GENERAL - Small localization errors were fixed.
MONSTERS - We added new effect for Shadow's attack. - Maybe we finally fixed this bug with Shadows' rats. Honestly, we tried to do it at least 5 times, but they still don't want to do what we want them to. At some point they even tried to run away with Shadows!
CHAPTER REPAIRMAN - Some fancy light blinking added in random places. - Possible bug with floor's incorrect identification in "TV" quest was fixed. - Some screamers duration was increased.
CHAPTER OTHER GIRL - "Neverending earthquake" bug caused by Other Girl's screaming was fixed. - You can no longer lock the game process during "hopscotch". This error's conditions were so complicated, that it was very difficult to discover that it was possible at all.
HOTFIX (October 9th)
GENERAL - The list of objects hiding the Infection was changed. - "YOU DIED" screen was updated. Now it's white. Why? Well, it kinda looks prettier, but no longer reminds of "Dark Souls". Although, it didn't really look like it before.
CHAPTER REPAIRMAN - We fixed a bug, which could affect "TV" quest's progress, if you are extremely "lucky". You will understand, if bad luck is your friend. - [COOP] Final quest experience in chapter Repairman was improved.
CHAPTER GIRL - We fixed an error causing incorrect display of current task.
CHAPTER MEDIC - Your chance of getting "Recorders" quest was changed. It did look like a good idea. - List of sounds triggering the Blind (monster) was updated.
Big and fat patch (October 7th)
- MONSTERS SPAWN BALANCE WAS CHANGED Game became friendlier and easier. Hopefully, we didn't hurt hardcore lovers' feelings. - Batteries/bullets can always be found somewhere nearby now. - Flashlight can work longer. - Batteries/bullets are added to the "inventory" much quicker. - New notes describing monsters were added.
GENERAL - Game controller sensitivity got calibrated - Character controls improved - Interaction with objects improved. Picking up objects was significantly improved. - Character's vision was cured (he/she is less short-sided now). - Strange lighting artefacts were fixed. They were really strange indeed, thus we fixed them. - Stamina recovery speed was increased - Lighting was fixed. But only in some scenes. Where it was necessary. - New icons for unique interactions were added - "Irrelevant" notes get deleted now - We added sounds to "YOU DIED" screen - We fixed an error which made some monsters ignore the player. - [COOP] Getting revolver and flashlight icons were added. - [COOP] Large props' are now displayed as they should be. - [COOP] Occasional interface disappearing error was fixed
MONSTERS - Hungries' move speed was decreased. It is easier to run away now. - Hungry is less likely to teleport after first shoot. - Hungry's respawn time was increased up to 4-6 minutes. - Hungry's ability to turn off light and flashlight is visually more obvious now. Yes, he was always capable of doing this. - Infection "evaporation" bug was fixed. But still be careful when you pick up objects. Infection can be anywhere. - Infection's visual effect was updated. What exactly was updated? No idea, but rumors say it got better. - Now you can see what happens when you pick up an infected object. - Shadows' attack radius was decreased. You can pretty much bump into them now.
CHAPTER GRANDMA -We added a cool wow-moment. But it won't work if you have already played the chapter - More hints added. - Box with batteries is in a different place now. It was necessary.
CHAPTER REPAIRMAN - Mechanics of throwing quest objects into the garbage chute was improved. - TV can't now longer become invisible and wander around the floor on its own. - 4th paint brush was added. You know, just in case. - Maybe we did increased the time in "switch boxes" quest, but no one remembers for sure. - We made the tasks “clearer”. - Now you can listen to music behind Repairman's door forever. Fo-re-ver.
CHAPTER GIRL - Atrium was slightly frozen. Some "freezing" is expected XD - Audio was updated. It has to do with "freezing". - Lighting improved. - Extra lighters were added. - Some gameplay parts were simplified.
CHAPTER PHOTOGRAPHER - Door 58 is updated. - Main menu now is only active in Main Menu. - Randomness errors were fixed.
CHAPTER MEDIC - New screamer was added. - Now it's easier to find mannequin parts. "Left hand" problem was solved. - More save checkpoints were added. - "Surprise-box" was added. - She will take away your flashlight and revolver. At least some suffering is still here.
Update (September 24th)
GENERAL - Added indication of a new chapter start. If you want, you can now play chapter by chapter. - Added defeat notification. It was there initially, but our testers said it wasn't necessary. Turned out, it was, so we brought it back. - Enemies no longer spawn in close proximity to the player. - [COOP] Hungry (transparent monster) now choose more "dangerous player" as the object of his affection. For example, if Hungry caught one player and second player saved him, then Hungry will switch to the resquer, since he has both weapons now. This way if monster cornered a player, another player can redirect Hungry's attention to himself. Or just leave his friend to die. - Optimized textures and materials. No more blurry vision. - Added Discord link - [COOP] You can no longer teleport on second player's head. Such a shame, it was fun.
CHAPTER REPAIRMAN - Improved feedback for improper actions in final quest, hope you will get it now. - We updated repairman's burnt shoes. No idea why. Just because we can. - Fixed possible stacking of the player while drilling the door
CHAPTER OTHER GIRL - Hidden hint for the first quest is added - We fixed a bug occasionally preventing you from getting Maximum Pain achievement. Loco Parentis (aka Adoption) - is the horror game where you up to help a little girl to find her mother. Everything from the best of horror genre: ugly horrible corridors with dim light, terrible sounds, crazy neighbors, mistic characters which love to appear very suddenly (to make you scare, obviusly). You can go to find mom alone, but we strongly recommend you to take fearless friend in co-op (or a complete coward, depends on what friends you have)
So, two good reasons why playing Loco Parentis in co-op are cooler than alone
This is funnier (and scarier)
It's like Shaggy and Scooby meets swamp monster. Did you ever was locked in limited area full of weird stuff with your best buddy? Good chance to catch him screeching in fear when critter suddenly appears. You can remind him about that till the rest of the life. Be ready for negate side - it statement works in both directions. To research areas together - try to split out to investigate different levels, or you can play bad-guys gang to pass through one appartment at a time using 4 hands and 2 heads (well, we can't say for sure wich way works better). Sсreamers are not always affect both players. Very often one of you will experience deep horror and "enjoy" mystic sounds, while second player will know nothing about that being in relative safity. One thing is for sure - no one will leave the game without been scared
More chances for success completion
Loco Parentis full of secrets and puzzles. More brains - more gains. You will have better chances to collect all messages, solve puzzles and to find right solutions. Together you will effectively seek and loot batteries and ammo (you will be short of it frequently). Additionally, in single mode you will have less opportunities to escape from the monster, which will lead to your doomed game over. In coops you will be able to scare off or kill the monster, when it already reached your friend and holding him or her in it's claws. Just stop laughing watching your silly buddy dangling in the paws of an unknown creature and take the gun in time
