Bad good news

A lot has changed during the early access period of the game:
1. Improved achievement images
2. Added 17 new modes (the game now has a total of 27)
3. Added multiplayer: co-op and competitive, as well as football and basketball
4. Added a map editor, although later it was cut
5. Completely redesigned graphics
6. New tracks have been added
7. Added one new map

Unfortunately, when I added all this to the game, I absolutely did not monitor the cleanliness of the project. This all led to the fact that the project, after so much time, is very difficult to complete, and to implement some things (the return of the map editor, online multiplayer) it is necessary to rewrite a significant part of the project, for which I have neither the time nor the energy.

I made a decision to finish the game as much as possible without serious investment in time:
1. Complete all achievement pictures
2. Add hints to the selection of modes how to open other modes
3. Make it clearer in multiplayer who won
And release from early access.

However, I understand that some people expected to see more over time than it actually will, so I'm announcing the second part of the game, in which I will no longer make such mistakes during development, and everyone who bought Antisnake before Antisnake 2 was released will be able to get the second part for free.

Winter update #1

I finally returned to gamedev and updates will be more frequent now.

1. Totally new graphics (press 'B' to change design).
2. Editor now returned.
3. Great debug and optimization.

Beta update

Okay, the game wasn't update about a month.
Anyway, I still work on huge update that announced in June. But I can't see the end of my work and decided to publish update in beta. You'll still can play old stable version instead of new unstable version. Steam will give you a chose when you'll try to launch game. For new version, select [Antisnake beta].

List of changes:
1. Graphics. New style, but not completed yet.
2. Menus. Now you'll select number of players before mode.
3. 9 new modes (however, few modes are bugged now - Narrow and Wall graphically, Fat and Bombball has very bugged multiplayer).
4. Mini-games. Anyway, I realised only 2 minis now - football and volleyball.
5. New openning system. Open new modes by completing 3rd and 5th levels.

We work on full project redesign, to make the game more beautiful. In next few weeks the game will be redesigned for more simple graphics, and any player will be able to switch graphical pattern whenever he wants. We didn't decide which way player can switch patterns - to choose colors for every object by himself (or find out them on Steam Workshop) or use prepared patterns.




2. Level-up and openning system


Many people ask me for make level-up system: open content after player achieves something or playing enought times. For example, some portion of this system using in game now - 8 gamemodes locked until player completes some levels in openned modes. But I want to make totally new lvl-up system.


3. New gamemodes and mini-games


We have ideas for 42 gamemodes but only 18 of them realised now. Some of them will be single-player only.
Also, several mini-games will appear in the game. For example, football. Two snakes will beat back accelerating ball to oppent to make goal.


4. Steam Workshop integration


Current map editor's state is not very very beta. It's bad. We want to allow you to share your own maps across Steam Community and improve editor.


5. Online-multiplayer


There are many problems with our server, and we can't open online-multiplayer across Internet now. But, we will open LAN multiplayer in few weeks, and you will be able to play online using tunneling engines or port forwarding.


6. Price increasing


We are small group of starting developers, and game's salings are very small. We want to make HQ games, but we can't make them by our forces. The game price is still open to discuss, and we want to ask current game's community about price that Antisnake deserve.


7. Flexible settings


We want to add many languages (русский, например) to the game, make resizable screen resolution and more.


8. Twitch integration

8 new game modes!

New unlockable game modes:
1. Nodeath mode - try to beat the game without death
2. Endless mode - snake will not decrease
3. Bubble mode - snake "cut-offs" will increase its size over time
4. Reverse mode - all controls reversed
5. Rhombus mode - snake moving with +45 degrees
6. Shifty mode - all walls shiftng
7. Runaway - catch your food before eat
8. Bounce mode - food moving and bouncing against walls

To unlock them complete levels in game. 3 of new modes can be unlocked only in Nodeath mode. Nodeath mode can be unlocked by completing level 7 in any mode.

Achievements for new modes will appear tomorrow.

Map editor is here!
But:
1. Only necessery elements, no moving objects or graphics sets,
2. No save across game launching,
3. No mode switching,
4. No Steam Workshop sharing,
5. No errors check.
