After our first experiment featuring a giant of the American logistics industry on our in-game dynamic billboards, we are now opening this opportunity to yet another huge logistics company: Swift Transportation.
Swift Transportation is a renowned and long-established transportation company with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1966. With a vast fleet of trucks and a dedicated workforce, the company specializes in providing a wide range of transportation solutions, along with a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
With this new cooperation, we hope to continue inspiring our ATS players who share a deep interest in real-life trucks. For those who have always been intrigued by the idea of a career as a truck driver, this could be the spark that ignites a lifelong journey.
We believe that even the smallest gestures can have a profound impact. By showcasing industry-related content within the game, we aim to create meaningful connections between virtual worlds and real-world opportunities. As countless players pass by our in-game billboards, who knows? Someone might see a recruitment billboard from Swift Transportation and take that as a sign to explore a career in trucking.
We are happy and honoured that Swift Transportation is another mega logistics company seeing huge potential within our #BestCommunityEver and helping us experiment with this innovative concept.
We hope and believe that together, we have a chance to light the path to new careers and aspirations for our ATS players, who are not only virtual truckers but also real-life trucking fans.
Kansas - Water Bodies
The beauty of Kansas goes beyond the endless plains and charming cities, as within its borders lies a number of aquatic wonders waiting to be discovered. So, fasten your seatbelt, and join us today on a journey to see what bodies of water you can expect in the upcoming map expansion for American Truck Simulator.
In the heart of this landlocked state, you'll find a network of rivers that conveniently flow through the region. The mighty Missouri River flows majestically through the northeastern part of the state, while the Kansas River, also known as the Kaw River, meanders from Kansas City to Topeka, offering natural serenity amid the towns and farmlands. Further west, near Hutchinson and Wichita, the Arkansas River adds character to these urban landscapes, blending the natural world with the urban environment.
One of the highlights is definitely El Dorado Lake, located not far from Wichita. While it may not be as expansive as some of the lakes in other states, El Dorado Lake covers a hefty area of 8,000 acres, with the deepest point reaching 60 feet. This reservoir plays a vital role in water resource management and flood control for the region, contributing to the economic and ecological well-being of the area.
In addition to these notable water bodies, Kansas DLC features several smaller dams scattered throughout the state. These dams, along with other reservoirs, though not massive, play essential roles in supporting agricultural activities and offering recreational opportunities. They represent the subtle yet significant part that water bodies play in the state's landscape.
We hope today’s blog post was enough for you to test the waters of the Kansas DLC once it is available. If so, make sure to add the map expansion to your Steam Wishlist to show us your excitement and if you wish to stay in touch with all the latest news, follow us on social media (X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook,TikTok) for instant alerts!
One of the cities to explore in the upcoming Kansas DLC for American Truck Simulator will be Hutchinson. The city is a true hidden gem with a rich history and streets that once thrived thanks to the salt mining industry.
Hutchinson traces its history back to the late 19th century when it was founded in 1871. The city's growth was closely tied to the expansion of the railroad, as it became a strategic railhead for a number of important companies. This transportation connection facilitated the movement of people, goods, and agricultural products in and out of the region, contributing to Hutchinson's early prosperity.
One crucial moment in Hutchinson's history was the discovery of vast underground salt deposits in the late 19th century. This discovery led to the establishment of a thriving salt mining industry, earning the city its nickname "Salt City." The salt mines became a significant economic driver for the area, and over the years, Hutchinson has evolved into a diverse and vibrant community, combining its agricultural heritage with modern attractions.
One of those modern attractions is some of the largest grain elevators and silos in the world. These massive structures play a crucial role in the region's agricultural industry, as they are used for the storage and distribution of grain, particularly wheat and corn. And, most importantly, the in-game Hutchinson will boast the World's Largest Grain Elevator, an iconic landmark that you can't miss. Towering over the landscape, it's a sight to behold as you haul your cargo through this city.
If you are excited to check out the wonderful city of Hutchinson in Kansas DLC, make sure to let us know by adding the map expansion to your Steam Wishlist. And, to always be up to speed with all the latest news, follow us on social media (X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook,TikTok) and never miss out on any important updates regarding this project.

Nebraska - Nature in General
Nebraska’s nature is unlikely to attract crowds of tourists, yet it's clear that exploring this charming state offers a wonderful chance to uncover some of the state's lesser-known treasures. This region boasts quite a number of unique characteristics, such as the Sandhills and an impressive amount of rivers.
Nebraska's landscape is characterized by its vast and open spaces, with much of the state being part of the Great Plains region, which stretches across much of central and western Nebraska. These prairies provide habitats for various species of wildlife and offer a true sense of freedom and tranquility for visitors and locals alike.
With so much open and natural space, Nebraska provides the perfect conditions for a variety agriculture businesses. Therefore it is of no surprise that you'll see and deliver to many farm areas, growing a variety of plants, crops, corn, and more.
In the Sandhills region of Nebraska, you'll find a unique and striking landscape of rolling sand dunes covered in native grasses. This area is known for its distinctive beauty and relatively untouched nature, which makes this special environment a peaceful sanctuary that feels far removed from the bustling world.
Given the states vastness and open areas, our teams aspires to portray Nebraska's reality, however, this comes with a few challenges. We continue to remain mindful and aware of the players POV, to create create a journey that has purpose and matches expectations both gameplay and scenery wise. We hope we can find the right balance given how vast and open Nebraska truly is. We are open to hear your thoughts on how this could be achieved in the blog comments or on our forums.

