Happy (early) Halloween to everyone itching for spooks and scares!
A brand new update has released in conjunction with the festivities, providing a whole new movement mode to play through An Uninvited Guest.
*NEW*
WASD Movement Mode
Point and click can be a niche appeal for some. I'd like to cater to a larger audience by introducing a entirely new movement mode to hide and escape from The Guest's intrusion.
The entire game of An Uninvited Guest can now be played with the standard WASD movement that majority of games utilize in the modern age. The movement mode can be changed from the main menu in the new 'Difficulty and Movement Options' section. (Difficulty has also been moved to here instead of the general options menu)
New difficulty and movement options menu
With WASD movement, objects are interacted with by right clicking to enter interaction mode. Interaction mode draws parallels to the point and click style that is already present. Hiding spots can be hidden in by clicking on the arrow when near.
Head bobbing is present in the WASD movement. This can be disabled for those who experience motion sickness. WASD look sensitivity can also be adjusted to your liking in the normal options menu.
Explore the House Entirely
Every floor is now accessible to explore during the intro of the game. This can be used to familiarize with the upstairs floors before The Guest poses any threat. However, any items in the upstairs rooms are not able to picked up until the countdown begins. (Can't make it too easy now!)
Halloween!
A few 'Halloween-themed vegetables' can be found around the house
Other Minor Additions/Fixes
Pressing buttons on the safe now prompts what was pressed. Previously, it was hard to know which button represented which number
The house has experienced slight renovations. This helps to prevent some under-the-hood issues with the new WASD movement style. Most noticeably, the doorway to the dining room has been made smaller.
Renamed cupboard key to closet key to avoid confusion with kitchen cupboards
The intro could be skipped earlier than intended. This has been resolved
The game is also taking part in the Steam Scream Fest! If you haven't got it yet, get it now for a massive 40% off.
This update is the last of currently planned additions to the game. Thank you to all who have enjoyed it so far. It has received amazing feedback from many and I can't wait to continue releasing new games in the future.
Next is full steam ahead into finishing the first chapter of The Suits Have Gone Mad! I will try to post more updates on the game up till release (mainly on twitter). I hope you are looking forward to that!
Cheers -Blnk Dev

Update 1.4 Official Announcement + Beta Release?
After a micro hiatus while I am silently working away, oh boy do I have some good news for you!
As previously mentioned, a new update is set to be released this month for An Uninvited Guest. This update will release on the 25th of October, featuring the new WASD movement mode.
The 25th is a while away, however, I'm wanting to try something new...
The update will be available early for anyone who wishes to try it out before the official release. It will be able to be played through a beta branch on the steam client. The branch will be an early build so it is expected to have bugs that may impact user experience.
When will the beta branch be available to the public you say?
No better time than RIGHT NOW!!!!
Navigate to An Uninvited Guest and find the beta opt-ins window. Use the code below to get first-hand access to the update!!

Here's a brief run-down of the update so far:
WASD movement added. Movement mode can be chosen from the main menu.
The player is now allowed to enter the upper floors during the intro. This should allow easier discovery and exploration before The Guest enters
Renamed cupboard key to closet key to avoid confusion with kitchen cupboards
The intro could be skipped earlier than intended. This has been resolved
It would be most helpful if you would let me know of any bugs encountered in the beta, or any other ideas that you have!

