After I Met That Catgirl, My Questlist Got Too Long!

NG+ is here!

Greetings, everyone! We hope you've been enjoying Questlist!
Today's patch might be a small download, but it introduces a highly requested feature and a bunch of fixes. Read along for the full changelog!

Many players have requested New Game + and it's finally here. Here's how it works:

  • NG+ will unlock after completing the game once. If you already saw the ending credits at least once, you're in luck: NG+ is immediately available for you;
  • Starting a new game from the main menu will offer you a choice: you can either start a fresh new savefile or a NG+ savefile;
  • You'll be asked to answer a couple of questions to determine the outcome of specific quests;
  • All the quests of days 1 to 11 will be marked as complete (except the long-term ones), and the rewards will be in your bag;
  • The party will start at lvl. 20 with a selection of decent equipment, and enough gold to purchase upgrades;
  • Most of Vera's skills will be close or very close to their first upgrade;
  • After a super brief story recap, you'll be able to see the date scenes of the route of your choice, then jump straight into the confession scene on day 11;

What was that about trading cards?


We are very excited to announce that Community Items will soon be available for Questlist!
That means trading cards, badges, emoticons, profiles and... yes, we also went the extra mile and went for Point Shop Items! Two exclusive animated stickers will be released when they're ready. Which is soonTM. Here's a little preview:

Bug fixes and balance changes


Thank you all for reporting any issues and giving us feedback!

Balance changes



  • We upped the escape rate to 100%. This should help against the enemies in the Rosedell Caves. Their stats are untouched, but now you'll be able to run away instead of seeing the game over screen if you get unlucky;
  • We slightly reworked Fear: characters cannot get chain-feared anymore, and they'll be able to perform actions in combat more often;
  • The final boss is now a bit slower (giving you more chance to go first), will use Banish less often, and will inflict Freeze less often;

New content



  • Added voice acting to two boss battles in the Emerald Maze;
  • Added voice acting to the boss of the 'Not my kind of spelunking' quest;
  • Added a ! balloon to Mavis on day 12;
  • Made unselected choices semi-opaque. This makes the selected choice pop up more;

Bug fixes



  • Some typos & text running out of the textbox have been corrected;
  • Passability in a lot of caves has been adjusted;
  • Fixed a crash caused by a misnamed asset on day 13;
  • Fixed shenanigans caused by the crystals in the third stretch of the Emerald Maze;
  • Fixed a possible crash in the gallery;
  • Fixed a softlock caused by the Jester boss in Reniel's route;

Merging of the live and BETA branch


We decided to downgrade the framework used for everyone.
"Wait, shouldn't you upgrade it?" I hear you say.
Well... no. The live version uses a recent version that offers a slightly better performance, but also occasionally causes freezes, and we don't want none of that.
Downgrading the framework also allows Windows 7 users to run the game, which is now officially supported. Achievement popups work as normal as well now~

Hotfix 1 is live!

Greetings! We hope you've been enjoying Questlist.
We just released a hotfix to the live & BETA build of the game. Here's what changed:

Live branch


Balance changes



  • Health potions now restore 50 more HP, and should feel more effective in the early game.

Bug fixes



  • The option to disable mouse input is now available from the main menu, and is OFF by default. This does not affect current savefiles;
  • Fixed a softlock caused by the rafts in the sewers;
  • Fixed Reniel automatically switching to Avenger stance against a normal difficulty imp;
  • Fixed a softlock caused by a boulder in the third stretch of the Emerald Maze;
  • Fixed an issue that allowed you to complete the 'Rumors of assembly' quest before unlocking it;
  • Clarified what players need to do to complete the 'Not my kind of spelunking' quest;
  • You can now access the VIP area of the Stout if you have the pass, regardless of story progression. You'll still need to talk with the clerk at the Guild Affairs Office to progress;
  • Removed a dev-only shortcut to skip the cave underneath the spa;
  • Fixed a softlock caused by Dana vibing outside of her house on Celia's day 19;
  • Fixed CG 18 unlocking in Celia's route but not Lyra's;
  • Fixed CG 11 not unlocking properly;

More changes


We removed the forced conversion to .webp of our images. This will hopefully improve performance, but it makes for a big download.
We also fixed a bunch of typos. Seeing those float around always makes us sad.

