Today is the release day and we are super excited to share American Arcadia with all of you!
In Out of the Blue, we always like to develop new experiences, and we're passionate about exploring new stories in every game. That is why people were surprised by how different the game was from our previous title, Call of the Sea.
Two ideas were really captivating us: the “escaping from a dystopia” theme, which is a kind of story that we all love in Out of the Blue Games, and the 70’s setting and aesthetic, which we believed is not that exploited in games and we find really appealing. So we can say that in the end, American Arcadia was born after combining both of these concepts. But American Arcadia is much more than a “escape from a 70’s dystopia” game.
We wanted to tackle a more contemporary dystopia: the society we currently inhabit. One obsessed with appearance, likes, and instant gratification. A society dominated by exhibitionism, where personal life seems to fade away, and every aspect of our private lives is subject to external scrutiny. The message we would like to share with American Arcadia is that you don't need to share your life to be happy, because in the end, you are not living your life, you are living a display life for others. Just because your life is simple, it doesn’t mean it has to be boring.
American Arcadia is also a story about cooperation and friendship. And this game would not have been possible if it wasn't for the passion, craft, and care that each member of the team has put into the development. This game is huge in every sense, compared to Call of the Sea, and teamwork was the key.
We genuinely hope you immerse yourself in the world we've created and enjoy this tale about privacy and corporate greed to the fullest!

It's almost November 15th, and we're getting closer and closer to the release of American Arcadia!
In our last video in our Voices of Arcadia Series, where we spotlight the amazing voice actors who have brought life to the characters of American Arcadia, we hear from Krizia Bajos, voice of the vivacious and spicy Angela Solano.
Krizia Bajos has voiced characters far and wide across the video game including Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty, and Akali from League of Legends.
From Krizia Bajos, on Angela: "My character Angela she's really cool she's Puerto Riqueña, you know, which my family was raised in Puerto Rico so I'm Cuban background Caribbean...and I was able to add a couple of fun spicy words."

Cissy Jones starred in Out of the Blue's critically acclaimed previous game, Call of the Sea, and returns to voice the vivacious Vivian Walton in American Arcadia. Here she discusses her character and her work on American Arcadia.

The Voices of Arcadia: Yuri Lowenthal as Trevor Hills
American Arcadia is coming to Steam in three weeks!
To celebrate it, we are happy to present The Voices of Arcadia: A series on the amazing voice actors who have helped us to breathe life into our characters.
We start with Yuri Lowenthal, a voice actor with a long career in video games; you may have heard it very recently on Spiderman 2. Listen to him as he discusses his work giving life to Trevor Hills, the main character in American Arcadia: an average man escaping from the world's most popular reality tv show.
After our Q&A session with the Out of the Blue team yesterday, it is time for some action! Join us on Wednesday, October 11st at 4PM CEST, for a demo stream by our Community Manager Karen.

In this demo you’ll experience a section of one of the first chapters in American Arcadia, where you’ll switch back and forth between Trevor and Angela (and the different ways you play the game!) and see how a utopian metropolis becomes a gilded cage with only a little shift in perspective.
This demo will be available during all of Steam Next Fest, so from October 9th to October 16th , so make sure you try it before the end of the event and wishlist it for when the final game is released!
