust turn order.
• Choose extra perks based on team synergy! Regen, Vitality, or Buffer are great for support builds.
• Spend remaining points on Resistances, Max HP, Shards, or Gold.
[/p]

🧡 Build 1: Healer Tulah

[p]
This build focuses on a minimal deck built around high-efficiency healing spells.. Rather than loading up on lots of healing cards, Tulah benefits from cycling a tight core of spells. Cards like Prayer of Healing become very effective when discounted by Omen of Peril and Holy Hatchery. Use vanishing low-cost cards like Clarity or Detoxify to further slim your deck while still supporting your team.
[/p][p]✅ Strengths:
• Leverages a small deck size for fast, repeated spell access.
• Prayer of Healing and Spark of Life scale well with Bless.
• Great adaptability when you need reliable healing and status cleanse tools.[/p][p]
🔧 Traits:
[/p][p]Holy Hatchery ➝ Temple Lurkers ➝ Cleansing Prayer ➝ Webweaver[/p][p]
🛠️ Perks:
[/p][p]• Core: Energy, Healing, Bless
Further Support: Powerful, Regen, Vitality, Buffer
As Needed: Speed, Resistances, Max HP, Shards, Gold

🃏 Core Cards:[/p][p]Healing: Prayer of Healing, Flash Heal, Benediction, Spark of Life, Omen of Peril[/p][p]Support / Dispel: Clarity, Detoxify, Dispel Magic, Delay Response, Healing Rain[/p][p]Utility: Fanaticism, Expected Prophecy, Meditate, Demonic Tutor, Scry, Fortune Telling

🔄 Play Pattern[/p][p]Begin by vanishing cheap support cards like Clarity or Detoxify to cycle quickly. Reach Prayer of Healing or Spark of Life, which should now cost less thanks to Holy Hatchery. From there, replay discounted cards over and over, while protecting your allies from debuffs and bleed.
[/p]

📘 TL;DR Healer Tulah: Quick Beginner Tips

[p]Small deck = consistent healing. Try to keep your deck below 20 cards![/p][p]• Omen of Peril makes healing spells cheaper each time you cycle your deck.
Clarity and Detoxify are perfect vanish cards to help you further reduce your deck.
Prayer of Healing heals everyone, and works great with Bless.
[/p]

✝️ Build 2: Holy Priestess Tulah

[p]This build turns Tulah into a Sanctify-focused damage dealer. Sanctify reduces enemy Holy resistance and heals allies. Tulah works best in teams that revolve around Holy Damage, as each charge of Sanctify increases everyone’s Holy Damage. She can apply Sanctify to heal up her allies while supporting her allies, or if you are looking for even more damage, she can combo with Fade to set up big AoE damage turns using Holy Storm.[/p][p]
✅ Strengths:
• Strong AoE burst damage with healing synergy
• Benefits from both support and DPS party setups
• Smooth transition between offense and utility roles[/p][p]
🔧 Traits:
[/p][p]Holy Hatchery ➝ Temple Lurkers ➝ Cleansing Prayer ➝ Webweaver[/p][p]
🛠️ Perks:
[/p][p]• Core: Energy, Holy Damage, Sanctify
Further Damage: Powerful, Bless, Stealth
Further Support: Buffer, Regen, Vitality
As Needed: Speed, Resistances, Max HP, Shards, Gold

🃏 Core Cards:[/p][p]Damage: Flash, Dawnlight, Holy Nova, Holy Storm, Radiant Assault[/p][p]Further Damage: Fade (amplifies AoE), Inner Fire, Holy Smite[/p][p]Support: Healing Rain, Delay Response, Dispel Magic, Anthem of Hope[/p][p]Utility: Fanaticism, Meditate, Demonic Tutor

🔄 Play Pattern[/p][p]Start by buffing Tulah with Energize, Inspire, or Bless. Then reduce their resistances with Sanctify before, setting up a Fade and unleashing powerful AoEs like Holy Storm or Holy Nova.. If played well, this build creates momentum that snowballs over time.[/p]

📘 TL;DR Holy Priestess Tulah: Quick Beginner Tips

[p]Buff Tulah first, then go all in with Holy Storm.[/p][p]• Fade makes your next spell much stronger, make sure to use it before big AoEs.[/p][p]• Sanctify lowers the enemy’s Holy resistance and heals your team, so stack it with AoEs!

