First of all, thank you all again for playing and sharing your feedback, both in the survey, on our Discord, or in the comments. We're listening, and the result of this is our DEMO HOFTIX that addresses some of the issues that you reported.
Here's what this update brought:
List of fixed bugs: - The steering wheel should no longer produce a fatal error at the start of a game. Reset your steering wheel settings and set them again. - Fixed a bug with the invisible wall on the bridge if the player went to sleep earlier. - Added cargo damage and visible damage messages. - The heater will now light up when it is on. - A few navigation-related fixes. - Fixed the bug that blocked the taking of assignments. - Fixed the bug which caused the handbrake sound to not play when interacting with the handbrake button. - Introduced food-related balance.
Known issues we are working on: - Small collision triggering the launch of a truck into space in UBuild Paxson - Sometimes snowflakes fall into the cabin - Blurred dashboard when highlighted
If you encounter a bug, please report it on the appropriate channel on our Discord server.
And if you want to share your general opinion – the survey is the best place to go.
Safe roads!
Did you enjoy the demo? Let us know what you think!
We saw that a lot of you have been playing the demo this weekend – thank you from the bottom of our hearts! It means so much to us to see you play and enjoy the game, even despite some early bugs (and we’re working on hotfixes as we speak). Today is also round 2: the demo will be featured on Next Fest, so let’s all play together!
We’ve worked very hard to get to this point, and we must say it looks very good so far! We’ve got a lot of responses to our survey and most of you gave Alaskan a very high overall score. Among the things you like most about the demo are the dynamic gameplay, weather and scenery, freedom to explore the map, eating and sleeping, truck maintenance, and so on. You’ve let us know about some bugs popping up so we can work on fixes for the full game.
A majority of you also said you’d recommend the game to your friends – thank you! ❤
If you’ve played the demo but haven’t filled in the survey yet, we highly encourage you to do so. We read all the answers and they’re all extremely helpful.
Once again, thank you for playing the demo. See ya soon!
The demo is out, PLAY NOW! Also: Survey + Stream + Surprise
Truckers!
The day has come, we can finally share a playable demo with you! It’s an extremely important moment for us, because this is the first time our work is shown publicly. That’s why we’d like to ask you to treat it as a playtest. Your feedback will help us improve the full version.
Another fun thing that we’ve prepared is a stream with Tomek, the head of production on Alaskan Truck Simulator. Tomek will drive you through the demo, talking about our creative decisions, and about how the demo compared to the full game. It’s worth watching!
Also, since we were just featured on Future Games Show, we have an extended gameplay trailer:
Soon we'll have something to announce with TruckStopRadio, but if you play the demo, you'll probably find out what it's about. ;)
Finally, our friends behind Gas Station Simulator prepared a couple of gift for the stream viewers. Watch closely, and act quickly. First come, first served!
Oh, and if you like what you see, please add our game to your wishlist. It helps indie devs greatly.
See you in Alaska!
Let's warm-up for the demo with the Player's Guide!
Hello there!
The demo is almost here (expect it around the time Future Games Show gets going), so as a quick warm-up, take a look at our Demo Player’s Guide! It’s a short guidebook where you can see the overview of the demo mechanics and some interesting information about this version in general.
What places can you visit in the demo? Take a look!
In the demo, you’ll be able to explore a big chunk of a map, which in its entirety will be available in the full game. So, which Alaskan landmark can you visit in the demo? Take a look at the postcards from Alaska!
Which one will you visit first?
We made ASMR! Wanna know what wild Alaska sounds like?
Are you one of these people who like to listen to ASMR for fun or switch on some ambient music while working?
We do! And this wild idea occurred to us when we were testing the game for the N-th time: when you get out of your truck and just go for a walk, it’s so peaceful there, and the forest sounds are very calming. So, why not make a video with the wild Alaskan ambience?
And we did just that. Enjoy!
Get wallpapers showing demo locations!
Here’s a little something we’d like to give you, Truckers!
As you know, our demo is coming to Steam on June 11. We’ll soon start showing you more of its features, but let’s start with the obvious. The visuals!
Check out these wallpapers. The shots are taken directly from the demo build. Soon you’ll be able to visit these places yourself! All of them are inspired by real-life Alaskan locations, like Hurricane Gulf Bridge.
See how they fit your screen and see you on Alaskan roads on June 11. We’ll appreciate adding our game to your wishlist!
Iwona talks about ice roads and oil fields
We continue the journey with Iwona Blecharczyk!
Iwona is a YouTuber, Instagramer, book author and, most importantly, a truck driver. She has driven huge rigs through most of Europe, Canada and the US, including driving a specialised truck along the ice roads and oil fields.
In this episode, she will talk about the challenges of driving through ice roads and oil fields, and transporting oversized cargo. And she mentions that not without reason! *wink wink wait for the game wink wink*
Take a look at the second episode:
Stay tuned, Truckers!
It’s the International Professional Driver Appreciation Week!
Hey there!
This week we celebrate all the wonderful Truckers out there on the roads! 9 - 15 May 2022 is the International Professional Driver Appreciation week so join us in wishing them all the best.
Truckers, you are our inspiration. Without your hard work, your skill and commitment we’d lack a lot of things we take for granted: fuel, food items from around the world, everyday products made in different countries, and so on. Thank you!
May your roads always be safe and the weather favourable!
What we’re doing now, and what our friends are up to
Hello there!
We’re working on polishing the demo so you can try Alaskan yourselves! We’re now testing the cars AI and traffic. We know you’ve asked about other vehicles on the road before, and we do have them! Soon you’ll see more about it.
Actually, at this stage, we might have gone a little overboard because now we have New York rush hours in our Alaska. But no worries, it’s intentional for testing purposes. It’s also fun and we’ll be happy to share a video. The good news is that the AI is working really well even when we crank up the traffic to 11!
And we have another piece of news. Our friends over at Movie Games are preparing for the release of the official game adaptation for the legendary Discovery show, MythBusters. Did you watch Adam and Jamie busting myths on Discovery Science? Some of the experiments were totally crazy, like the one when they tried to make a rocket car or did the Bond car flip in the “James Bond Special”.
And while you’re waiting, we recommend you play the FREE prologue, MythBusters: The First Experiment, which Movie Games has just made available to everyone!
