The level cap has been raised to 35! Just in time to visit Sekt’s Temple. At last! Board the sandskiff with Skiffmaster Squint into the Valley of the Undying King!
Squint’s Skiff Adventure
Man the harpoons! If you want to get to the pyramids in one piece, Squint and Gil will need your help to protect the skiff from the Sandsea desert’s most fearsome monster yet… the Sharken! Dagger has created an exciting first-person shooter-type experience. Fight creatures on the boat and gather supplies in between Sharken sightings where you will man a harpoon. Clicking a harpoon allows you to fire at the Sharken in a first person perspective. Performing a non-attack action will let you resume control of your character.
Sekt, the Undying Pharaoh
No spoilers, but Sekt is not a pharaoh to mess with. Stand your ground against his personal guards and he will consider your request for help in finding the magic lamp. Of course, being granted a favor by Lord Sekt comes with strings. He wants you to deal with his Zhoomer problem first.
Level Cap Raised to 35!
After completing the story, you’re going to need some new armor to go with all of that new XP! Simmi-Tar has you covered with new level 35 Mastercraft armor and weapons. If you’re not ready to head back to Bastion yet, Fahad can make you a full level 34 set of armor and a weapon made from… Cacti??? Level 35 is also our new endgame, so check out our posts on Item Infusion and Capstones to learn about all of the cool new endgame content available with this release.
Item Infusion is our newest and most exciting feature in AdventureQuest 3D. It’s also a little complex... So Blaze, the dev behind it, shared the details with me in an interview. Read on to learn about Item Infusion.
Glisel: Today we are going to talk specifically about Item Infusion… or item fusion…? Blaze: It’s Item Infusion.
Glisel: I don’t know if you know this, but item fusion was what we originally had in mind in the AQ3D Kickstarter where you can combine a cosmetic with a stat item or a lower stat item with a higher stat item to keep the better stats, but that became our current build where you can just equip a cosmetic over a stat item instead. Blaze: I actually didn’t know about item fusion. It’s kind of funny that I came up with it totally independent of that.
Glisel: So… What was, or is, your goal with this feature? Blaze: The goal is to… give players something to do at endgame and reward them for logging in every day and really staying dedicated to the game. This is for the hardcore players who want better stats. Now they are able to do that with Item Infusion.
Glisel: Now let’s go into details. In PTR there was a level requirement of 35 to access this feature from Cysero’s shop. Is the level requirement staying? Can you see the option to infuse your weapon at Cysero’s shop if you are below that level? Blaze: It is not staying. It was doing that so we can test. It is a system that you can infuse at any level you want. So if you’re level 10 and you want better stats, you can do that. This system is an upgrade to the power offset system that I created a while ago. Some people were confused by the plus on an item. It increases the power of items when they drop from NPCs. So, like, a level 15 item would have a certain power of like 100, let’s just say. If you were almost level 16 and killed a monster at level 15, it would drop an item at the power of almost 16. So it would level with you. So that’s what the pluses were. Those are staying but you can now use the infusion system to top it off.
Finally! Get Healer class now in AdventureQuest 3D! We’re really proud of Healer. The goal was to have more heals compared to other supports and really strong buffs. Focused almost completely on empowering the party. It was always about healing those players and buffing them. We wanted one skill to feel super strong, a massive attack that feels really good. Because it is limited to buffing your party, we were able to make it more powerful. It should feel really good in a group, but also solo-friendly. We defined what we wanted beforehand and designed with those aspects in mind, so newer classes, including Healer, have been smoother in bringing them from concept to release.
In the official Healer Class post, AdventureQuest 3D Dev, Rabblefroth, gave us the details on what’s new to these support classes and what it took to create the Healer class.
This week's release is a huge one! Good luck being on of the first to achieve level 35, obtaining the new healing class, trying weapon infusion, and exploring the newly unlocked story areas of the Sandsea!
Coming Next Week
We can see the finish line for Dage's big birthday release. Keep an eye out for another incredible update!
See you in game!
Battle on! Artix, Glisel, and the AdventureQuest 3D Team
Find 2 new armor sets in your Daily Treasure Chests
Login to AdventureQuest 3D and check the treasure chest to see if you score a piece of our newest armors, the Wasteland Exile and the Bygone Zealot King sets. We think the artist Thyton outdone himself with these. Don't want to wait to sport these new looks? Cash in those Treasure Shards at the Chest Shop to get the full sets today!
Oh, hey mobile players! We added the ability to create a bridge that you can use to go over the parkour challenge in the Sandsea Aquifier. Finish up this adventure before the Sandsea Saga continues next week!
Hope you are excited for next week's big release! It needed a little extra time to cook in the oven before we served it.... so everything will be releasing all at once next week. The level cap will increase to level 35. All players will be able to obtain the new class, Healer. It is a super fun support class.
And the new healer class will be handy as you take the sandskiff out to the pyramids to finally come face to face with the Pharaoh Sekt. There will be new monsters, and new battle mechanics as you search for the Sandsea's most wanted rebel leader, Zhoom! Additionally, Item Infusion will be added to Cysero's forge. Item infusion will allow you to power up your statted items by infusing them with runes.
If you want a sneak peak of item infusion now, you can try it out now on our PTR testing server.
Also next week... we are getting a shiny new icon!
See you in game.
Battle On! Glisel, Artix, and the AdventureQuest 3D Team
A Heatwave Hot-fix! Along with the 5 new craftable items, and environmental damage in the Sandsea Desert, we also added a few bugs. This patch fixes them!
* Daily Quest UI now works properly after all tasks are complete * Dev embarrassment reduced by 13.5%
Heatwave! Sandea Weapons are so hot right now.
Heat Wave & 5 New Craftable Weapons!
Hunt for 5 new weapons... but beware, the Sandsea desert is under a heat wave warning. Stand in that blazing sun, and you will start taking damage. If I were you, I would fill up with water bottles before going out into the desert. The desert heat will make you faint. You should also consider activating a checkpoint -- a blue stone floating atop a pedestal. You'll see them in safe areas across the desert.
Activating a Check Point will enable you to return to its location on the chance that you do faint in the desert.
Beat the Heat with Water Bottles and Moglinade
Bobby B knows you shouldn't stay out in the sun too long without a refreshing drink, so he's got some Water Bottles for sale that will temporarily help you beat the heat. Fahad and Dahlia have stocked up on water bottles too so you can get refills on your quests. If you're up for a challenge, Bobby could also use your help in creating Moglinade, a potion that keeps you hydrated for longer than a regular water bottle. Finish the quest to make sure Fahad and Dahlia are stocked up on Moglinade too!
Revisit Simmi-Tar's shop to craft five new weapons.
Sand Doom Staff
Sandsea Skewer
Sand Shark Reaper
Sand Doom Staff
Scarab Pincer Claws
Note: Mastercraft versions of these items will be released for crafting in a future release!
Weapon Crafting Materials
Sandestine Alloy - You already learned how to create this powerful alloy from helping Craig the Intern at Nigel's Office. Return to complete his daily quest "More Sandestine Alloy" to craft more.
Bastion Bucks - Yup! "Keeping the Aquifer Clean" for Paul DeRonn is the best way to earn a quick 100 bucks. Simmi-Tar also will also pay you 80 bucks for "Scouting Some Weapon Parts".
Monster Materials - Each weapon's design is inspired by a different desert creature so they each need materials from that creature. Head back out to the desert... or perhaps you've been saving them up from previous quests.