*Here's a before and after showing how damage scales with more stacks of Sanctify! [TAG-210][/p]

🌀 Build 3: Deja Vu Tulah

[p]In this build, Tulah sheds her healing silk for threads of madness. She becomes a Mind-based damage dealer, fueling her power through Vanish; a mechanic where cards disappear from your deck during combat. The core of this build is Deja Vu, a spell that grows stronger the more cards you’ve Vanished. Doing this successfully means that Tulah can unload bursts of Insane damage that tear through resistances and sanity alike.

✅ Strengths:
• High-scaling damage that ramps with each Vanish
• Applies Insane, weakening enemy resistances and output
• Can flex into hybrid damage or support roles as needed
• Plays well with draw-heavy and vanish-friendly items[/p][p]
🔧 Traits:
[/p][p]Premature Hatching ➝ Mental Scavengers ➝ Pendulum ➝ Webweaver[/p][p]
🛠️ Perks:
[/p][p]• Core: Energy, Mind Damage, Insane
Further Damage: Powerful, Bless, Stealth
Further Support: Buffer, Regen, Vitality
As Needed: Speed, Resistances, Max HP, Shards, Gold

🃏 Core Cards:[/p][p]Damage: Dawnlight, Mind Blast, Deja Vu, Spectral Missiles[/p][p]Further Damage: Mind Twist, Clairvoyance, Foresight, Pandemonium[/p][p]Support: Clarity, Detoxify, Delay Response, Dispel Magic[/p][p]Utility: Fanaticism, Expected Prophecy, Meditate, Demonic Tutor[/p][p][/p][p]🔄 Play Pattern
Begin by flooding your Vanish pile with 0-cost or vanish-enabled cards like Clarity, Dawnlight, and Mind Blast. Use draw tools like Expected Prophecy to refill your hand and cycle again. Then cast Deja Vu for massive damage and Insane application. Clean up with Mind Twist or additional Mind spells.
[/p]

📘 TL;DR Deja Vu Tulah: Quick Beginner Tips

[p]• Deja Vu deals more damage for every Vanished card, so vanish early and often.[/p][p]• Look for draw cards (like Expected Prophecy) to help you chain turns.[/p][p]• Sanctify lowers the enemy’s Holy resistance and heals your team, so stack it with AoEs!
Insane makes enemies take more Mind damage and reduces their output—stack it against bosses.
• Items that draw and vanish are especially powerful in this build (e.g., Fishing Rods, Mixed Salad).[/p][p]
*P.S.: This build was our capture artist's absolute favorite out of the three!
[/p][p][/p]

🧪 Final Thoughts

[p]“The web doesn’t ask what you intend. It only holds or breaks. It’s up to you.”
[/p][p]Tulah isn’t defined by a role. She’s not just a healer, or a Sanctify spammer, or a Mind damage dealer. With the right deck, the right traits, and the right timing, she becomes the backbone of your run, whether it’s to keep you alive or be the sharpened edge of it.[/p][p]
You can choose to guide her threads toward restoration, revelation, or ruin and she’ll reward your precision.[/p][p]
🕸️ “Choose your thread. Then pull.”
[/p]

🌑 Adopted the Dark? We Were Born In It

Welcome back to our Weekly Challenge Report, Travelers!

You think darkness is your ally?
You merely adopted the dark.
This week… it fights back.

This week’s challenge plunges you into Pitch Black, where enemies still hit hard, move faster, and just won’t die—unless you outwit them.

XP is high. Visibility is low. And the heroes? They’re out here praying the next turn isn’t their last.

🕳️ What You’re Dealing With:

🌘 Darkest Night – All Dark charges go boom at end of the turn. Stack wrong, die loud.

❤️ Vigorous Monsters+25% HP. Everything’s bulkier. Including bosses.

🧠 Smart Heroes – You earn 50% more XP. Congrats. Now level up or get steamrolled.

💨 Fast MonstersMonster Speed +1. Hope you stretched for the new marathon.

🔻 Vulnerable Monsters – But hey, they’ve got -15% resistance. Try to bring raw numbers, not dots.

🛡️ Ironclad MonstersMonster damage taken reduced by 3. They feel nothing, so punch harder.