Described as “the loveliest site in the world for a town,” Emporia was founded in 1857. Today, it is known as an "authentic small city" located on the edge of the Flint Hills of Kansas. Today's blog features the work our team has undertaken to recreate the industrial part of the city in our upcoming Kansas DLC for American Truck Simulator, and what drivers can expect to find there.
Don't let the small town atmosphere fool you, this city has quite the busy industry area, featuring warehouses that supply local businesses, shopping malls for its residents, gas stations, factories and even a food plant! You'll find no shortage of delivery contracts in this area.
However, if you are just passing through, why not take a moment to enjoy some of the landmarks that can be found around Emporia, including the Welcome sign which is made from flint sourced locally.
Other landmarks include the Clint Bowyer Community Building, donated by local racing legend Clint Bowyer to give residents a space to use for activities, talks, and more!
So whether you are driving through or making a stop, be sure to take a minute to admire what the city of Emporia has to offer. We look forward to showcasing more from our upcoming Kansas DLC with you; until then, keep on truckin'.
The Oklahoma DLC for American Truck Simulator arrived on Steam around two weeks ago, and since then, we've been busy sifting through a huge influx of input from all of you. Our developers have been working tirelessly to keep tabs on it across various platforms and we thought it was only right to give back some appreciation to our #BestCommunityEver by highlighting various experiences with the new map expansion.
Let's kick things off with a brief selection of pictures and videos, which have flooded our social media. Reading about your journeys through this state has been a real delight and as always, we're making sure to share the most captivating posts with everyone in-house. Remember to keep tagging us on X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok; we're committed to catching all the action!
We're also thrilled by the hundreds of positive reviews on Steam. We extend our gratitude to everyone who took the time to either tell us about their favorite aspects of the DLC or provided us with invaluable suggestions for improvement. Here are a few standout reviews we've enjoyed. If you're inclined to craft your own review, you're welcome to do so on the Oklahoma Steam Store Page.
We've also reached out to some of your beloved content creators, and they generously shared brief reviews about their experiences. We would like to thank all of them for sharing with us their opinions and allowing us to pass them along to our blog readers.
The new Oklahoma DLC for American Truck Simulator offers an immersive and authentic driving experience through the diverse landscapes of the state. From bustling cities to rural farmlands, the DLC provides a well-crafted depiction of Oklahoma's beauty. Being a former over-the-road truck driver in the United States before moving to Sweden, this helps me reminisce back to the days when I used to travel the I-40 Interstate through Oklahoma. The attention to detail in the road networks, landmarks, and scenery enhances the realism of the game. Whether you're a dedicated trucking enthusiast or simply looking for a refreshing addition to the game, the Oklahoma DLC is a solid choice.
Absolutely thrilled to have had the chance to experience the Oklahoma DLC for American Truck Simulator! As a truck lover, diving into the diverse landscapes and vibrant cities has been an absolute joy. The state's rich history and thriving industries, like bus factories and tire factories, make for an engaging trucking experience. The attention to detail in places like Gloss Mountain and Beavers Bend State Parks truly makes this DLC a trucker's dream. The peculiarity of this map, which surprised me and especially my community during the live broadcasts, is the presence of some particular roads that make the journey more intriguing and exciting. Can't wait to continue this exciting journey on the road!
In my opinion, Oklahoma is one of the most beautiful states in America, and I am very glad that our dear developers have finally added it to the game. The detail of all ten cities and landscapes is amazing. My viewers and I enjoyed spending time checking out new roads and cities, and we even found an interesting hidden road! The views in the expansion are really nice and you can look at them for ages! Everything looks very nice and the DLC is definitely worth your attention. Thank you, SCS Software for the new and great addition to the game. I am sure that it will be even better and better from now on!
Oklahoma is OK! (Get it? Eh? *Cricket noises*) Honestly, this state is simply a relaxing and unique one to drive through! I love when we get a new state like no other before because, during my live streams, everyone from the state always points out the realistic recreations of towns that are important to them and things you can only see in Oklahoma. From the truck stops to the Tulsa Airport and the School Bus Factory, you will find scenery and pickup locations that look like no other in the game. SCS did a great job of showing the wide open plains as well as the mountain parts of the southeast. It connects the bordering states with many more back roads than I ever expected! Thanks, SCS, for yet another wonderful addition to the ever-expanding American Truck Simulator!
Alongside the DLC launch, we launched the #CruisingOklahoma World of Trucks event and in just over two weeks, you've managed to surpass over 75% of the community goal of 111,000,000 miles (178,637,184 km). Really good going! No need to rush though; you still have until the 1st of October at 23:59 UTC to secure your personal rewards and help out with the community goal. More details are available in the dedicated blog post.
In conclusion, it's evident that we've been absolutely overwhelmed with feedback since the release. To tackle The Sooner State and make it as diverse as possible posed a challenge to our developers, and we're thrilled that the project has garnered much attention. A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you!
Today we're happy to share with you not one, but two cities from Kansas, our in-development map expansion for American Truck Simulator! From local industries to landmarks, let's delve into what these areas can offer truck drivers.

Near the city limits, you'll find the visitor centre, also known as the 'Grain Bin' thanks to its unique design which incorporates traditional Kansas limestone with a a real grain bin.
From there, you'll come across other prominent landmarks such as the Thomas County Courthouse, the First Presbyterian Church, the Pioneer Memorial Library and the Colby Mall. Be sure to explore a little when you do pass by, you'll never know what you might find!

Welcome to Hays, a city where history, education, and natural beauty can all be found! Located amidst the rolling plains of the Sunflower State, Hays invites you to explore its captivating blend of past and present.
Founded in 1867 as the southern branch of the Union Pacific Railroad, it has become a bustling city with a variety of local industries. On your visit in American Truck Simulator, you can find jobs to and from the battery factory, local city works, a dynamic parking depot, car and truck dealer, furniture and supermarket stores.
