Arcade Moonlander

Quest and Time Trial leader boards have been added!

Hello everyone :)

I am very happy to announce the new leader boards for Quest and Time Trial modes.

The leader board for Quest mode tracks the highest level the player has beaten, while the leader board for Time Trial tracks the fastest the player was able to complete 10 procedurally generated levels.

I can't wait to see some of the record attempts for these categories :)

Thanks to all the players and good luck with the RNG!

Arcade Moonlander Procedural Update

Hello everyone :)

I am very pleased to announce the third update for Arcade Moonlander is now live!

This update brings the arcade mode level count up to 30, with 10 new hand crafted levels.
There is also a brand new procedural level generator with multiple game modes. The generator is still in beta and work is on going.

Due to player request I have also made changes to the landing mechanics. The landing is now tolerant to higher velocities and steeper angles. Basically landing just got easier :)

I have fixed a lot of UI scaling issues as well as a lot of collision accuracy issues. There have been major performance optimisations and some of the bugs surrounding achievements have been rectified.

Crisis Price Reduction

Hello everyone :)

I recently did an Easter giveaway for Arcade Moonlander and the response has been amazing!

I originally wanted to do a longer giveaway but that is unfortunately not supported. Instead I have decided to do the next best thing and reduce the price of the game as much as I can for at least 3 months.

There is currently an active player community around the game and I would like to do anything I can to support that.

So until at least 31/7/2020, Arcade Moonlander will be on sale for 99c

Have fun and stay safe :)

Arcade Moonlander Giveaway!

Hopefully people get some entertainment out of my game while they are practising social distancing. Stay indoors and stay safe!

Arcade Mode leader board reset.

Hey guys,

With 10 new levels added to arcade mode, the times on the leaderboard are now obsolete.

I have taken a screenshot to reflect the current state of the leader board before I reset it.

I do believe first place by Gumboman is the result of a bug, the Individual Level times just don't seem to add up. If someone can replicate this bug I would be very grateful to hear how :)

Anyway, good luck with the new levels and let's see some new leaders!

Daniel Griffin.

Arcade Moonlander Plus (v2.0)

Hey guys,

It took a little longer than I expected, but I have accomplished more with this update than I originally intended :) I have tried to address all the issues raised on the community hub, but if I have missed something, please let me know.

[v2.0 Changelog]

- 10 new Arcade Levels!!!

- Controller support has been reworked to support many different devices, as well as support for multiple controllers simultaneously and changing controllers at runtime. (I really hope this works as expected)

- Particle effects from the engine and explosion are now more dynamic and able to collide with the scene geometry.

- Fixed the 'Ghost Ship' bug, sorry Krypsys :)

- The first 10 levels of Arcade mode must now be completed in order to unlock the Adventure mode.

- Music now fades in and out, much nicer :)

- Arcade mode can now be restarted from the main menu.

- Updated physics materials on the ship and landing pads to limit ship sliding.

- Out of bounds, 'self destruct' timer was increased from 5 to 7 seconds.

- Changed the way respawning is handled, much cleaner.

- Music at main menu now adheres to the the player's music settings.

- Updated the project for the latest version of unity.

All in all, I am very happy to be releasing this update to the community. Please continue pointing out any problems or suggestions you may have.

There will inevitably be problems with the update, and I really appreciate all your feedback.

Happy moon landing,

Daniel Griffin.

Update in progress!

I'm aiming to have this ready within the next three weeks, and I will keep you all updated if anything changes.

I look forward to sharing this with you all soon :)

Daniel Griffin.

P.S Sneak peek at the first draft of a new level:

Arcade Moonlander Update - v1.6

Hey guys,

Just published an update for the game to fix a few bugs and also to thank a few people in the credits :)

- Best times and final times will now display and save properly offline. Although any score achieved offline will NOT be retroactively posted to the online leader boards when you are next online.

- 3 Achievements removed (temporarily), and an achievement to beat Arcade Mode has been updated to function normally. If you have previously beaten Arcade Mode then this achievement WILL activate retroactively when you next play the game.

- Parallax mountains removed from Adventure Mode :( It is just too complicated to incorporate consistently with the changing respawn position. The good news is the frequent parallax bugs in Arcade Mode should *hopefully* be fixed.

This has just been a small patch, but there is a large content update planned for a few months from now, so any and all suggestions will be taken seriously :)

Thanks for bearing with me everyone and please post any bugs of suggestions you may have to the message boards.

Regards

DG

Removal of three impossible achievements :( + pending Update

Hey guys I'm sorry to say that due to *reasons* I forgot to script any kind of activation method for the three adventure mode achievements.

There was meant to be one for each path, easy, mid and hard but the triggers never made it in.

I have removed them temporarily but will be adding them back once they are achievable.

Thanks to Benjaminste for bringing this to my attention.

I am also about to release an update that fixes the Arcade Mode achievement which was also previously unachievable, as well as some parallax background issues (fingers crossed).

Regards

DG

Thanks to all the players :)

Watching the response from players towards my first product has been a fun and educational experience and I would just like to thank everyone who has taken the time to play Arcade Moonlander.

I am currently working on another project, but I will be releasing an expansion for Arcade Moonlander when I am done. Please contact me If you discover a bug or feel the game could be improved.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing your reviews and scores!
