Anykey

Minor Patch (Again)

Pushed a small patch today! (Version 1.1.1). Biggest change is that you can now use literally any key (except for Escape) to play, instead of the previous 60-ish keys.

Minor patch

Hey all!
There was a bug in the previous versions of the game that caused the in-game 'Leaderboards' menu to not work properly. Turns out that was because the game was exported to be compatible with 32 bit systems, and the Steam API wasn't.
Leaderboards should now function in game, and the menu has also received some minor polish. However, the game will no longer work on 32-bit windows systems, unfortunetly. If any 32 bit players out there really want to see that changed, make sure to let me know!
Cheers,
Sciman101

ANYKEY Update!

Hey, all! Today marks the first major update for ANYKEY, adding two new features that should hopefully improve the experience for people who don't have as many other folks to play with.

LEADERBOARDS

There are 4 leaderboards, each tracking your current best score in each respective game mode. Now, you can finally track where you stand among all of the other keymashers who play! Leaderboards are available from the main menu, and will display scores based on whichever game mode you have currently active.

BOTS

Now, if you've got no one else to play with, you can add up to 3 simple bot players! Bots are distinguished from regular players by their shorter trail, brighter colors, and unique names! Bots can be accessed from the settings menu.

Bugfixes

  • Hopefully fixed an issue where the game sometimes generates massive text logs

Thank you all so much for sticking around this long, I never would have expected my little project to accumulate as much attention as it has. Hope you all enjoy!

ANYKEY will be shown at the Criss Cross Gaming meetup! Plus, update news

The kind folks at Criss Cross Gaming have decided to feature ANYKEY as part of their monthly local multiplayer games meetup! The event is held in Switzerland on the first Sunday of every month, with free attendance to get to play 4 specially curated local multiplayer games! The next meeting is April 1st. For more details, check out their Twitter

Also make sure to check out Indie Toaster's Free Game Roundup for this month, also featuring ANYKEY! Link here

Lastly, I'm working on a new update right now, which will hopefully make the game more enjoyable for when you don't have a bunch of people to play with. It should hopefully be out by the end of April.

See you then!
