Anew: The Distant Light

We're going to DreamHack in LA!

We're pleased to announce that Anew: The Distant Light was selected for showcasing at DreamHack! We'll be at the Anaheim Convention Center in CA on February 21-23 in the Indie Playground section. Stop by to play the game and chat with our game director.

Development on Anew has progressed very well since our last update. We recently hired on an exceptionally talented full-time freelance designer to help accelerate progress to the finish line. We are also very excited to let you all know that we've finally hit our "world complete" milestone. Yes, that means the entire massive, hand-crafted world for our game is done! We think you're going to be blown away by it's scope and diversity. We also hope you like secret rooms, because we've hidden lots of these into the game world for you to discover.

In the coming months we will focus on creating our final batch of enemy characters and creatures, boss battle encounters, and then populating them into the game world. Our brilliant composer, Wilbert Roget, II will be writing some of the final pieces of music for the game as well. We still have lots of work to do, but we're making excellent headway.

Please keep an eye on us on Twitter, Facebook, and join our Discord as well!

Thanks again for your support,
Steve and Jeff

December Update: What Have We Been Up To?

Greetings!

We wanted to pass along a quick update on the development of Anew: The Distant Light for the month of December. Our small team of two full-time developers continues to work around the clock on content for the game, including new characters, boss battles, and the final zone for the game world - The Desert. Our brilliant composer, Wilbert Roget, II, continues to write new music for Anew, incorporating live soloists into his score made up of synthesized electronic sounds and virtual instruments.

The scope of our game is massive and it has been an equally massive task to bring it to completion. We are working extremely hard to create something very special, and we appreciate your continued support and patience. We don't want to rush anything - but we do want to get it into your hands as soon as possible. Once we nail down a release window for Anew, we'll be sure to let you know here and on our social media channels: https://twitter.com/AnewTheGame, https://www.facebook.com/anewthegame.

We also invite you to join our Discord at https://discord.gg/thedistantlight where we are active with our community, chatting about development, answering questions about our game, and more.

We are here! We are working! The game is progressing!

Thanks,
Steve and Jeff

October Dev Update

We've been pretty quiet on the updates front lately, and that's entirely due to our focus on making Anew as awesome as it can be! Since we're a small team of two full time developers (plus freelance composer), staying laser-focused on creating the game, at this point in our schedule, is of the utmost importance. We just wanted to come up for a bit of air and let you good folks know that things are going really well, and the game is shaping up excellently.

Since our last update this summer, we've been hard at work on a number of things, including boss battles, completing the final large biome in the game world, wrapping up the story elements in the game, and many other tasks. Anew is a HUGE game (you're going to be blown away), and it's been tremendously challenging and rewarding for our small dev team to bring it to life.

Thanks very much for the continued support in the form of social media likes/follows, wishlisting, and sharing Anew with your friends. We notice each and every act of kindness and it really helps us to make the game great and bring it closer to completion.

We are active on our Discord, so feel free to join up and say hello: https://discord.gg/thedistantlight. If you're on Twitter, be sure to follow us: https://twitter.com/AnewTheGame

Thanks,
Steve and Jeff

New Boss Battle Art Reveal - "Mother"

We proudly present one of our brand new bosses, "Mother." She will be a force to reckon with - a massive fixed creature with a variety of nasty attacks. Anyone care to guess what these attacks may be? Leave a comment!

Anew @ E3 2019

We had a fantastic showing at this year's E3 convention in Los Angeles. Our game was selected to demo at The MIX indie games showcase on 6/12. We had a great showing, met lots of excellent developers and business folks, and also streamed our demo live on Twitch at the event.

We were also selected to demo our game on the exclusive GameSpot live-streaming stage show, smack-dab in the middle of the main E3 show floor! This was an incredible opportunity to show off Anew to an on-foot crowd at E3, as well as a large audience watching on Twitch and GameSpot's website.

As a result of these public showings, our wish list numbers on Steam doubled in a day! Thanks so much to those of you who are interested in the game we've been working on, full-time, for so long.

More to come,
Steve and Jeff
