Altwaldheim 2: Town in Trouble

We are proud to finally announce Altwaldheim 2: Town in Trouble.


It has been almost three years since I released Altwaldheim 1 back in 2020. So what happened in the last few years? It has been quite a journey. As you probably guessed, the big C-word also affected me. I finished my studies and had no idea what to do now in these weird, isolated times. So, I did the only logical thing:
We founded the company Ascendancy Games. Our goal is to create engaging and fun games surrounding the world of Nerus, to which Altwaldheim also belongs. Our games are easy to learn and understand but hard to master.

We also started developing the sequel. Altwaldheim 2 revamps and reworks many aspects of the first game. It also adds new features, like a real-time auto-battle system, in which up to thousands of enemies fight each other until one army remains. Or new custom music, done by the great Jan Pfitzer.

I would like to thank everybody that played the first Altwaldheim and gave valuable feedback. I hope you will enjoy the sequel as well!

Hey there,

it has been more than one year since Altwaldheim has launched. Many things happened during that time. Altwaldheim now belongs to Ascendancy Games, a company founded by me with the goal to add more games to the world of Altwaldheim. The future will be awesome!

Altwaldheim has received a major patch today. This patch includes more events, an easy difficulty, more quality of life to the UI and balance reworks. Some of the changes are listed below:



Difficulty Rework



  • Added a new easy difficulty. In Easy, you will start with significantly more resources
  • Reworked normal difficulty to be fairer. See balance section.
  • Made hard difficulty harder.
  • Hard now has "Catastrophic Events"


Events



  • Added more events. The game now has more than 200 events.
  • The same event cannot repeat for at least 7 weeks.
  • Added catastrophic events to hard difficulty. These events can lead to permanent damage, like permanently receiving less gold per turn.
  • Rebalanced the rewards and outcomes of many events.


Balance



  • More different type of enemy waves were added.
  • Some enemy waves were too hard, while others were too weak. They were reworked accordingly.
  • The lategame enemies were buffed, especially the final wave. Do not underestimate it!
  • Changes to several units, enabling more different strategies.

Version 1.02

While the early games is challenging, the waves after the Goblin King are a bit too easy. Small incremental changes will be added to keep the game engaging and fair. This patch only adds a small change to the Mork-waves.


  • All waves containing Morks have about 10% more troops.
