Hi there, everybody!
Here's the latest update to Anthropomachy.
In version 1.20 we are introducing several new events as well as some minor bug fixes.

We want to thank you all from the huge amounts of feedback we have received. We hope with this update we are making the game even more enjoyable for you.

Here's what we've updated in this version:

- New god-specific events;
- Fixed bug when unlocking certain achievements;
- Fixed bug when displaying the End Game screen;
- Fixed several minor bugs and typing errors;

Other than bug fixes, this will be the last planned update we will release for Anthropomachy.
Once again, thank you all for your love and help. There's plenty more to come from us as we'll begin working on our next project right away, so keep an eye out on social media (Facebook - Twitter - YouTube - Instagram - Reddit) and our blog for what's next!

Anthropomachy Update Log (v1.10)

Hi there, everybody!
This is the first update for Anthropomachy since our release last week.
We want to thank you ALL for showing interest in our game, the response has been much bigger that we ever expected!

A special thanks to everybody who took the time to send us their feedbacks on our Steam forum and social media, most of the updates we're bringing here today are based on what you guys are sending us so, keep them coming!

Also, we ask that if you enjoyed the game, please write a positive review!
Since we're a small company (two people) with no marketing budget, we depend solely on our review score to have any visibility on Steam.
On the other hand, if you found a problem with the game we ask you to please give us a chance to fix it before writing a negative review. Send us a message on our forum or social media and we will look into it.
Help us make Anthropomachy even better!

Heads up: DO NOT use save files from older versions as these will not work properly with this update.

Here's what we've updated in this version:

- Reduced every ability cooldown in half;
- Temples now may allow for an ability accuracy to reach 100%;
- Changed skepticism impact for most events;
- Skepticism will now only affect your followers at 40% (previously 25%);
- Increased the number of errors needed to increase Skepticism (previously skepticism would rise 1% for every 3 errors, now it takes 5);
- New credits video featuring all gods;

We hope you enjoy what this update brings and if you find any issues, you know where to find us!

Anthropomachy v0.40 update log

How are you doing, guys and girls? Today we introduce to you the all-new all-improved Anthopomachy v0.40!
I know we said this a couple of times but once again, this is the biggest update to Anthropomachy ever! And, as with every major update: Old save files won't work!

We talked a bit about it in a blog post a couple of weeks ago and now it's finally here!

Now, the very long list of everything that has been changed on this version:

- New Conversion/Skepticism bar showing the current state of your conquering effort and your goals;
- Added Temple mechanic where building a temple on a given country will cost you more than one preacher;
- Country attributes now have 4 different colors depending on their current level;
- Adopted country's real population numbers as conversion metric;
- Map and bars now appear in a custom color for each god;
- Fixed and added new SFX when casting abilities and upgrading traits on the Skill Tree;
- Added simple VFXs when casting abilities;
- New Culture icon;
- Added new Faith and Preacher icons;
- No longer showing World Conversion on the country bar when no country is selected;
- Included a border when hovering for countries that already have temples built;
- Reduced the incidence of error on most abilities;
- Overhauled the ability cooldown system;
- New and more detailed ability window;
- New and more detailed event option window;
- Added effect of event decision on event result window;
- Reduced ability accuracy bonus per temple from 10% to 1%;
- Reduced the skepticism impact of consecutive ability errors from 5% to 1%;
- Raised the country conversion limit per affected attribute from 10% to 15%;
- Honor bonus reduced from 1.5x - 4x to 1x - 3x;
- Honor level and population multiplier are now disconsidered when casting an ability on a country with ineffective attributes;
- Honor bonus now runs parallel with the ability type. Curses with have bonus with low honor and Blessings with high honor;
- Added specific error message when casting abilities with opposite effects on the same country;
- Fixed a bug on the Ability Hit method that allowed for an ability to have a higher accuracy than excepected;
- Balancing adjustments;
- General performance improvements;
- Fixed UI bugs on older monitors;
- Fixed bug that caused crash when player ran out of events;
- Updated the tutorial;

Ok, that was a lot. But the big changes are the improved UI and the new Conversion/Skepticism bar. We feel both of those will enhance your experience giving more detailed information and overall helping the flow of the game.

The idea for the bar is simple, If the bar reaches 75% conversion, you've won! If skepticism gets to 50% before that, you've lost.
Also, once you reach 50% conversion you will also start converting some skeptics and, on the other hand, if Skepticism reaches 25%, you'll start losing some previously-converted followers as well.

We've also updated the UI for the ability and event details window. Now you should have even more control over how a specific ability will work and better manage your strategy.

Notice that abilities now have a cooldown period so plan their usage accordingly.
In this effort to give you more information we've also changed the countries attributes to the following scale:

We hope all these changes will give you a better feeling of control when conquering Earth and allow for better planning your strategy.