Enemies this week are essentially tanks with built-in turbo. You’ll need burst, brains, and more Dispel than you thought possible.

🛡️ Party Report – The Night's Watch:

💀 Malukah – Darkness incarnate. Applies Hexes and debuffs while soaking up every whisper of light.

🦎 Thuls – The poison-tongued predator. Slower than the enemies now, but still lethal with prep.

📖 Reginald – Sustain engine online. If he’s alive, the party isn’t dead. Yet.

🦌 Bree – Spiked walls and support. Built for attrition and holding fast against speed demons.

This crew isn’t here to light the way through. They’re here to outlive the dark, molded by it.

💡Tip of the week: Smart Heroes = Power Spike Potential.
You’re earning 50% more XP, so make it count. Prioritize early camp nodes and power cards that scale fast (like Evolving Thoughts or Adaptive Mutation). Stack resistance reduction and exploit Vulnerable Monsters with raw damage—not just clever combos.

🎁 Rewards From the Shadows:

Survive to the end of Act 3 and unlock:

• A card back stitched from shadows
• One carved in frost and bone.
Your reward for surviving the night? A reason to brag about it.

💬 Your Turn – What Broke First: Your Build or Your Spirit?

 • ☘️ Tell us, did you survive with 1 HP or wipe in Act 1?

 • 🐍 Did Thuls stack poison so high it broke the UI?

 • 📊 Did your team fall apart to one wittle enemy with a crit?

Give us your suffering. Your wipes. Your “I thought this was a good idea” moments. Drop ‘em in the comments—or join our Discord to huddle around the last glowing ember before it gets snuffed out.

You think this is the last of us? Tired of our weekly challenges? Just you wait.
We've got something special coming next week. 👀

🔥 Meltdown Protocol – Double Boons, Double Danger

Welcome back to our Weekly Challenge Report, Travelers!

The machines are rising. The heat is unbearable. The air crackles with arcane feedback and failed automation.

This week’s challenge, Rise of the Machines, drops you into constructs and pressure-cooked mistakes. Every room could be your last — unless your boons stack faster than the damage does.

The weather’s heating up. So is the map. Might as well melt with purpose!

⚙️ What You’re Dealing With:

🔥 Extreme Burning – Burn deals double damage if enemies have 2 or fewer curses. Stack smart, or catch fire fast.

💢 Contained Fury – Fury now boosts damage by +2% per stack, but no longer causes Bleed. Clean hits and heavy impact make for a good win.

🏆 Double Boons – boon you gain is doubled. You can snowball or combust.

🦁 Spiritual Monsters+10% resistance to Holy, Shadow, and Mind. These constructs don’t care about your sacred rituals.

❤️ Vigorous Monsters+25% HP across the board. Bring stamina and sustained damage.

🎲 LuckyEasier event rolls. A bit of good fortune where everything else really, really hates you. Like a lot. Sorry.

This is a challenge built for synergy and speed—you’ll need to punch through heat-hardened defenses and outpace the flame before the constructs rebuild themselves around your ashes.

🔧 Party Report – Forge Squad Alpha:

🐷 Ottis – Sanctifies, dispels, and sweats through it all. The healer who deserves hazard pay but doesn't get any.

👑 Cornelius – The firestarter. With Double Boons, he doesn’t burn enemies—he erases them.

🐻 Grukli – Smashes steel like it insulted his beard. Zero finesse. Infinite rage.

🐺 Magnus – The line between you and immediate death. Holds it well. Usually.

Together, they’re less a party and more a walking furnace with a healing pig in the back.

💡Tip of the week: Double Boons = Double Momentum. Prioritize cards and your heroes that can generate buffs quickly—Barrier, Energize, or even Fury chains. A well-timed Inner Fire or Fortify can snowball your run if stacked early.

Just don’t forget your dispels, and you might just survive long enough to see Act 3!

🎁 Rewards From the Depths:

Survive to Floor 3 and unlock two new card backs:

One forged in the inferno, and the other chilled by contrast—because even the machine gods respect balance.

💬 Post-Forge Debrief: Drop Your Run Logs!

 • 💥 Did Cornelius nuke an enemy with a cool card combo?

 • 🍖 Did Magnus stand alone while Ottis cooked on the back row?

