Added German Localization
Added Japanese Localization
Added Chinese Localization
Added Korean Localization
Added 6 new achievements
All the best!
Patch 1.06
A friend came to me today with an issue with super long loading times. Turns out when FPS is capped at 30, it had all sorts of unforeseen side effects. Also took the opportunity to optimize a few things.
Resolved an issue where levels would take a long time to load when FPS was capped at 30
Repaired some error messages which could help with performance in the Excavation area
Slightly improved performance on new portals
Peace!
Patch 1.05
Peace in,
Here's another quickie patch, this one finally (hopefully) solves the floating light paths issue as well as a couple of other things. More patches to come as new issues are brought to my attention.
In "Isolation Cube" in the Vivarium, the light path for the button should no longer be floating
Colliders for both extending bridges have been raised, to prevent jumping over the door
Completing the game under 3 hours while using auto-complete will no longer trigger the speedrun achievement
Repaired the look of the back button in the "Player choices" menu
Everyone have a great weekend! ^_^
Patch 1.04
Hey guys,
Apologies for the delays but I've been with family for the past few days. Some really good finds by the community on this one, thank you to everyone posting comments in the Community section, I read them all and I'll try to address as many of them as possible.
Rebinding the E key now works properly
In Step out into the Sea (Vivarium tutorial), when walking through a regular (cyan/magenta) portal, it no longer glitches on the other side
In Shine on Through (Upper Narrows), grabbing the cyan light captor is no longer problematic
The green freeze effect on round doors now has a hole when the door is open, to be consistant with other open doors
I thought I had solved the floating light paths in Isolation Cube (Vivarium #1) but the issue remained when I tested on Steam, so another update will come soon enough for that and other elements as well.
Thanks a lot for all of your support!
Patch 1.03
Hey guys,
Here's a third patch (a small shadow update happened on Sunday), thanks again to everyone posting these issues, I'm covering as many as I can:
In That Infernal Tower, Rotated some light paths connected to a button
Raising gates now have a wider grab blockers to prevent grabbing through
Transition between Upper Narrows and Vivarium now works properly, previously it would sometimes not load the Vivarium correctly
The glass windows at the start of the Vivarium now show underwater foliage
An additional option was added to video, to remove portal rendering, which will improve performance.
More updates to come, thanks a lot!
Patch 1.01 is live
Hey guys,
First, a huge thanks to everyone's who's bought the game, you guys are amazing. I've been keeping track of the issues you guys found and will be patching them gradually as time goes on. For now, here's the first patch notes:
"Shine on through", removed a carpet which showed in the narrows
"Observation center", removed a shelf improperly set on the ground
Distance on the emancipation field LOD
In "Getting over the hump", added a collider to prevent the player from mantling above the ceiling
Updated round doors to help prevent carrying objects to the other side
Updated the sound because higher volume was causing audio deterioration
Saves from the demo no longer appear in the full game (including "Continue game")
Names of saved rooms now properly display on Save and Load, before it would display the prototype names
Loading a game while holding a carry teleporter will no longer have an extended laser beam with sparks
I hope you guys are enjoying the game, remember that there's 6 endings to find. Who'll be the first to get all 6? (that's not me...)
Aethernaut AMA - Open world first person puzzle by a single developer
Hey everyone, and welcome to my upcoming fifth game. Developed entirely by one man, I'm proud to showcase AETHERNAUT, an open world first person puzzle game, and encourage you to drop in and all all the questions you'd like.
Explore an abandoned laboratory and complete the experiments found within to save a world on the brink of peril... if so you choose. By changing the properties of light, you will trigger sensors, cast shadows, freeze objects in time, even create portals, travel through time and cross dimensions.
But as you move forward, you will need to answer difficult philosophical questions which will guide the story along. Your answers will also be compared to those of other players online.
Aethernaut trailer World Premiere
To celebrate the upcoming launch of AETHERNAUT, I am proud to unveil the new trailer for Aethernaut, the award winning first person puzzle game from the mind of solo developer Kevin Giguere. Join the stream on February 22nd at 19:00 EST and ask questions directly as we explore some new aspects of the game live on Steam.
AETHERNAUT is a solo development first person puzzle sensation, where you will explore an abandoned laboratory and complete the experiments found within to save a world on the brink of peril... if so you choose. By changing the properties of light, you will trigger sensors, cast shadows, freeze objects in time, even create portals, travel through time and cross dimensions.
Will you help the enigmatic Dr. Cornell, or will you find a different path? It's all up to you, Aethernaut.
