Somehow, we're already nearing October...when did that happen? Luckily, that means we have another monthly round-up for you! Shall we dive straight in?
Demo Update
September saw an update to Adapt's demo, featuring some exciting new additions and improvements to the game! There are now new ways to earn those precious DNA points as you're playing Adapt, including killing enemy creatures, having your offspring reach adulthood, and befriending other creatures as you roam around. This comes at the perfect time, as we also added brand new parts to the creature creator - have you had the chance to try them out yet? You can see the full changelog for this latest update here, or simply update your game to try it out if you haven't already.
Creature Creations
Of course, we had to include some of our favourite user-created creatures at the end of our monthly round-up! Let's take a look at what the community have been creating this month...
First up, we have this 'semi aquatic insect eater' and 'plant mimic' by Azedo on Discord - it spends most of its life in the water, but will move to land if the food is scarce, so keep an eye out!
Introducing Proceacanth by younastyworm on Discord! Another insectivore, Proceacanth also roams the water searching for prey.
You'll never go in the water again when you spot this creature by fisch on Discord! This shark-like creation is enough to have us running for the beaches...
That's everything we've got for you for September, but come over and join us on TikTok, Facebook, or Twitter for all the latest news.

April Round-Up!
Hey creature creators!
We know it can be tough to keep up with what your favourite games have got going on, so we're starting a new monthly round-up of all the latest from the world of Adapt.
So, without further adieu, let's take a look at what we got up to in April, shall we?
Earth Appreciation Festival 2024 & WASD London
Adapt took part in two incredible events last month, Earth Appreciation Festival 2024, and WASD in London, both of which brought lots of new wishlists to our game; whether you're new here, or you've been following along from the beginning, we appreciate anyone who takes the time to try our demo and wishlist the game!
Creature Creations
Of course, we couldn't do a monthly wrap up without sharing some of our favourite creature creations from the incredible Adapt community, could we?
This first incredible creation comes from shekus_khan on Discord, and is called the 'Farquadasaurus primigenus'. A small but mighty creature (just look at that tail!), predators had better stay far away...
Our second creature creation comes from Lance on Discord. This adorable creature might be large, but we think its poofy lil tail makes it plenty cute, too.
Want to be featured in one of our monthly round-ups? Come and share your latest creatures on our Discord!
That's all for this month's wrap-up, but come over and join us on TikTok, Facebook, or Twitter for all the latest news.
Adapt is taking part in Earth Appreciation Fest 2024!
Today marks World Earth Day, an occassion where we mark the importance of our planet and the factors that are impacting it. But with human-made issues such as climate change, pollution, overpopulation, lack of sustainability, and conflicts, it's a stark reminder not to take our planet for granted.
That's why we're taking part in Earth Appreciation Fest 2024, which contains both post-apocalyptic games that remind us of what we stand to lose, and nature-based games to help celebrate the incredible bio-diversity of the planet we call home.
You can check out the full range of games taking part in Earth Appreciation Festival here.
Psst! Don't forget Adapt is also exhibiting at WASD 2024, where you'll be able to try out the latest build of the game from 25th - 27th April!
Adapt Demo Update
Patch Notes - 0.49.1a
The key focus of this update has been laying the foundation for long-term player progression, with the primary time investment being the development of the upcoming questing system. With this update, you’ll see the first piece of this system, in the form of tutorial quests, and the Quest Manager! Additionally, I’ve taken some time to implement a few fun additions I’ve been playing with for some time. Discoveries, Shelters and Claims, are all new features which are a bit simple in this first release, but add some really interesting gameplay by giving animals more ways to interact with the world around them. It’s worth noting that I’ll be further developing these mechanics in future updates, but would love to hear your feedback in the meantime. Finally, this update adds an important accessibility feature and QoL improvement that has been highly requested. Key Rebinding! So get in there and rebind some keys. *Note that there are some limitations to rebinding controller keys that I plan to improve as soon as I have the time.
