AD MOVERE - FIXED POINT Now In Development! + Time Twister Update

After several months of planning, Ad Movere Chapter 2 - Fixed Point is now in full development. After the initial release of the game, I was met with loads of helpful criticism, After taking it into account with no creeping deadline and rewriting some plot points, I am now incredibly confident in where I want the story to go, and hope that this new direction will make people happy!

While I tinker away at Fixed Point, I took the time to redo some of the game's UI, redo some dialogue and pacing, cutscenes (I quieted the vortex cutscene as most of you requested.), and have partnered with a brand new composer, the amazing Kanoa Ichiyanagi, who will be doing new music for Chiseled, as well as the other two episodes! I will always be forever grateful to my original two composers, Aidan O'Flynn and Hayden Ruffo, who did stellar work, but as the game takes a bit of a new direction, so must the sound.

To elaborate more on the new direction, the story will still be the same as promised in the summary, but will be formatted and directed differently than what was originally planned, this is to best have my vision come to light.

The changes in Chiseled will come as a free update that will come bundled with Fixed Point, which will also be free.

I'm aiming for a fall release! But don't expect this to be 100% concrete, as I want to take as much time possible now that I have more of it!

Thanks for reading, and I'll be posting more updates soon!

Ad Movere Chapter 2 Update + The Future

Hello everyone! I just wanted to post an update on what's going on with development.

Thanks for all the reviews and criticisms you've given me, I'm truly doing my best to make sure this is a great experience for everyone.

On the topic of the length of the game, the game in itself is fully written, it just needs to be developed. If I did not have the deadline I was given. This game would've been a full experience. Sadly, I had to split it into three chapters, which caused a lot of rewrites.

Now that I have time, I will actually be adding more content to Chapter One as the weeks go by. I'll be adding most of what I had to remove for time, and I'll be doing my best to make sure everyone gets their money's worth. So please, keep giving me feedback! I need all the criticism I can get.

Chapter 2 is currently in development, as it's already written. (Of course they'll be a few tweaks to the beginning due to me adding more content for Chapter One)

Thanks for reading! I'll be back soon with another Chapter One update.

Hotfix 2020.1.5

Hey ya'll, I just released a brand new hotfix to address some things your reviews and notices have stated:

- I have rewritten a few scenes and added some extra dialogue

- Made it so that if you encounter with Marcus does not go well, you don't go to the reality with his older self.

- I deleted persistent data that seemed to block the obtainment of achievements, so they should be working now!

- Worked on boosting performance.

That's all for now. I'm working very hard on Chapter 2, and I will frequently come back to improve chapter one if needed as time goes on! Thanks for your help guys! Any issues? Leave a comment down below!

Achievement errors

Hi everyone! Haru here, I've been seeing reports of achievements not unlocking for people, please let me know if it's not working below! And tell me your settings, if the game installed correctly, etc. I'm doing my best to fix any and all issues that are popping up. I'm currently troubleshooting this and will continue to do so for the next few days. So if achievements don't work, don't fret!

In the meantime, if you guys have any other bugs or issues with the game, please let me know! I'll do my best to fix them.

It isn't a launch day if bugs don't pop out at the last second, haha.

Release is upon us! + Update

Hi everyone! Haru here with a quick update before release.

Development HAS been a bit rocky due to the speed/rate I was getting assets back, (I'm working with a team of two artists who have very busy lives) because of this, and the impending immovable launch date (Valve would not let me delay any longer haha) I had to cut some content from the first chapter and put it into the second, as well as split the chapter into three chapters entirely!

This was not the plan, Ad Movere was intended to be a full roughly 2-3 hour experience that would expand due to multiple playthroughs, so I wanted to apologize for that!

If you think the length of the first chapter doesn't deem it worthy of a purchase yet at the price it's at, I totally understand! But this leads me into my next big news.

CHAPTERS 2 AND 3 WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AS FREE UPDATES, NO PURCHASES OR EXTRA PERKS REQUIRED.

That's right! I feel like it'd be kinda scummy to release such a short chapter and make the rest also cost money as DLC. So i'm doing this instead, I absolutely promise the other two chapters will be MUCH longer and less condensed. But your choices in chapter one still do matter, and they will impact the other two!

Thanks for sticking with me through this rocky development! I truly hope you enjoy this introduction into the world of Ad Movere.

First Developer Update, April 1st, 2020

Hi everyone! It's haru here with the first developer update.

I know I've been silent for a bit, but I wanted to get a good amount of work done so that I could have a big lengthy post to to share all the work I've done in the past few months, lots of things have changed as I'm sure you can see.

First off, I switched engines.

This was an extremely important decision to make as I wanted to make sure I was working in a game engine that would allow me to have absolute freedom over how my game works. And the possibility to add new types of gameplay elements in with ease.

I switched from Ren'py (the visual novel engine) to Unity. I know since this IS a visual novel my switch kinda doesn't make sense, but I also want to port the game to consoles, specifically the Nintendo Switch, and I know Unity has that capability. I also wanted the ability to integrate new features with more ease.

Second off, I switched art styles.

I was not happy with the art style of the game, and I disliked how Ingrid looked. It also significantly slowed my development time, and overall, doing the art myself was just not the way to go in my eyes.

The old, first concept of Ingrid, and the old Steam page capsule.

Fortunately enough for me, stellar artist and amazing friend Polygon joined me on this development journey to produce wonderful artwork for the game, as you can see below.

THE NEW ART STYLE (from Concept to Final Product)

The first concept of the new capsule, drawn by yours truly.

Poly's concept based off of the first.

Poly's second concept.

The final image.

As you can see, a tremendous upgrade. Check out more of Poly and his work here.

Poly has been hard at work on the art and I couldn't be more happy and proud. I can't wait to share more once he finishes.

Speaking of which, I also have some sprites for Ingrid's new design which are absolutely bodacious.

Ingrid's looking pretty adorable here, don't you think?

CLOSING REMARKS

All in all, development has been going exceptionally well, though I still need funds for specific prospects of it, as a result I've been pitching the game to multiple publishers and waiting for their response.

I thank you for reading this development update! Me and my small but passionate team are working hard.

I think you'll love the game, especially it's music, it's really something else. Who knows, we might have some surprises up our sleeves.

(Quick detour to appreciate the game's composer, Ocoenia, she's an amazing musician and artist, check her out here!)

Thanks for reading! Here's some fresh in progress sketches of some new sprites from Poly.

Addressing some questions.

Welcome to our Steam launch! As you may have read from the title, you have some questions I, Ashley Graham, lead dev, can awnser.

Q: What is up with the system requirements?:
A: This was due to the game being scaled at UHD. It has been scaled down to 720p and should only take up 400 MB of your RAM.

Q: What about the nudity? How will I stream this?:
A: There will be a build of the game with censored nude parts. So that you can share your experience of the game with the world!

Q: Will the Etika model look better than it does at the moment?
A: Yes it will. It's being polished at the moment.

Q: Are all the renders in the current screen shots final?
A: Yes and No. Some will be remade and touched upon.

Thanks for following our development. More news soon!
