today we're excited to announce that our latest patch for Alfred Hitchcock â Vertigo is out!
Art & VFX
Addition of visual effects in certain parts of the game where they weren't executed properly
Changes in the lighting in certain cinematics to balance the overall quality and merge the results with conversations
Overall performance improvements : Changes on the resolution of far objects to make the scenes less demanding.
Animation
Rework of some lip-sync animations
Fixing of lip-sync issues
Fixing of multiple clipping issues all around the game
Improvements in the vehicules animations
Polish in characters animations
Improvements in the conversations animations
Adjustments in the cameras during conversations

Microids is pleased to reveal today Alfred Hitchcock â Vertigoâs second developerâs diary as we get closer to the release. Pendulo Studios (Runaway, Yesterday Origins, Blacksad: Under the SkinâŚ) new game is expected for December 16, 2021, on PC.
This dev diary goes into details about the creative process of the musical theme and the original soundtrack of the narrative game Alfred Hitchcock â Vertigo, freely inspired by Hitchcockâs masterpiece.

Juan Miguel Martin, composer who has worked on previous Pendulo Studios productions such as Runaway (2003) The Next Big Thing (2011), Yesterday (2012), Yesterday Origins (2016) and more recently Blacksad: Under the Skin in 2019, will sign his sixth musical work, with the precious help of twelve talented musicians with whom he has surrounded himself.
Through this new narrative experience, the melodies players will discover will be familiar and an attentive ear will recognize the work of Bernard Herrmann, from whom the game team drew inspiration. A composer who collaborated with Alfred Hitchcock on eight of his most famous films, including "Vertigo" (1956), "North by Northwest" (1957), "Psycho" (1960) and "The Birds" (1963), as well as other films by renowned directors such as Orson Welles' Citizen Kane (1941) and Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver (1976).
Synopsis :
Ed Miller, a writer, came out unscathed from his car crash down into Brody Canyon, California. Even though no one was found inside the car wreckage, Ed insists that he was traveling with his wife and daughter. Traumatized by the event, he begins to suffer from severe vertigo. As he starts therapy, he will try to uncover what really happened on that tragic day.
Alfred Hitchcock â Vertigo is being developed by Pendulo Studios (Runaway, Yesterday Origins, Blacksad: Under the SkinâŚ) and will launch December 16th, 2021, on PC. The game will come out in 2022 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles and Nintendo Switch.
Alfred Hitchcock â Vertigo is an invitation to discover more about this dizzy spell and its origins. The game is a true introspective experience that will challenge the playersâ own sense of sanity.