 • 🧠 Found a double-boon combo that made you feel like a genius?

Let us bear witness to your triumphs, tragedies, and tactical errors this weekend and drop your tales in the comments below!

Drop your stories in the comments—or join our official Discord to swap strats, cry about how everything hurts and you need help, and/or argue over the best way to stack Fury.

This challenge doesn’t care how good your build is.
It only cares how fast you melt.

Sharpen your cards. Gather your courage, and we'll see you again next week for more.

—The ATO Team ⚔️

Weekly Challenge Report #3 – Chill First, Ask Questions Later

Welcome back to our Weekly Challenge Report!

This week’s challenge drops your party into an icy gauntlet—where every burn chills, every chill slows, and every mistake earns you double the bruises.

Welcome to Frozen to the Bone, a test of endurance, crowd control, and whether you can still think clearly while frozen solid.

🧊 What You’re Dealing With:

🔥 Frostfire – Burn now deals Cold damage andreduces Fire and Cold resistance by 0.3% per stack. That’s right—your fire chills.

❄️ Intense Cold – Chill slows you more aggressively: 1 speed loss per 4 stacks instead of 5. Chill control is a must.

💰 Prosperity – Gold and shard gain is boosted by 50%. Don’t forget to invest in your team wisely.

🐌 Slow Monsters – Enemies lose speed, too. Great for turn control and setup.

💉 Double Injuries – Taking damage past your limits? Expect two injuries for the price of one. Survivability matters.

👑 More Champions – Elite enemies appear more frequently. Build with flexibility and bring dispels—you’ll need them.

This is the kind of challenge where forgetting a cleanse costs you two injuries, your tank shatters like ice glass, and your best burn card ends up… well, cold.

🧾 Party Report – Expedition Briefing:

💀 Malukah – Support with strong Chill and Hex synergy. Keep her alive, she keeps you steady.
🦂 Zek– DoT and curse specialist. Slows and rot pair perfectly in drawn-out fights.
🐻 Grukli –Frontline bruiser. Protect him early, watch him punish slow enemies late.
💎 Evelyn – Cold-focused control mage. Scales well and locks down fights when it counts.

They didn’t dress for the weather—but they did bring a plague rat, a crystal cannon, and a whole lot of attitude.

Tip: Use the global slowing to your advantage. Plan around initiative, not just power. Cards like Chilling Touch and Cleanse effects go a long way here.

Watch out for champions with AoE debuffs—double injuries can destroy your run if ignored.

🃏 Rewards Worth the Frostbite:

Reach Floor 3 to unlock a chillingly cool card back—perfect for bragging rights and matching your frostbitten deck builds.

💬 Let’s Hear Your Cold, Hard Losses

 • 🧠 Got a strategy that saved your party from double injuries?

 • 🧠 Share your strategies, meme moments, or full-on wipe stories in the comments.

 • ⚔️ Discovered a combo that makes Frostfire actually fun?

We want to hear it—the good, the cursed, and the downright tragic. Drop your builds, lessons learned, or icy disasters in the comments below and let us know how your week went.

Then come thaw out with us in the official Discord, where we swap tips and weep over our losses in real time.

Next week’s forecast? Unknown modifiers, new ways of dying, and the same old suffering. Dress warmly. Play wisely. See you there.

Weekly Challenge Report #2 – Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Bleed?

Welcome back to our Weekly Challenge Report, adventurers!

Today, we're lovingly throwing you into the jaws of the week’s wildest modifiers and hope you survive to read next week’s. This time? The wolves are out—and they brought backup.

This week' s challenge is: Threatening Howls

It’s full of bleed, rich in gold, and dangerously slow. A fairytale gone horribly wrong.

🩸 What You’re Dealing With:

🩸 Hemorrhage: Enemies apply 2 Bleed charges that hit at the end of the turn, bypassing Buffer and Bleed Immunity. It hurts more than it should.

⚡ Energized Heroes: Every hero starts with +1 energy each turn, guess you got your dose of caffeine in!

🐢 Slow Heroes : Unfortunately, you're not winning any race today, -1 speed to your whole party. I don't make the rules.

🌪️ Elemental Monsters: All monsters gain +10% Fire, Cold, and Lightning resistance. Hope you weren’t counting on consistent damage output.