A Teeny Bit of News for Next Month?
Hey everyone, been a while!
I've been hard at work trying to get the first chapter of The Suits Have Gone Mad out as soon as possible. It has been coming along slowly for the time being so I don't feel prepared to announce anything more about it just yet.
To keep the eager beavers entertained, another large update to An Uninvited Guest is in the works.
The next update will be adding a whole new movement mode. This mode follows the more traditional and standard WASD movement that everyone has grown accustomed to. This will be an optional choice for players to play through the entirety of An Uninvited Guest.
Adding a new movement requires heavy modification to the foundations that the game is built on, which is posing to be quite the time-consuming task. It will release next month, right on time with the rest of the spooky festivities of Halloween.
I hope you look forward to the next update!
Cheers, Blnk Dev
CHALLENGE MODE UPDATE + NEW GAME REVEAL
Great news today. I've got a new update AND a reveal for the next game!
The fresh and new 'Challenge Mode Update' for An Uninvited Guest is now out. This adds 'Challenge Mode', an extra degree of replay-ability to the game. A new difficulty selection is also available for the normal part of the game.
Challenge Mode is unlocked after completing the 'Jack Of All Traps' ending once.
Try to complete 'Jack Of All Traps' as fast as possible, alongside the introduction of optional challenges that affect the normal gameplay loop.
There are 8 challenges to choose from. Multiple challenges can be active at the same time:
Glue Hands - Items cannot be dropped from your inventory
Item Shuffle - All trap-related item locations are shuffled
Eternal Dark - The power is always out
Hardcore - The Guest is more aggressive
Small Pockets - Inventory space is reduced to 2 slots
Tunnel Vision - Distractions do not affect The Guest
Forced Entry - The Guest enters immediately without a countdown
4 Traps - An additional trap must be used to be able to escape
Completing runs with challenges active provide rewards to the player:
3 new achievements are added for completing runs with at least 1/3/5 challenges active.
3 challenge rewards are given when completing runs with at least 2/4/6 challenges active. These rewards can be activated in challenge mode to provide help to the player.
Completing a run with all 8 challenges gives a special little reward...
Aside from the Challenge Mode, players can now choose between two difficulty settings for the game:
Normal - Same as how the game has previously been
Easy - The Guest cannot sneak up behind the player when his presence is felt. This means that The Guest can always be noticed by his shadow before catching the player (excluding the attic)
Difficulty setting is ignored in Challenge Mode
Other smaller quality of life updates are as follows:
Most of the shadows have been made to stand out more against the ground/wall. This should make it easier to spot the shadow of The Guest.
Dorsum cubiculums is easier to discover. If you notice the object with a weird anomaly, click on it.
Some players would forget to return the key and wander aimlessly for a long period of time. A prompt now shows when trying to return to the computer game early.
To celebrate, the game will be 20% off for the week of the update.
That concludes the new features of the Challenge Mode Update. I hope you all give Challenge Mode a go and I can't wait to see the times people will manage to achieve!
But that's not all...
The Suits Have Gone Mad! is a brand-new episodic series where you unravel the mysteries behind the monopoly of Blake & Whitley Innovations and bring color into the world.
Blake & Whitley Innovations A business behemoth in the world, dominating the market in tone production and distribution. Employees are pushed to the limits with little reward.
Play as the average-joe, Theo Blue, a senior innovator for the company who accidentally stumbles across color while working a usual day. Executives witness this discovery and mysteriously demand for his apprehension.
Watch the reveal trailer below, providing a small glimpse at the unique setting:
Thank you very much for reading through. I appreciate everyone of you! Game development is still currently just a passion of mine but hopefully it can evolve into something more! - Blnk Dev

Hey all,
Version 1.2 of An Uninvited Guest is now available. Details of the update listed below:

Added a prompt when entering the attic while having the mousetrap in your inventory
Improved click collision for some objects
Intro events were not occurring when the click count was over 1000. This has been fixed

What's next for An Uninvited Guest and the studio?
Currently, we are working on a larger update to the game that introduces a brand new 'Challenge Mode', adding more replayability and a new level of difficulty to the game. We are most likely going to be pushing this update out to players next month so you can look forward to that in the near future.
Extremely early work has also been started on the next game from our studio. While any reveals of it remain secret as of now, we can say that we are very excited to create a new interesting concept for people to immerse themselves in. It will also have no relation to An Uninvited Guest and feature very different gameplay.
Thanks for tuning in and hope everyone continues to enjoy An Uninvited Guest!
