Improvements and Additions

Over the past week various updates for A.I. Invasion solved many common issues and improved the game overall! We added language support for French, Italian and Spanish and the often requested Steam Trading Cards made it into the game!

Most important changes:


  • A.I. Invasion does now support French, Italian and Spanish language. The language can be set from the Steam client - within the games preferences.

  • Many missions were optimized to reduce stuttering and FPS drops. This is an ongoing process – expect more optimizations in close future!

  • 1 new primary weapon and 2 new special items were added to the game. They are unlocked by beating certain missions. If you already completed the corresponding mission, the new equipment will be available right away.

  • Steam Trading Cards are now rewarded for playing the game.

Take on the role of a soldier fighting against the merciless A.I. machines controlling the universe. Traveling the Rimae planetary system you command a team that has to overcome various missions to defeat those pesky metal roaches. Utilize a wide range of weapons and even special items that aid you in battle! Can you reclaim the system from the A.I.?

The A.I. Invasion Team

The A.I. Invasion is growing!

A major update for A.I. Invasion was just released.


Thie update brings a new mission to the table and contains a new location to discover: The A.I. space station! Additionally, the game now fully supports gamepad control!


In the mission players will leave solid ground behind and infiltrate an A.I. space station orbiting through the planetary system.


This update also introduces various adjustments and features to the control system. First off, every aspect of the game con now be controlled with the gamepad. Furthermore, new radial menus can be opened in missions by holding a key or button. There is a radial menu for special unit selection and one for unit commands.
  • Keyboard default: Q / RMB
  • Gamepad default: RT / LT

Please note that due to these changes, mouse sensitivity might have changed. We added the option to adjust mouse sensitivity to the keyboard options window.

The A.I. Invasion universe is expanding!


A major update for A.I. Invasion was just released.
In 2 brand new missions the fight against the A.I. advances to the next level!



For the first time players will visit Duvoo, an A.I. infested desert planet, to retrieve cargo from a shot down A.I. flag ship. With an even bigger team players will then revisit the ice planet Alkonost to fend of the biggest A.I. army to date while retrieving valuable intelligence from the depths of the "frost fortress".


Additionally the journey through the planetary system gets even more dangerous as 4 new A.I. enemy types are in production. The deadly "Suicide Bomber" for example is looking to blast his enemies and himself into orbit!


To fend off the growing hordes of A.I. robots, a new special item made its way into the arsenal of mankind. The Shield Generator spans an area and blocks off all incoming projectiles while soldiers from inside can still shoot incoming foes.


Many more minor changes and bug fixes are contained within the update.

  • the Mission "Cargo Hunt" was added to the game. The team is fighting its way through a canyon on the new "Desert Planet" to retrieve cargo from a broken A.I. flag ship
  • the Mission "Snowball FX" was added to the game. This mission plays on Alkonost and requires the mission "Cold Base" to be completed
  • the special item "Shield Generator" was added to the game. The globe protects an area from incoming projectiles. It can be unlocked by completing the mission "Cargo Hunt"
  • 4 new enemy types were added to various missions: Elite Levitant, Boss Levitant, Quick Flyer, Bomber


Changes
  • the user interface now shows more info and icons especially on the equipment screens, mission briefing and in missions
  • the weapons "Laser Rifle" and "Submachine Burst" were adjusted to be more even in terms of damage per second
  • radio transmissions from the commander are now centered

Hotfix 25/08

Hey guys,

you reported some bugs and we pushed another hotfix to get them out of the way! It just went live so check out what was changed or jump right into the action!

Changelog
  • the time it takes to change between weapon and special item was halved
  • the loading screen does now display default keyboard bindings
  • the HUD is now scaled based on display resolution
  • the HUD now shows which special unit is selected
  • fixed an issue that led to severe audio distortion while shooting
  • resolved an issue with smaller enemies not attacking the transporter in the mission „Hiking Strike“
  • fixed undesired lighting flashes in the mission „Quarry Rock“

Hotfix 21/08

Hey guys,

a hotfix just went live that adresses more common issues around A.I. Invasion. Most notably:
  • the special item "healing station" does no longer heal enemies
  • the healing station is now properly disassembled when the player picks
    it up again
  • the navigation system was improved. Special units now have much less
    trouble when navigating stairs and bridges
  • dead special units can no longer talk
  • the pause menu does now properly lock the player character
  • the pause menu does now display the mission time in a proper format
  • changing between window mode and full screen in graphic options no
    longer breaks the user interface controls

A.I. Invasion enters Early Access!

A.I. Invasion just started into Early Access! Join the fight against the merciless machines and reclaim the planetary system for mankind! In 6 different missions you visit varied planets and even advanced underground complexes! Turn A.I. robots to scrap on the beautiful forest planet „Ceti VI“ or challenge them on the frosty ice planet „Alkonost“.

Even if you already discovered most of the current Early Access version, the fight is not over yet! Within the next weeks we will introduce new challenges but also features that will aid you on your journey! Stay tuned for:
  • new missions such as the hunt for cargo from a destroyed ship in a desert battlefield
  • new special items such as the energy barrier, that allows you to shield off your team against enemy fire

Hotfix


We already received plenty of feedback and bug reports from you! As this announcement is posted a hotfix is already in place to adress the most common issues! See a list of changes:
  • improved ai navigation on the „Moon“ environment
  • enemy spawning and objective sequence of the mission „Orbiting“ was adjusted to prevent the player from skipping mission parts
  • the final objective of the mission „Quarry Rock“ does now spawn less enemies
  • the giant fourlegged A.I. Robot in the mission „Quarry Rock“ can now climb the north-western plateau
  • lowered the volume of Laser Shotgun shots
  • sound options do now save
  • keyboard bindings can now be changed after playing a mission
  • leaving a mission now opens the mission selection instead of the start menu
