This is my first game, and I'm figuring all of this out as I go along. You guys have been anticipating this for ever, and so have I! I hope you have some time this weekend to explore the game and engage with the growing Anemoiapolis community.
thanks, Andrew

Message from the developer:
Anemoiapolis is a labor of love, built during my spare weekends/holidays/evenings. During that time, I've obtained a diploma, a long overdue ADHD diagnosis, and -- perplexingly -- a fresh wedding certificate. So yeah, I can see why it took so dang long.
After the huge response to last year's beta, I knew I had to make this game the best it could be. Instead of rushing out the rest, I focused on adding a bit more depth and replayability.
Finally, chapter 1 is nearing completion and it's freaking me out in a good way. A huge thanks to all the people out there who share my odd fixations.
-Andrew Quist
Steam release has been postponed to 2022
Hello Steam users,
I am very excited about Anemoiapolis in its current form, and I seriously cannot wait to show you all it has to offer. But there are just too many things that need extra polish, extra development, and more love poured into it.
Last year I was busy planning my own wedding (I'm a solo dev) and had a few unfortunate health issues. Due to these things I was not able to meet my 2021 goal. I hope you will all understand!
The first half of Chapter 1 is finished and playable, but it is not available on steam. I believe Steam users expect a level of quality that this extra development time will afford me.
I am not putting a beta release on Steam, because having a singular release is the best way to put out the game to the most people. In the meantime, check out the videos and social media posts I've put out while developing!

A Work in Progress
For those of you who don't keep up on Instagram or Twitter, I've been steadily working on the game for the better part of a year. I'm proud of the new environments I've created and I hope I can exceed the expectations that the Demo has put forward. The game also saves progress now and has a pause menu (yay for basic functionality!). I thought I'd do a little write-up for curious followers and intrigued Steam users.
A few decisions I've made regarding development are listed here:
-I still want to release the game before 2022, but also I'm getting married soon so, like, we'll see about that...
-There will be an option to turn off monsters for those who want a more atmospheric experience.
-Most of the dialogue will be text elements instead of voice acting. This allows for faster development and less critiques about my programmer acting ;)
-There will be collectables (and achievements for steam users).
It seems that the pool environments are quite popular, so I've elaborated on these sections quite a bit. There are a lot of interesting nostalgic memories that come with water parks and I really wanted to capture their ethereal essence. You will definitely get your feet wet again!
I've tried to add a lot more 'subtlety' to entities you encounter in the new sections. Many times you won't know if you're actually being followed, or if it's all in your head.
I don't want to reveal too much, but I'm repurposing my previous project to make some... rather interesting environments in the game. Think House of Leaves meets Dunder Mifflin.
I'll stop spoiling the whole game now and continue working. Thanks for following along, and I hope you are looking forward to release as much as I am!
