Alganon

Tribute Market Steam Login Support

We have now added support for using your Steam account to login to the Tribute Market. So you no longer need a legacy Alganon account (username/password) for that. You can use either one.

To use your Steam account, just click on the Green "Sign in through Steam" button.

Alganon is live!

Yes - FINALLY!!
F2P LIMITATIONS
Alganon is 100% F2P, but with some minor limitations as follows:

  • Can only create up to 4 characters
  • 20 Ability Points cap (which coincides with gaining them on levels 11-30)
  • Max of 10 active quests at one time
  • Level Cap of 30
  • Gold cap of 50g
  • Cannot create guilds

Each of these limitations can be unlocked in the Tribute Market (in-game cash shop) by purchasing the appropriate service. This allows us to cater to each player without making you purchase a feature you may not want. For example, if you want to be able to play to level 50 but don't care for more character slots you can just purchase the Level Cap Boosts and ignore the others.

We also have a Super Pack Bundle (look in the Extras tab of the Tribute Market) which contains all of the extra services for a sizable discount. This is often the recommended choice for those who love the game and spend a great deal of time in it.

The Rise of the Ourobani Expansion has no bearing on these F2P limitations at all. Purchasing the DLC will unlock the new content, but will not change the above limitations.
ALGANON GAME CLIENT
As a result of this release, we have now retired the standalone Alganon client download as it is no longer supported. All future updates will be handled exclusively through the Steam version.

Through Steam, you are now able to login to Alganon using either your existing Alganon or Steam account.
LOGIN RULES
• If you have the downloader client installed you can continue using that one to connect and play. Going forward, if you need to re-download the client you will need to download it from Steam.
  • If you have an existing Alganon account, continue using that to log in by typing in your username and password.
  • If you do NOT have an existing Alganon account, use your Steam account to connect to the game.
  • The manual Alganon login (username/password) and Steam login are completely different accounts. If you have a pre-existing Alganon account and you login with your Steam account, you will NOT have access to your Alganon account, characters etc because the Alganon and Steam account details are different. We have no way to transfer an existing Alganon account to a Steam account.
RISE OF THE OUROBANI DLC PURCHASE
If you had an Alganon account before today's Steam launch, and you buy the DLC (now available only on Steam), it will not show up in your account when you login to the game.

The best way to tell if the DLC is active, is if the logo shows the Ourobani instead of the standard Alganon logo. Also, if you can create an Ourobani character.

The issue is that if you login with your Alganon account, and buy the DLC (now available only on Steam), it won't show up because there is no connection between the Steam account and the Alganon account (setup before the Steam launch).

This is precisely what the announcement about Steam account vs Alganon account is about. Which is why, since the Steam launch, you will no longer be able to create a standard Alganon account.

For those who have an Alganon account (e.g. those who played the game ahead of the Steam launch) and who bought the DLC on Steam, please use the game's ticket system (the large question mark in the UI) to provide your Alganon (not your Steam) username so that one of the mods can manually set the DLC entitlement flag in your account.

You do NOT need to have two accounts, unless you no longer care about your old Alganon account and want to use a Steam account.
TRIBUTE MARKET
As we have now removed support for Zeevex (going out of business), the in-game cash shop (aka Tribute Market) now has support for Xsolla, which offers various payment methods.

NOTE: you will no longer be able to purchase the expansion pack via the in-game cash shop. You can only purchase it through Steam.
ITEM SALE!
To commemorate/celebrate the occasion, we're having our biggest sale so far in the Tribute Market.

There are mounts, vanity items, boosts, and more included in the sale at 50% off.

In addition, you will be able to purchase the Rise of the Ourobani expansion pack at 50% off during this sale period.

Also, our two highest Tribute packages (2000 and 5000 Tribute) are also now on sale for 50% off.

All sales will continue from today, May 19, 2015 until next Tuesday, May 26, 2015.
A FINAL WORD
We have been dealing with numerous "it's a WoW clone!" posts since the game went live on Steam several weeks ago.