Troubleshooting


A small amount of users have reported freezing. If you're one of them, you can do the following:

  • Update your drivers
  • Disable V-Sync
  • You can try switching to the BETA branch

What is the BETA branch?


The BETA branch uses an older version of the framework that is compatible with Windows 7.
If you're experiencing freezes, it might be worth switching to the BETA branch!
It just received an update with all the above fixes, plus a further downgrade of the framework that should fix the disappearing textboxes / battler flickering.

The protagonist

Every guild needs a guildmaster, and the catgirl Téa is more than happy to be the one in charge. She claims to come from another world; she needs to find a way to go back and can't make friends here, or enter a relationship... or so she believes. Will Vera manage to change her mind?


Reniel can't harness magic very well, but that isn't going to stop her! She's ready to charge forward with nothing but a smile. What happens when Vera decides to stand behind her?


Sunny seems to know a lot of things that shouldn't really be public knowledge... but the guild wouldn't be the same without her. Will Vera learn the secrets of Sunny's past?


Lyra is an accomplished adventurer. Rumor has it that she's in a top guild! Her words are cryptic, but her smile softens when she speaks to Vera... will our charm witch crack the mystery of her heart?


Celia's motto is to live to have fun, but there's more to her than meets the eye... she's more than happy to comfort Vera after a long day of adventuring~


About the release date


Here's our current development roadmap; we're happy to announce that we're more or less on schedule!


  • Once the script is ready, August will be spent recording the lines to voice, doing audio editing work and implementation.
  • September and October will be busy months: implementation, bug squashing, balancing...
  • We will announce a release date once we are confident we can deliver.

Patch Notes 15/06 + exciting news!

Hey there, adventurers!
Today we updated the demo of Catgirl's Questlist with a big patch. Thank you all for the amazing support and enthusiasm regarding the demo!


  • We reworked all the skills behind the scenes. They look and feel the same, but the rework should prevent a rare, nasty crash to occur;
  • Reworked Reniel's Battering Ram and updated the skill description;
  • Vera and Sunny now correctly change idle stance when they're near death;
  • When Sunny joins the party, she comes with more Healing herbs;
  • Fighting the Soldiers in Hard mode will have you fight the correct enemies. Previously, the Normal Soldiers would fight you on Hard mode;
  • Made the fight with the Roc of prey in the Emerald Maze more challenging, and reworked one of its abilities;
  • Fixed the passability in the Emerald Maze;
  • Slightly increased the Sleep chance of the Shrooms in the Emerald Maze;
  • When one of Vera's skills improve, she now says the correct thing;
  • Increased the spacing between the buttons in the title screen;

Patch Notes 06/06

Greetings!

We pushed another patch today that should fix a rare crash and make some gameplay elements clearer. Thank you all for reporting the issues!


  • Fixed a crash caused by Battering Ram, one of Reniel's skills in Bastion stance
  • Fixed damage numbers not displaying properly when an enemy goes first
  • Made the Quizmaster minigame more forgiving; the fisherman now gives you 10 seconds per trivia. You can find hints about the capital in the library and on the signs
  • Changed the titles of the Torn between worlds and A safe haven quests to reflect their long term nature. Torn between worlds displays the actual duration, 2 days, while A safe haven is marked as long term

Hey there!
We pushed a new patch today that should fix a bug and some small issues reported by some users. Thank you all for reporting them to us!


  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to see the Rosedell cutscenes before Day 4
  • Adjusted the mirroring of several sprites in several cutscenes. Now the characters properly look at each other when talking.
  • Fixed some flavor text in the Crossroads
