PATCH 1.07 LIVE: Localized subtitles, support for SteamVR input 2.0 & more
Our acclaimed VR action/adventure Apex Construct has been updated with localized subtitles/tutorials for 5 additional languages, making it easier to dig deep into the interesting story of the game! In addition, support for SteamVR Input 2.0 now means proper Knuckles support + better WMR key/action bindings.

Full patch 1.07 notes:

  • Added support for SteamVR Input 2.0. This brings proper Knuckles support and better WMR key/action bindings (such as being able to use the joysticks)
  • Added localization support for subtitles & tutorial for English, German, French, Spanish, Korean & Japanese
  • Added armed sound to grenades to hint that it's about to go BOOM!
  • Fixed an issue where some settings weren't saved when exiting the game
  • Fixed so it's possible to teleport using the left stick when teleportation is off
  • Fixed an issue where loot drops could be dropped on places the player couldn't reach
  • Fixed so access cards always show the correct level
  • Fixed an issue where a player could teleport out of a moving elevator

Minor Update: Added new startup screen for players without a VR headset connected
Just a very minor update where we have added a new startup screen for players starting Apex Construct while not having a VR headset connected. This new screen will ask players to connect their headsets and restart the game.

We also hope it will help clarify that Apex Construct is a VR only game...;-)

Apex Construct DEMO now available for download!
A gameplay demo of Apex Construct is now available for download here on Steam, letting you try the first introductory level of the game.

Following the demo experience, the main game allows you to enter a safe house where you can upgrade your equipment, store collectibles and learn more about what happened to the shattered world. From the safe house mission selection screen, you can proceed through 12 missions with intense bow & shield combat against Mothr’s robots, as well as enjoy exploration & puzzle solving made from the ground up for VR. Competitive players can also enter the arena in added game mode Cygnia Cup Challenge to chase highscores and climb the global leaderboards.

With the many improvements made to Apex Construct lately, we really hope you decide to try out the demo. Please let us know what you think!

Patch 1.05 live: Increased walk/run/turn speed, level design tweaks, balancing fixes & bug squashing!
Yet another update to Apex Construct is here, addressing some of the issues that players have given feedback on: We have increased the default free locomotion walking/running + turning speed, made some level & gameplay balancing tweaks (e.g. increased your survival chances in the dreaded level called “The Device”:-) and more.

Full 1.05 Patch Notes:

  • Improved Free Locomotion: Default walk & sprint speeds have been raised.
  • Smooth Turning: Max speed has been raised.
  • Level Design Tweaks & Balancing Fixes: For instance, the mission called “The Device” is a little easier now!
  • Fixed an issue where certain terminal commands wouldn't show in touch bars.
  • Fixed an issue where Vive options was shown on Oculus
  • Fixed an issue where Vive alternative options weren't applied

Patch 1.04 now live: Major improvements to keyboard interactions, HMD option added for free locomotion & more!
We are very happy to bring another patch to Apex Construct that greatly enhances the gameplay experience! Major updates include a vast improvement to how you interact with the keyboards in terminals (which has been a strong request from players), an option to use the head direction to control where you go when using free locomotion, the possibility to cycle through different arrow types without having to use the inventory and more.

Full Patch Notes:

  • Improved terminal interactions: No more tedious finger waltzing! It's now possible to interact using a touch bar with commands and/or using the normal menu pointer. Choose your preferred way in the settings menu.
  • Improved free locomotion: It's now possible to use the head direction to control where to go. Choose HMD from the settings menu.
  • Improved battle experience: Changed toggle arrow to cycle arrows meaning it's now possible to cycle all arrows without having to use the inventory.
  • Added comfort options: It's now possible to disable "blinking" when teleporting/rotating.
  • Improved hand interactions: Hand movement when hands are clenched or holding items is much smoother.
  • Bug fix: Fixed potential tech hang when using sliders in the menus.
  • Vive alternative free locomotion schemes are back!

Patch 1.03 now live: Improves Free Locomotion, Teleportation & more!
We are happy to inform you that we have just released patch 1.03 for Apex Construct which greatly improves the way you move around in the game: Whether you use Free Locomotion or Teleportation as your primary way to navigate the shattered world, you will now have a much more seamless experience when playing. The patch also fixes some issues that earlier occurred when your head collided with objects, improves general performance and eliminates a few minor bugs.

Full Patch Notes:

  • Improved Free Locomotion: It should now be much smoother traversing levels without getting stuck.
  • Improved & Updated Teleportation: It is now easier to find spots to teleport to. Also, the last known good teleport position is now kept and used even if players happen to point at a bad spot, making traversing levels much more seamless.
  • Improved Head Collisions: No more fading to black if the player’s head get stuck inside objects, and reduced risk of players getting stuck with their heads inside objects.
  • Major engine version upgrade which resolves a number of crashes and improves performance.
  • Fixed an issue where items brought from the home base into a mission and back would duplicate itself
  • Steam achievements now work for players who bought the game on Steam and play with Oculus headsets
  • Oculus SDK upgraded to 1.30.1

New competitive game mode added: Cygnia Cup Challenge!
Today we have added a new game mode in Apex Construct called Cygnia Cup Challenge, free for all players owning the game.

Cygnia Cup Challenge is a competitive game mode, where players will be transported to a shifted pre-apocalypse arena and take part in a global fight to be the one who rules the leaderboards!

  • Fight in 6 locations in the arena, each with escalating difficulty levels.
  • Take out shooting targets and enemies quickly to keep the combo meter up!
  • Avoid getting shot by Mothr’s attacking bots. If you die, the challenge is over.
  • Use your wits (and your different arrow types...) to reach the highest score.
  • Earn your place on the global leaderboards.
  • Participating in the Cygnia Cup Challenge also earns you RP which you can spend on upgrades or consumables in the campaign.



We plan to run some exciting Cygnia Cup Challenge contests later on, so start honing your bow & arrow skills today and climb that leaderboard:-)
