Hi Truckers,
When you’re making a game everything needs to be as perfect as possible. Not only in how the game plays, its graphics and sound, but also the game’s name. Sometimes you have time to think - is the game’s name right for what you’re making?
After some long drives and many hours musing on this, we decided to go for a rename. So long, Alaskan Truck Simulator - we’re very proud to introduce you all to…
Alaskan Road Truckers!
To celebrate the name change we in conjunction with our friends at IGN have put together an exclusive work-in-progress look at Alaskan Road Truckers showing an Alaskan summer along with some of the jobs you’ll do as a trucker:

Why have you changed the name?
In Alaskan Road Truckers you aren’t just a truck, you play as a trucker with a focus on life both inside and outside of your vehicle. After all, you’ll be getting in and out of your truck, hitching uploads, fueling up your truck, and maintaining the health of your driver in the Alaskan outdoors.
We want to make sure you know when you look at our game that it’s something different and unique, so we thought - what are you? You’re a trucker, you go on roads…in Alaska.
And so Alaskan Road Truckers was born!
As the game has developed, we feel this brand new name better aligned with our ambitions for the game.
What does this mean for the game?
It means we’ll be changing the logo for the game and the name wherever we have it but that’s it - we’re still making sure we create the definitive Alaskan trucking experience.
We’re working on creating expansive vistas of Alaska filled with life, variety, and treacherous conditions. We’re working to create an in-depth game which gives you an authentic trucker experience alongside a realistic driving model and a full career mode. All the same things we were working on before, just now the name fits better.

Creating Authenticity of The Last Frontier - Devlog no. 3
Hi, Truckers, We are getting back on the road with new information regarding ATS! Today, we want to take the time and talk about bringing authenticity to the Alaskan World.
As you may know, our team has been hard at work creating a game that truly captures the essence of Alaska. We want players to feel like they are actually driving through the rugged terrain and experiencing this incredible state's unique challenges and beauty. To bring this level of authenticity to the game, our designers have been extensively researching and studying the Alaskan world. We've consulted with experts in the field, studied maps, weather, and topography to bring you the best possible experience.
WEATHER CONDITIONS
One of the biggest challenges we faced was accurately representing the ever-changing weather conditions in Alaska. We wanted players to feel the real-life impact of snow, ice, wind, and rain as they navigate through the various terrains. To achieve this, we studied weather patterns in Alaska to ensure that the in-game weather accurately reflects what players would experience in real life:
POINTS OF INTEREST AND LANDMARKS
We've also put a lot of effort into recreating Alaska's various landscapes and landmarks. From iconic buildings such as the Igloo Hotel, an abandoned hotel located about a 4-hour drive north of Anchorage, to the towering peaks of the Alaska Range, we've worked to create a realistic and immersive environment for players to explore.

More animations & more features! - Alaskan Truck Simulator Devlog no. 2
Hi, Truckers, Thank you so much for the reception of the last devlog. All the positive comments and thumbs-ups are a brilliant motivation for us - thank you so much for everything you have to say and all the support!
In our second entry in the series, we want to discuss new features, new animations, and reworked locations in the game. So without delay, let's hit the road!
NEW STARTING LOCATION
A few of you probably remember that in the last demo version, the game started in your HQ, where your trucking career began with cooking a meal, gathering necessary equipment, and going to your truck to complete your first assignment.
Your starting location will now be the lovely riverside settlement where you will get your first job. Take a look at how different it is 👆
With the new location, we’ve also completely changed the tutorial to fit your play style and show all the necessary information while you are playing. In addition, if you need a refresher, all tutorial messages will be available from the pause menu. We redesigned it and added an encyclopedia tab containing all the information necessary to enjoy your game fully.
REWORKED TERRAIN AND SURROUNDINGS
As stated in our first devlog we’ve partnered with Tobiasz Piątkowski, a comic book author and art director from Poland, who is helping us add more color and authenticity to the world. You can already see the outcome of this partnership in the game: we’ve managed to change the textures of trees, bushes, and grass, as well as add more color to them. Alaska feels so much more immersive, but don’t just believe us. Check it out for yourself 👇
NEW ANIMATIONS & NEW MAINTENANCE FEATURES
Alaskan Truck Simulator isn't just about sitting around in your truck and completing the next job; it's about survival and being prepared for the unexpected. That's why we wanted to develop the game's animations to help you feel like a real Alaskan trucker. Since our last entry, we have a few more animations to share with you: fixing the fuse box, changing the wipers, and removing road blockades with some cool tools... GROOVY! 😉
We’ve also added a fuse box under the hood that will require looking after from time to time. So drive carefully and avoid spending too much money on spare parts.
Our dev team is also working on adding more random events on the road. Stay tuned to hear more on that in the future!
MAP OPTIMIZATION AND PERFORMANCE
Our team is working hard on expanding the current map. The size of the map and the level of detail we’re working with means significant challenges can arise related to performance. As a result, we’re changing textures on the streets, road signs, and settlements open for exploration in Alaskan Truck Simulator. This will help the world to feel much more immersive with enhanced performance across the board.