💰 Wealthy Heroes : You begin with +300 gold and shards. Great! Use it fast, before the wolves get you.

💉 Double Injuries: When you take an injury, you get an extra copy. Because clearly open wound wasn’t enough.

This is a challenge where you’ll want your healing sharp, your positioning smarter, and your defensive layers thicker than the straw house Ottis used to live in.

⚔️ Party Report – Field Notes, Day 1:

🐷 Ottis – Vital. Keeps the bleeding from turning fatal. Must protect him at all costs.
⚡ Wilbur – Sparks flying, brain humming. Slower than usual. Still irreplaceable.
🏹 Sylvie – Sharp. Focused, and everything she hits bleeds.
🦌 Bree – Unmoving, unshaken. If something’s coming for us, it’ll have to go through her first.

The woods are quiet. Too quiet. We’re 70% bleed stacks, 40% regret, and somehow still at -10% initiative.

🃏 Rewards Worth the Risk:

Reach the third act to unlock two wildwood-themed card backs and prove that you didn’t become the Big Bad Wolf’s chew toy this week.

 • 💬 How have your runs gone? Did Ottis squeal all the way home, or did Wilbur collapse under a pile of bleed stacks?

 • 🧠 Share your strategies, meme moments, or full-on wipe stories in the comments before this week's challenge event ends!

 • 🎮 Need help or moral support? Join us on Discord—we promise not to bite.

Next week brings a new twist, new suffering, and hopefully fewer wolves. Maybe.

Weekly Challenge Report #1 – The Floor is Lava

Welcome to the first installment of our new
*Weekly Challenge Report

—A quick look at what’s hot, what hurts, and who’s barely surviving it. Each week, we’ll highlight the current weekly challenge in the game, show off the party setup, and maybe toss in a few tips (or warnings) along the way.

*Yes, we know that there's only 2-ish days left on this one - don't worry! We'll be back with another one again this week. Just think of it as two for the price of one! Except it's free.

Anyway, let’s kick things off with a scorcher: The Floor is Lava.
You’re fast. You’re burning. And if you’re not careful, you’re very, very dead. ☠️

🔥 Here’s what you’re dealing with:

🔥 Extreme Burning – Everything’s on fire. Yes, even you.
💨 Ludicrous Speed – Blink and you miss a turn.
🏆 Double Boons – If you survive, you feast.
🦴 Spiritual + Vigorous Monsters– Enemies hit harder and don’t skip leg day.
🎲 Lucky – …but hey, at least the cards might love you?

🧙‍♂️ This Week’s Party:

🧠 Nezglekt – He knows all. Sees all. Also heals all, surprisingly.
💎 Evelyn – Crystal queen with enough arcane energy to power a small city.
🎻 Gustav – He buffs, sings, and yes, of course he brought the lute.
🛡️ Heiner – He’s the wall. He’s tired. He’s doing his best.

This run’s got tempo, pressure, and plenty of chances to get absolutely cooked if you lose focus. But if you make it to the third floor…

🃏 You’ll earn these:

Two card backs, plenty of loot, and bragging rights if you make it through without becoming delicious BBQ.

Hmm. Now I'm hungry.

 • 💬 Tried the challenge already? At the top of your game every week? Let us know how your run went in the comments below!

We’ll be back next week with another challenge. Until then: block often, buff wisely, and whatever you do… don’t stand still.

Good luck out there, adventurers.

Adventurers,

We’re excited to announce that Patch 1.5.0.1 for PC players will be rolling out next week with the following fixes.

Read the full patch notes below:

 • Fixed two issues that occurred in the Shores of Sahti when entering with a savegame from a version prior to v.1.5 and locked the progress of the game. This occurred when entering the Dreadgnought and visiting the Merchant's Pier or Military Pier and accepting the event.
 • Fixed a bug that closed the path in the Sahti Shores when performing a Critical Success or Critical Failure when entering the Loa Passage using the group option roll.
 • Fixed an issue with the Story Time event in Senenthia that showed a bit more replies than intended.
 • Fixed a display bug that increased the current Act number when entering a dungeon.
 • Fixed a bug in multiplayer that in Singularity mode allowed you to duplicate a card if it came from a corruption reward.
 • Increased the score limit for madness 17 and 18. Now they should appear correctly in the scoreboard.