Sandsea Saga Part 2: Just Deserts
New Story release & level cap raised to 33!
The level cap has been raised to 33 and we just released the biggest area in the world. Explore the vast desert of Sandsea with it's new monsters and many mysteries. Even the VoidKing and his minions have taken an interest in this place. Journey to the Sandea town of Bastion to continue your adventure.
The Sandsea Saga continues
You’re starting to grow on the half-croc General Gaspar, but you haven’t won his trust yet! With Gaspar’s guards still recovering after doing battle with you, he needs someone to head out into the desert to solve problems affecting Bastion. There is a missing delivery, a missing person, invading foes, and who knows what else... you'll find out on your way to level 33!
Meet Skiffmaster Squint
You want that magic lamp? The only way you're going to get it is to take a sand skiff out to the pyramids. That's where Skiffmaster Squint comes in. He's the luckiest skipper in the Sandsea. Well, he was until his first mate ran off with his lucky compass. Retrieve the compass and the kid, and he'll get you safely to the pyramids.
The main story returns! You have competition for the magic lamp.
NEW! Side Quests and NPC shops

Gaspar wants to bring a smile to the faces of the children of Bastion. Care to help him out?
Nigel Fuzzybum hasn't forgotten that you were supposed to clean the graffiti from the statues...
Hot Plate has opened his food shop! Bring him some ingredients and he'll cook up some powerful meals.
Simmi-Tar is now selling weapons for cold hard gold coins, but he'll also whip up something fancy for some Bastion Bucks and bits of monsters you killed in the desert.
Also... If you enjoy learning history and lore, Nigel Fuzzybum knows of some lost Sandsea scrolls that may have a clue to your quest for the magic lamp.
The new Sandsea desert is the largest area in AdventureQuest!
Last Chance
We will be removing Mogloween/Mystcroft and Talk Like a Pirate Day seasonal content with next week's release to make room for upcoming seasonal releases.
Thank you & coming next...
Beware the Sandsharks! We hope you love this new (bigger, better, longer) release in AdventureQuest 3D. The healer class is coming soon (it is going up for testing shortly). So is Dage's birthday event, and the continuation of his saga where we will encounter the "assassin" Zhoom, the eternal Sekt, ride the Sandskiff, and step inside those treasure filled pyramids.
Dinner's over... ready for DESERT!