On a side note, as we've mentioned on our blog post, we're also very excited to announce that we'll be at Brazil Game Show on Oct 9th - 13th! So if you happen to attend the event, come visit us on our booth!

Soon we'll announce the official release date for the game as well as the remaining main gods. Here's a (heavily edited as to not make it obvious) sneak peek:

As always, keep playing Anthropomachy, keep sending us your feedback as they are the only way we can make the game better for you!

Anthropomachy v0.30 update log

It's here! The biggest update to Anthropomachy so far!
With this update we are releasing a complete new Skepticism system as some other smaller changes and bug fixes that you guys reported since the start of the Early Access period.

Here's the complete rundown of what we've changed:

- New Events/Skepticism system
- Added 31 Steam Achievements
- After converting a country, a preacher is sent to a neighboring nation
- Added text to inform current levels of conversion and skepticism on their respective bars
- Updated the Tutorial to explain the new mechanics
- Fix allowing native fullscreen support on older monitors
- Fixed bug that allowed countries to have over 5000 conversion
- Fixed bug that allowed traits to be upgraded above 99% on certain situations
- Fixed bug that lost the game with faith under 100 (you'll lose if your faith goes lower than 50)
- Changed purchase cost of certain abilities
- Added an Early Access banner to main menu
- General performance enhancements

As we've mentioned in our last post, Skepticism is no longer affected by news and will be controlled by your decisions when events pop up. Your decision-making skills will either give you great bonuses or doom your conquering effort.
Consecutive errors when casting powers will also add to people's skepticism of you, so be careful.

One important aspect is that because of this new feature, old save files WILL NOT WORK properly and should NOT be used from now on.

After you successfully convert a country, you'll gain a new preacher that will automatically be sent to a neighboring country.

In order to help you understand better what you need to convert a country and how close to losing you may be, we added some auxiliary text above the conversion and skepticism bars.
Please notice that countries conversion will only go up to 5000 while skepticism goes to 30000.

We have also added 31 Steam Achievements to the game, although those were already showing on our store page since we started testing.
Let's see who'll be able to unlock them all.

We also updated the tutorial to explain the new mechanics and fix some texts that you felt were not clear enough. If you already went through the tutorial, you'll need to go to Options and disable the "Hide Tutorial" checkbox in order to see the tutorial again.

And we added this awesome new banner to our main menu so it becomes even easier for your guys to send us your feedback here on Steam.

We're not done yet. On the coming weeks we'll also show you guys some more changes we're making to gameplay and we're sure you'll love it.

As always, keep supporting Anthropomachy and please send us your feedback. Most of what we're fixing today came from your thoughts after playing it.
We know the game still needs more improvements to reach its full potential and we count on you to help us out making Anthropomachy a great game.

See you soon!

Upcoming updates

Hey guys!

Today we would like to show you a bit of what we've been working on and what will be included in Anthropomachy's next update!

The biggest change will be that Skepticism will no longer be determined by news appearing on the news bar randomly. You will be entirely responsible for the lack of Faith on you based on your own decisions.
Every now and then an event window will popup giving you 2 choices of course of action that you may take. (In certain special situations, a third option may appear depending on your previous decisions and overall strategy up to that point so keep an eye out for these opportunities!)
If you happen to make the correct choice you'll gain something: a bonus for one of your traits, more Faith, extra preachers, maybe even an honor boost... or make a mistake and see people's skepticism of your existence increase.

We believe this will be a major change to our gameplay, demanding more decision-making from the player and improving the overall dynamic of the game.

This feature is now being tested and hopefully we'll be able to bring it to you in the next couple of weeks.

One other thing we've been working on is that we're bringing Steam Achievements to Anthropomachy!
Steam kind of spoiled that one when we tested them but although they are already appearing as a feature on the store page, they will only go live with the next update.
So for all you completionists out there, let's see which of you will be able to unlock them all.

That’s it for today! We’re very excited to bring you these new features and can't wait for your feedbacks on them! See you soon!

Anthropomachy v0.21 update log

Alright guys, here's another update to Anthropomachy. This one is a minor update fixing some reported bugs and improving some aspects of the tutorial and UI.
Once again we'd like to thank everybody who reached out to us reporting bugs and giving us your honest feedback.

Now onto what this update actually does:

- Implemented a fix to always boot the game as fullscreen the first time the game is initiated
- Fixed a bug where the resolution and quality dropdowns in the options menu were not correctly populated the first time the game is booted
- Fixed a bug that prevented some players from changing the audio volume during the game
- Inclusion of a couple new screens on the tutorial
- Added tutorial navigation using keyboard arrows
- Minor fixes on power details texts and impact for clarification

In the next couple of weeks we'll be working on some bigger changes to the game (mainly a complete overhaul of the skepticism mechanic that should make the gameplay much more dynamic).

Please, keep the feedbacks coming and together we'll make Anthropomachy a great game.

See you soon!
