Just a quick update to address a bug found by one of our intrepid players. Thank you for the notice on this!
Bug fixes and improvements
fixed an issue where entering the holo-sim chamber on Day 5 could "warp" you to the wrong place, unable to move
AWY Spoilercast now available!
This is a fun update we've been looking forward to for a long time — our friends over at PS Nation invited us onto the show to discuss every last detail of Alone With You!
This is an epic, 2+ hour podcast episode where we reveal all the secrets behind the game — references, development details, and even Easter eggs — and trust us, we've been holding back for months just so we could spill the beans on this show.
If you've finished the game, listen to the show, and let us know what you think!
UPDATE - v1.02 brings early content updates!
Today's update brings one major revision and one small fix. We noticed after watching more people playing the game online, via streams, etc. that people wanted to get through the first part of the game — the intro and the first mission to the Comms Relay — a whole lot more quickly. And after getting more feedback, we agreed. And so...
What's New:
Shortened the intro where you meet the AI — text is clearer, snappier and there's less of it
Redesigned the first Comms Relay mission. The mission has three floors instead of five; a few items got shuffled around and now it's much faster to complete, getting you to your first holo-sim chamber encounter more quickly
(Don't worry — if you were playing the game and it saved while in the middle of the Comms Relay mission, you'll be right back at that mission. However, you'll notice things look a little different when you return.)
Bug Fixes and Improvements:
fixed an issue where you might not be able to take screenshots. These now work correctly and the Steam Overlay pop-up shows up now
Happy playing!

UPDATE - v1.01 adds new control options, more
Hi all!
We have an update today to address a few issues and make the game nicer for everyone.
v1.01 (for PC and Mac) patch notes:
should correct an issue where controller/keyboard UI prompts are displayed incorrectly, or sporadically
adds a new Force Input mode that allows you to manually select whether you're using a keyboard, Xinput gamepad or DualShock®4 — just in case anything gets weird
game no longer rumbles controllers if you aren't actively using them (even if they're plugged in)
controls auto-revert to default ("auto") if there are no gamepads detected (even if you've manually forced the input to "gamepad" mode)
a few little tweaks here and there
You can access the new options within the pause menu, as usual.
What's New in Alone With You for Steam?
With only two days to go until launch, excitement for AWY is heating up! But if you know about the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game, you might be wondering: what's new here?
A new way to keep in touch
As you play through each day in the game, we hope you're thinking about your new hologram companions an awful lot, even as you wonder about the state of the planet outside.
To help you feel more connected, we've added a new room to your home base at Colony A — the mess hall. You'll see this area, um, evolve as your time within the game increases. Most importantly, though: it lets you get status reports from the AI on how your escape ship is coming along. And, if you play your cards right, some new insights into the thoughts of your four hologram friends.
Made with love for PC & Mac
When AWY launched on PlayStation platforms, we made sure it felt great and used that hardware as much as we could. And so here, on PC & Mac, we wanted to make sure AWY is comfortable and easy to work with:
supports keyboards and gamepads simultaneously — hot swap or use whatever you have plugged in
Full-screen and windowed modes (the game will remember your window size when you load it up, too) — perfect for easy, one-screen Twitch stream setups
Music and SFX volume sliders — adjust what you need for accessibility or for streams
New spit and polish
We've added a few new little cutscenes, graphical tweaks, and a brand new texture filter to the game that makes it look better than ever before. A dynamic font system keeps the text readable and sharp, even in smaller windows. Little edits here and there make this the sharpest, nicest-looking version of AWY yet.
Soundtrack DLC!
Like to buy your game music within Steam? The complete original soundtrack for Alone With You will be purchasable at launch as DLC, and will also be available in a combo bundle with the main game! Trust us — you won't be able to stop listening to the soundtrack anyway.
And that's it for now! See you on February 9, when Alone With You launches here on Steam!
Meet the four special characters of Alone With You
We're just over a week away from Alone With You's launch here on Steam! And since the game is all about connections to people (hologram or otherwise), I wanted to introduce you to the four people you'll be spending the most time with in the game.
My favourite part of Alone With You is hearing about players' experiences with the four holograms — and, specifically, who their favourite was. There's a bit of a trick to that — but I can't tell you about that just yet. :-)
As the colony's communications expert, she was highly intelligent, but socially withdrawn. Winnie found the collapse of the installation particularly difficult to deal with.
As the director of the terraforming facility, his engineering genius was unparalleled. But his hubris and leadership style left many unanswered questions after disaster struck.
She managed the facility's Agro-Domes, and was a lover of all growing things. She was more at home in her garden than in a manager's office, though, and had difficulty keeping her team focused.
He was the installation's Resource Manager, and a gifted explorer. His ability to problem-solve and think creatively made him excellent at his job, but often put him at odds with his peers.
See you back here on February 9th for the launch! Please make sure to put the game on your wishlist, and spread the word!
Top 5 things you didn't know about Alone With You (but now you do)
Alone With You is now just three weeks away, but we've been working on it for quite a while. We want to share some fun bits you might not have known about the game.
So without further ado...
5) Alone With You is a "love letter to the Sega CD" We've said this before, but AWY was an attempt to make "the Sega CD game we wish existed." That's why it mixes 16-bit style, Genesis-era visuals with a rich, deep soundtrack that would have required the then-amazing new "compact disc" format. In fact, the entire game uses the Sega Genesis hardware colour palette — all 512 colours. (We did cheat from time to time.) Pay attention when you're playing — you might even notice a rather obvious tip of the hat to Sega's disc-spinning console in the game...
4) Alone With You is meant to provoke real, honest feelings The goal of the game was to see if players could feel real things towards very not-real people. There are some tough choices and, we hope, some great characterization and writing that helps with that. In our experience, players tend to admit that they have a favourite hologram [of the people you can visit in the game], which reveals something of their personality...
3) Alone With You is very, very Canadian From the names and little references to the fact that we use a lot of "ou"s in words like "favourite," AWY is Canadian-made, and offers a lot of little nods to its country of origin. Canucks, be on the lookout!
2) Alone With You is more than five times bigger than Home I loved making Home because it was a tight, focused expression if a single idea. With AWY, I wanted to try something more ambitious (and that's why a team made it, and "I" am a "we" for this game). Most players spend about 4–6 hours in a single playthrough, but we've had players spend much more than that to get achievements and see all there is to see. And since you get to choose which missions you embark on during the game, it feels a lot more personal.
1) Alone With You is for everyone Usually in dating sims, the main character is a dude. Then my wife will say, "WTF? I want to play this @#$%ing game!" And you know what? She's totally right. So in Alone With You, your character is you — or whoever you want to be. You enter your name, and that's it — talk to anyone you want, feel anything you feel, without restrictions.
