It's been a while, but Alvora Tactics finally gets the 'grid-free movement' treatment! Like Voidspire Tactics, Alvora had its movement locked to the grid - but now I've brought over the movement system from Horizon's Gate that makes walking much smoother.

New patch, this time with some economy changes alongside the bugfixes and balance changes.

Finally fixed a persistent quickslot bug! And a few other small fixes.

Time for a big patch! This one has so many changes I had to split it up into sections. The biggest changes are the new pathing indicator (never get surprised by walking into fire again!) and new journal entries with details for each status effect.

BALANCE


  • Berserker's 'Frenzy' MP cost decreased from 1 to 0
  • Breaker's 'Quake' MP cost increased from 2 to 3
  • Guardian's 'Rally' MP cost increased from 0 to 1
  • Blade's 'Flash Cut' damage increased from 60% to 70%
  • Fixed Blade's 'Double-Edge' self-damage using an incorrect formula that inflicted too much self-damage
  • Made Brawler's 'Thousand Fists' passive compatible with punch daggers
  • Breaker's 'Break Arms' duration reduced by 15@
  • Shiftcloak's 'Shift Stab' now does +20% damage
  • 'Chilled' and 'Frozen' status now amplify Ice damage by 1.3x instead of 1.1x

GAMEPLAY



  • Sorcerer's 'Fire Whirl' can now be summoned on top of regular fire
  • 'Burn' status no longer lights ground underneath you on fire
  • Lifebead Necklace fixed to only increase healing received instead of all positive effects
  • Fixed most buffs and cooldowns getting removed at the start of combat
  • Fixed AI using buffs on themselves that they are immune to
  • Fixed unintended path to a previous boss battle showing up rarely in one of the final areas
  • Timed items (ex: Lit Bomb) no longer reset their timer when you leave the zone
  • The gamepad now only requires 1 button press to loot bodies
  • Now you can look at character stats in combat after acting when using the gamepad
  • Fixed renaming saves not working


Version 1.0.6 Patch Notes

Another patch with lots of visual and controller improvements! Also a handful of balance changes - most prominently, getting KO'd a bunch in one fight is no longer so punishing.

  • Characters now only lose Max HP the first time they are KO'd in battle, instead of every time
  • Fixed shop tooltips getting stuck in the top left corner of the screen
  • Trying to buy an item while your inventory is full will now notify you instead of dumping it beneath you where you can't see it
  • Shellworm now has more HP and is immune to Poison, Burn, and Decay
  • Sage's 'Revive' now heals more HP baseline, and scales less severely with stats and ranks
  • Increased Breaker's 'Break Armor' accuracy by 5%

  • Splitworms now only spawn against parties above a certain power level

  • Crafting Kits purchased from vendors in town are now automatically added to the Smithy instead of your inventory
  • Added number display to character editor to make customization easier
  • AI now strongly dislikes staying on the north and south edges of the zone (they don't like being obscured by the UI)
  • Character stats window now maximizes when highlighting the player with the gamepad
  • Fixed touching enemies using the controller counting as a combat action
  • Various minor improvements to gamepad controls
  • Fixed minor typos

New patch! This time lots of bugfixes, some minor visual improvements, and additional refinement of controller support.

Version 1.0.4 Patch Notes

More bugfixes, and a big change this time - controller support! This has taken me a while to put together, and it's not 100% complete. There are some minor issues, listed after the patch notes, but I wanted to get it out there and get some testing done on it. Let me know how it works for you!

  • Added 'BETA' controller support! It's a little rough around the edges, but you should be able to play the entire game with just a controller now. Feedback and bug reports welcome!
  • Added "Keyboard Control" option. When enabled, uses keyboard-specific methods of control so you can theoretically play the entire game with only the keyboard.
  • Modified default keybinds to remove some awkward overlap (Ex: Space as both Confirm and End Turn)
  • Improved keyboard tile selection (can now reach any tile with WASD​)
  • The AoE & icon of upcoming actions now show on the battlefield while selecting movement
  • Fixed hardcore mode autosaving during zone transitions to handcrafted side areas
  • Fixed Preserve so it actually works (something in v1.03 broke it)
  • Amnitorsk is less overprotective of its gem
  • Reduced Skill-based scaling of duration of Brainshock & Wither
  • Fixed edge cases where Zoar Bat could still eliminate party members when disappearing
  • Passives can now only trigger once per turn/ability
  • Nerfed turtles

KNOWN ISSUES:



  • Prompts, hints, and tutorials do not show Gamepad keybindings.
  • Can't select dialog options while Buying/Selling.
  • Can't delete saves without using the mouse.
  • Picking up a corpse with the gamepad counts as a combat action even if you don't move it.

Version 1.0.3 Patch Notes

Time for the first post-Steam patch! An important save bug was fixed in this one. People with corrupted saves should now be able to load those saves.

  • Prayer has higher base MP recovery but greatly reduced Skill & Magic Attack scaling

  • Gemhides can no longer flee while Silenced
