We just added two all new characters in v1.5 released today: the Totem and the Fairy.
Both of them can be summoned using the Summonner's Book.
- The Totem will shoot deadly magic projectiles to your enemies but its power is limited in time.
- The Fairy will heal you and your allies when needed, and she will also fight your enemies. But keep in mind that she won't survive a huge amount of damage.
They will help you defeat the forces of evil. Use them wisely and... have fun! :-)
Update 1.44 released for Windows and Mac!
We have just released v1.44 for Windows and Mac.
- Just walk over an item to pick it up, it won't be necessary to click on it anymore
- Now a message is shown when the user picks an item instead of a blocking dialog which was very annoying
- Treasure room and treasure village levels are now visible in the level selector as well as in the Wizard's bazaar
- General performance improvements
- Fixed a bug that caused the camera to lose its rotation axis in some unusual situations
- Some translation fixes
- Some characters are now better balanced
- Fixed the wicked door level
- Added a Grimoire of Wind in the Skeleton Wizard level

Update 1.38: Key shortcuts for potions
We've added key shortcuts for potions, so you won't need to click on them during the battle. Just use the 'E', 'R' and 'C' keys.
You won't need to remember the keys. The key shortcut will appear in the right bottom corner of the item's icon. Enjoy! :-)
Keep an eye on this update
We have released update 1.36 which adds the new Demonic Watcher creature. Now you can summon this scary floating eye whenever you want, and let it paralyze your enemies. But beware, don't be around when it shoots its mesmerizing ray or you will also get paralyzed.ːsteammockingː
Update 1.35: Everything under... controls
A lot of people asked us to improve the game controls. We take users feedback very seriously so that's what we've done. ːsteamhappyː
Now the game feels more like a traditional FPS without losing the RPG essence we want on it. The new control scheme will hopefully be much more convenient for moving and shooting without having to hold the right mouse button down.
Update 1.35 is now available for Windows and Mac.
Update 1.34
We have just released an update which fixes some issues and slightly improves the overall graphics quality of the game.
It also adds a volume slider in the settings window, and fixes some spelling errors here and there.
We are now working on other different areas (such as the game controls) and the A.I. of the new floating eye creature which will be soon ready for release.

We are currently working on a new allied creature that will help you in your quest: this scary floating eye.
While we work on it we'd like to ask you which name could we give to this new character. How would you name this... thing? Any suggestions? :D
New downloads section

In this new section we will be publishing maps for the game. We have uploaded all the example maps created for the tutorials so far. New tutorials coming soon :-)

New tutorial: creating ghosts
There are two types of ghosts that can be created with the Arcane Maelstrom map editor: normal ghosts (that can be defeated just by casting spells on them), and the immortal ones (which are protected by a cursed pile of bones that must be destroyed before the player can hurt the ghost).
In this new tutorial you will learn how to create these two types of ghosts in just a few steps, so your own maps can be now creepier than ever ːsteammockingː

New tutorial on creating maps: enemy drops
We have published a new tutorial in the tutorials section of our website where we will teach you how to set enemy drops.

Using enemy drops you can have enemies carrying important objects as keys, scrolls, books or potions that will be dropped when they get killed by the player. This opens a whole world of possibilities for creating your own puzzles and stories in your maps.
Combine enemy drops with custom scrolls and triggers and you will be able to create some really interesting little adventures. Stay tuned for more! ;-)