Folks, we've been hearing this for several years now. But instead of having pointless debates, someone put together a handy article on that very topic. If you haven't yet played the game, then you should probably read it. Thanks!

Status Update

Just a quick update to let you all know that today we built the final version that will be going live on Steam next Tuesday, May 19th.
PATCH UPDATE
The 3.0.1.2674 patch for the public version which fixes some last minute bugs, as well as implements Xsolla payment interface, is now live.

This patch brings both the public download, and the Steam versions to the same build level.
ALGANON GAME CLIENT
Once the Steam build goes live on Tuesday afternoon, we will retire the standalone Alganon client download.

After that, the game client will only be available via Steam as that will be the only supported version going forward.

Through Steam, you will be able to login to Alganon using either your existing Alganon or Steam account.
LOGIN RULES
• If you have an Alganon account, you should continue using that on Steam
  • If you do NOT have an Alganon account, you should use your Steam account
  • If you have a pre-existing Alganon account and you login with your Steam account, you will NOT have access to your Alganon account, characters etc, because the Alganon and Steam account details are different and we have no way to transfer an existing Alganon account to a Steam account.

Status Update

I have some awesome news, and not-so-awesome news

First, the awesome news.

The fix that was implemented last week to fix a progressive combat lag issue, was super effective. We've been testing it round the clock and as of this writing, everything appears to be back to normal. This was a very serious issue, which is why the May 5th Steam release was delayed.

In addition to the above, we have completely removed our Zeevex payment processor for micro-transactions, and implemented Xsolla.

Aside from it being necessary due to Zeevex going out of business, using Xsolla means that you can use worldwide currency to buy in-game transactions. This is great because we are in discussions with various partners for international deployment of the game in other territories such as EU and Asia, where territory servers will be hosted so that our gamers in those areas, don't have to login to servers here in the US.

...and the bad news

We are going to move the Steam release another week, to Tue, May 19th in order to give additional testing time, as well as fix some annoying bugs listed below.

  • The Warden's Pack Call abilities can sometimes crash the server
  • No NPCs are loaded in the Kujix Starter Area
  • The Ranger's Leg Shot action does not always function correctly
  • Several Magus spells aren't functioning correctly

We're also going to add some indicator in character select screen which shows whether you have the Rise Of The Ourobani expansion pack or not. Currently the only way to know if you have it, is if you can create a Warden or Ourobani character.

Status Update

In case you didn't notice, we decide to move the Steam launch from May, 5th to next week, May 12th, in order to give time to find and address a combat lag issue that some people have reported since the latest patch (the one with Steam integration).

Also, we're almost done with the removal of Zeevex payment system and implementation of Xsolla as the payment processor for in-game transactions.

So all in all, things are looking good for next week; but if anything changes, I will post another update.

Patch 3.0.1.2670

Ahead of the game's launch on Steam, we have released a minor patch that addresses some lingering issues.

  • There have been considerable fixes put in to address many of the reported combat issues. The system has been overhauled and enemies now behave correctly, attacking players when provoked and returning to their spawn location. Tower NPCs will no longer ignore your presence, so PvP players will again find a challenge waiting for them.
  • Flight Masters and NPCs no longer disappear from the game world after provoked by enemies.
  • Incorrect Warden Aspects have been removed from multi class trainers
  • NPCs again correctly return to their pathing after being drawn away and killed.
  • The Arcane Scholar mercenary has a brand new fireball auto attack! Enemies beware!
  • Bleach dye was not always leaving items bleached after exiting the game. This has been corrected.
  • Players of all races will again receive their correct Renown Reward mails when gaining a Renown level.
  • Implemented support for SteamWorks backend services. Yes, Alganon is coming to Steam next month!
  • Tribute Purchase Changes:
We are aware of the impending shutdown of Zeevex as a payment processing service effective August 2015 and we are in the process of implementing an alternate payment system. More news in couple of weeks.