The Egg hunt is on!
There is still time to get in on this year's April Fool's stuff. Players are spawning Gimmics and running live events in game. We are keeping as many AdventureQuest 3D events active right now as possible to make sure you have lots of things to do. (Also, the next part of the Sandsea Saga is up on the PTR for testing this weekend. Releasing next week!) See you in game and...
Egg Hunt on! Glisel, Artix, and the AdventureQuest 3D Team
No joke, Piddie the Fool just arrived in town. This disgruntled harlequin is peddling a man eating treasure chest that drops loot including his armor pieces, fools gold coins, and delicious... juice pack potions? (New from the makers of Mutatium!)
Live Events throughout the day on April 1st!
The AdventureQuest 3D team (and prominent members of the community) will be running mini-anything goes live events and dropping bonus chests throughout the day on April 1st. You have been warned. They will start at 9am EST, happen sporadically through the day, and end when I fall asleep from exhaustion at my keyboard.
New Juice Pack Potions "Smell the Rainbow!"
Try 4 new delicious flavor potions from the makers of Mutatium! You remember mutatium right? Those potions from last year that chaotically changed the size of everyone's body parts. Hordes of unsuspecting players thought the game was broken filling Player Support with bug tickets, " "OMG! Why does my character look weird!?" Either way you will be happy to know, we came up with far worse potion ideas!
All new delicious flavors!
Musical Fruit Juice Blended from savory beans, yogurt, kimchi ,eggnog, mustard-relish, prunes, pre-pro-post-biotics, and bran with our atomic ghost pepper hot sauce. 1000% more fiber than other leading brands.

Skittal's Unicorn Juice - "Smell the rainbow!"
"Smell the rainbow!" Made with 100% organic sparkle fairy dust, magic lollipops, and pink-eye flavors. Not made with real Unicorns. Probably.
Fool's Gift
A Mimic is a monster that looks like a treasure chest but reveals its teeth and tries to eat you (or worse) when opened. Piddie the Fool is selling "The Fool's Gift" for 1,000 DragonCrystals. But this gift is really a mimic... a Fool's Gimic. Hahahaha..... although you will be delighted if someone spawns one near you. The Fool's Gimic always drops Fool's Gold Coins but has small chance of dropping juice pack potions, and a very small chance of dropping a pet, armor piece, or a special mystery item. Take your Fool's Gold Coins to Piddie to buy Fool's Day items.

The Sandsea saga has just begun in the town of Bastion
The level cap has raised to 32 and the new town of Bastion has opened in the Sandsea desert.
Valencia is waiting for you in Bastion with a lead on an artifact that may help to defeat Vane. Bastion is closely guarded from outsiders so equip your best level 31 gear and prove your worth to General Gaspar, the leader of the town guard. He has some ideas of how you can make yourself useful...
https://aq3d.com/news/thesandsea/
Travel to Bastion and Level Up to 32!
Talk to Scratch at the base of the bridge in Battleon to get to Bastion. You'll know him by his colorful Sandsea garb... and his feline features. If you aren't in Battleon, open your Adventure Menu to quick travel there. This area is for you level 31 players to level up! Now you can put all those experience points into leveling up to 32, the new level cap!
There is Something in the Water
No. Really. Something is poisoning the well water. Aveleon has created another challenging dungeon for your excursion down the well. You will encounter new monsters including sneks, beetles, and a poisonous water monster. Bring a friend.... and don't fall into the water.
Colorful Sandsea Clothes
Talk to Paul DeRonn after you complete your quests to buy and craft colorful Sandsea armor and outfit pieces with stats. His Armor and Outfit Shop has a light Star Hood and comfortable Foot Wraps for gold. Earn Bastion Bucks from Paul's daily quest by "Keeping the Aquifer Clean" and pick up Vials of Slimy Residue from the dungeon monsters. Take them to Paul's Crafting Shop to get various colorful armors and belts perfectly designed for the desert heat.
New in AdventureQuest 3D Version 1.68
The game just keeps getting better every week. The fan favorite feature of this release are the immersive NPC chat bubbles. See NPCs react to story-related changes in their environment and even talk smack during battle. This feature is only on some of the NPCs in Bastion and Battleon but we intend to give every NPC chat bubbles in the future.
New reconnect feature!
NPCs now have speech bubbles
Lootbag improvements
Quests are no longer level capped
Necromancer summons now work in PvP
Area of Effect telegraphs will now appear correctly
Tons of small, handy fixes too!
Coming next...
Wow! Thank you. It has felt really good seeing how much everyone is loving this new town and release. As I write this, the first players are already hitting level 32. This is just the appetizer... get ready for the desert. The Sandsea is our largest area in the game spanning pyramids, oases, and other treasure-filled locations. This next part of this new saga is scheduled to drop in 2 weeks. Because next week is one of our community's favorite (sorta-technically-a-holiday) Holidays, someone is creating a terrible new kind of potion.
