Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a few pieces of good news. After gathering feedback about the game I've decided to cut the scope and release Aria into the world a year earlier than planned. My current estimate is Q3 of this year, and the store page has been updated to reflect that. Currently I'm planning for a singular 100-floor dungeon that's divided into 3 distinct parts with their own visuals, enemies, and bosses. There will be 72 unique cards to collect (and 1 special one!), tons of new items to find and use, and some fun new mechanics.
Since the game will be releasing much sooner, I've gone ahead and registered Aria for the upcoming Steam Next Fest beginning on June 19th! You'll be able to play an updated demo of the title during that time.
I hope you'll look forward to it!
The store page has been updated with a new look!
The visuals of Aria and the Crystal Kingdom have been given an update after feedback from the Alpha playtest to give it a brighter and more dynamic look. Some new features have also been highlighted in the trailer, including cooking to improve stats, purchasing card packs from the shop, and a reworked upgrade system that allows up to 3 items from an expanded set to be added to any card.
Hope everyone likes the new look!
24 hours left until the alpha playtest ends!
The alpha playtest will end tomorrow, October 3rd, at 12pm EST. Thank you so much to everyone who tried it out, I hope you all had fun! Your feedback has been invaluable.
So what's next? I'll be taking all of your feedback, improving the game, and adding new content until I've got a Beta to share with you all in another playtest. Anyone who requested access to the alpha playtest will be automatically included, and won't need to sign up again. I hope you'll all look forward to it!
If you'd like to follow the game for more updates, I've got a Twitter now. I'm not great at social media, but you can follow @LunarFableGames for embarrassing attempts at tweeting.
To anyone who played but hasn't had a chance to leave feedback, please feel free to do so in the Playtest Community Hub.
Thank you all again!
Alpha playtest scheduled to begin 9/12/22, sign up today!
A playtest of the Alpha version of Aria and the Crystal Kingdom will be available beginning 12pm EST on 9/12/22 and will end at 12pm EST on 10/3/22. Sign up today by clicking the Request Access button on the store page, and you'll be notified when you're added to the playtest once it begins.
Please feel free to leave feedback, ask questions, and report any bugs you encounter in the Community Hub here on Steam. I'll be monitoring periodically and answering any questions you may have.
Please note: This is a very early Alpha build of the game and is missing key features, final sound and art, and may be buggy. This version features about an hour of gameplay of a shortened version of the first area, of which four more are planned to be added in the future.
Here's a list of features missing from the Alpha but are planned for the future:
Animations for enemies, NPCs, backgrounds, and attacks in battle
UI hover-overs for status effects and abilities
Autosave
Traps in dungeons
Bestiary
Sell items at the shop and break cards down for materials
