ROMERO’S AFTERMATH END OF SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
We began Aftermath as a passion project 2 years ago that aimed to expand the Infestation/WarZ zombie survival universe and give players not only a harsh open world survival experience, but also let players build their own bases, claim land and store items. We ultimately chose to make the game free-to-play from the beginning in order to allow any curious player to try it without having to plunk down hard earned cash given how questionable early access titles can sometimes be. This free to play model worked for quite some time due to word of mouth, almost 2 years in fact, however, with the population dwindling we fear that we cannot keep servers online for much longer.
Not long ago we made the decision to restrict new user registrations as well as halt the sale of in game currency to avoid potential disappointment from new players as the game had not been updated in the last 4 months. Unfortunately the economics of the game are not able to afford us the luxury of continued development and support for Aftermath. With sadness we’ve made the difficult decision to close Aftermath. It wasn’t an easy decision for us, as we’ve been quite emotionally invested in Aftermath, but sometimes these kind of decisions have to made in order to move forward as a company.
We as a team would like to thank you for all of the support you have given us over the past 2 years and the fun experiences we were all able to share - be it fighting over supply drops, herding zombies for liberation events, collecting resources, crafting, building forts and more.
Aftermath will remain online until December 24th, 2016 at which point all game servers, as well as the official Aftermath website and forums will be taken offline. You can still play Aftermath up til this date and we encourage you to spend any remaining GC and GD currency you have in game. You can no longer purchase GC, only spend remaining GC. There will not be any refund of any GC currency you have left unspent upon servers shutdown nor will any in game currency be eligible for transfer to another title.

Hotfix Notes 3/15/2016

-Fixed stuttering audio glitch that sounded like shooting twice even though it was only shooting once (players then accused other players of macroing, this was not the case, it was a bug!)
-Fixed glitch related to Right Mouse Button and third person shooting (this was also a glitch, not a macro!)
-Black Leather Pants have been fixed to properly appear for players in the cosmetic menu if this item has been unlocked.
-Fixed issue that could cause a client desync while looting a player backpack.
-Abusive 1 second food cool downs have been adjusted.
-Knitted Sweater & Brazil cosmetics have been fixed to properly appear inside of mystery crates.
Patch Notes 3/2/2016
We are having a patch today (Wednesday 3/2/16) at roughly 3 PM PST.
-Pinetop map servers have replaced the majority of the Arizona servers.
-There are still a few Arizona servers however this map has been retired to Legendary only. There is no more Arizona PVP building servers.
-There is NO base building on Pinetop servers.
-Barricade duration has been changed from 3 days to 3 hours.
-Reminder that legendary account is half price right now! (1550 GC)!

Upcoming Pinetop Full Release Patch 2/29/16
We are having a patch on Monday 2/29/16 at roughly 3 PM PST.
In order to prepare for this patch, we request that you please remove ALL base building objects from ALL Arizona map servers (both PVE and PVP) or they will be LOST as they will be removed during the map change as Pinetop replaces Arizona.
-Pinetop is now officially released and is replacing the Arizona map for all servers.
-Base Building is now only available on Arizona Map PVE servers, there will be no more Arizona PVP map.
-We are looking into private server rentals where players can rent their own server and select which map they would like to run. We will give you more info about this soon as soon as we know more about server rentals and how they will work.
-There is no base building on ANY Pinetop map regardless of PVE or PVP server type.

Pinetop Release!
-Pinetop map is now released to LEGENDARY users! The map is still in a testing state and if you feel like hopping on and trying it out then you must have a Legendary Account! Legendary account upgrades are permanent!
-There is NO BASE BUILDING on the Pinetop map
-There are NO Pinetop PVE servers for the time being
-Legendary Arizona map servers have been replaced with Pinetop Map Servers
-Pinetop may have some ambient noise quirks so please be patient if you find some bugged audio that is too noisy etc and please report it in the bug section!
-If you are having FPS issues please try lowering or disabling shadows.
New Friends System!
-A new Friends System has been introduced to the game. Open and close the friends menu by pressing O. Simply add a person to your friends list and chat with them any time anywhere in the game or join their server and appear nearby them for easy play with your friends! To spawn near your friend simply right click and select "request spawn" and once your friend approves you joining on them you will be loaded into the server near them. :)
Crafting Changes
-2 new types of craftable 5.56 ammo have been introduced and the recipes to make these spawn in the world.
-1 new type of craftable 9mm ammo has been introduced and the recipe to make this spawns in the world.
-MX-TAC has 2 new upgrade recipes that can take a weaker version of the gun and upgrade it!
-MX-LBZ has 2 new upgrade recipes that can take a weaker version of the gun and upgrade it!
-SCAR-X10 has 2 new upgrade recipes that can take a weaker version of the gun and upgrade it!
General Gameplay Changes
-Stamina regeneration rate while crouching is now 500%, up from 200%.
-Zombies now move 15% faster & hit 50% harder.
-Weapons now display on the player back when they are not being used.
-Liberations no longer show any progress until a minimum of 10% zombies in the area have been killed. This is to make it easier for a solo player that is just looting without constantly moving the % killed from 0% to 1% thus giving away the fact they are in the city.
-The screen will now flash when shot/attacked with an inventory/map/crafting menu open.
-New command called "/clearclaims" which when typed on a specific server will DELETE all claims you had on that server. This has been implemented to help users who have a bugged claim stuck under the world or other game breaking issue. Only use this command if you want to delete all claims on the server you are on. This CANNOT be reversed.
-A new more helpful message is displayed when attempting to buy Cosmetic Keys including their price when you don't have enough funds.
-Zombie Attack animation sync now lined up properly with damage timing.

Liberations
-7 New Stashboxes have been introduced in the world and now mainly drop from liberations (they also randomly spawn in the world). Harder liberations have better drop rates on better stashboxes however even a simple liberation can still get something rare! Stashboxes do not drop on death and can be re-opened to continue a PVP fight after death!
New Stashboxes:
Bronze - Simple Assault Rifle + Ammo
Silver - Better Assault Rifle + Ammo
Gold - Even better Assault Rifle + Ammo + Armor
Diamond - Best Assault Rifle + Ammo + Armor + Medical
Pistol - Pistol + Ammo
Shotgun - High end Shotgun + Ammo + Barricades
Survival - Backpack + Armor + Medical + Barricades
Ammo
-Homebrew Ammo now deals the same amount of damage as Factory ammo.
-Homebrew ammo is less effective over distance than Factory Ammo IE you can shoot targets further away using Factory Ammo vs Homebrew. This makes crafted ammo quite effective now.
