Lost Island Transfers On March 18th, we will be enabling full server transfers into Lost Island on our Official Servers across all platforms. Once enabled, players will be able to download items and creatures onto the map without restriction!
Event Cosmetics We know you folks enjoy your event cosmetics so as we enter into our last year of events on ARK 1, we will be adding the associated cosmetics to the Hexagon Exchange once each event ends. Speaking of - we've added the Love Evolved cosmetics to Hexagon Exchange this week! All of the event content will be added to the PC game at the end of the year's cycle of events so they can be opted into for our PC unofficial server owners and players. Our console players will be able to grab all event cosmetics from the Hex store!
An ARK: EVO Event is active on all platforms from now through March 7th, with the following EVO perks: *Note that these bonuses are multiplicative of the game's standard 1x rates.

Let's speak of a time, a time long since passed Scorching Deserts, Caverns and Cities nothing more than distant dreams a time when Rexes were the true Kings of the Ark, a time when a turkey could end all life on the Ark if it so chose.
My name is Jasmine (Jaz for short) and I bought Ark on the very day of its release into early access, I downloaded the game eagerly awaiting whatever came and eventually loaded into spawning on a picturesque beach on the northern half of The Island I stayed on that beach as if it were my lifeline, I hunted dodos and ate berries gathering a few megre levels unlocking the most powerful weapon I'd ever known the sling.
I gathered stone, hours and hours passing amassing hundreds of lil pieces of lifeline, I grew more confident going into the trees to gather material crafting backup slings and gathering more material until I heard footsteps, I ran as fast as I could back to my beach thinking I was safe until it burst from the trees... a level 12 rex.
Most people, sane people would have run but not me, I started firing rocks as fast as I could dodging and weaving as the titanic beast attempted to strike me down, time past slowly the adrenaline keeping me hyper focused, I took a hit my health bar tanking, I panicked but continued firing...
Something changed, the rex began to flee, I chased it toward a river where upon crossing the threshold it slammed to the ground I gathered meat from any source I could and fed the thing, protecting my once enemy as if my life depended on it I gathered narcoberries and tended to the rex for as long as it took before it arose now under my command.
I had become Queen by subjugating the King, My will was now his command, his name was Sven...
And that's how my first tame in Ark: Survival Evolved was a Rex called Sven.

Community Crunch 305: Lost Island Transfers, Map Updates, and More!
Welcome to another edition of the Community Crunch! This week we've made some changes to the Community Corner. In the coming weeks, we'll be turning up the heat with more information and exciting reveals of the upcoming creatures debuting with Fjordur!
Lost Island Transfers - On March 18th, we will be enabling full server transfers into Lost Island on our Official Servers across all platforms. Once enabled, players will be able to download items and creatures onto the map without restriction!
We'll be releasing a patch for PC on March 3rd that will include over 70 fixes across all maps. Map/level changes tend to be quite big and we're expecting this patch to be a significant download so consider this a heads up in advance! We'll endeavor to give size estimations as we near closer to deployment.
We've made some small upgrades to the Community Corner!
We've seen our fair share of great art posted within the community and throughout the years, we've been honored to share that art using the Community Crunch as a platform. Going forward, we're applying a frame to the art we post in the crunch that includes the edition and date.
Additionally, we'll be uploading these to a public community album to show the years of support the community has provided in one easy place. Every image in the album will contain the artist's name and source. If you're creating content for ARK, we want you to know we respect your art and appreciate your contributions to the community! We've created a form for artists to use when they feel their art is misrepresented or posted without credit.
We're also adding a new section to the Community Corner - Community Stories! Recently, we held a competition in our Discord community for reaching 150K members. Members of the community shared their ARK stories for a chance at a prize. Considering we read so many heartfelt and funny stories, we made it a permanent section in the Discord and the Community Corner. So jump over to our Discord to share your own stories!

I downloaded Ark out of boredom, not knowing what I was downloading, I bought all the DLCs and the season pass for Gen. I named my character girl, because it was a test character, so I thought. I have been girl for 2 years now. When Crystal Isles came out I was a solo player. I met an awesome chick and her friend and we started hanging out and helping each other out. They were friends with the charge battery bandits whose tribe leader was Guardian. The server was very active and everyone would cut up with each other. We had a neighbor tribe who built a small town and it had an arena in it where he hosted tribe fights and gave out prizes. It was hilarious. Once servers opened everything calmed down and people started to disappear. My two friends weren't playing anymore. I started hanging out with Guardian. We started a new tribe on Extinction and acquired some awesome tribe mates and we became the Insiders. We became a family. Eventually our family to split up and everyone stopped playing for about 6 weeks. During those 6 weeks I played a lot of Apex Legends. Guardian would play with me. We decided, during our break from Ark, to meet up and go hiking. Then we went hiking again the next day, and the next. This trend continued for a while. He took me to the top of a mountain, up a scary back road to the most beautiful overlook and we watched the sun set. I was so happy, but I was also sad. I found the love of my life, but my Ark family was falling apart. We got back into Ark and made amends with our friends. We did eventually lose the one, but it was for the best. We found new members along the way and now have a thriving Ark family and RL family. It's been a roller coaster of emotions to get here but I wouldn't change it. I have moved to the top of the mountain with Guardian and I am starting a new position in the career of my dreams and have the best support team everyday as we build up on Lost Island waiting on whatever adventure Ark will throw me next.

My best memories are from early legacy PVP, before transfers were open. I was in a tribe on a server that had a "frienemy" relationship with the other 2 large tribes on the server. One tribe had a member that used to come and troll me, just me, whenever I would leave base to do meat or metal runs and it was always hilarious. His favorite thing to do was tranq me off my tame, tea bag till his legs were tired then steal my pants. Then run off with them laughing hysterically in global chat. It got to the point where I stopped wearing pants lol. Then he started tranq'ing me to PUT PANTS BACK ON ME. Those were the days I miss lol. We became friends and are still friends to this day, some 5+ years later

This event can be manually activated with the server arg parameter: -ActiveEvent=vday
For the duration of Love Evolved, we will be disabling the world buffs from Baby Boon & Maewing Poach on Genesis Part 2 on the Official Network. In the past, we've adjusted for the impact event have had on the rates by tweaking the bonuses that we use during the holidays, however, those tweaks lead to unfavorable circumstances on maps that aren't Genesis Part 2, so going forward during breeding events, we'll be disabling these mission buffs specifically as not to affect the bonuses on other maps.

Community Crunch 302: Introducing Desmodus, EVO Event, and More!
Welcome to another edition of the Community Crunch!
This week we are excited to share the concept and dossier for Desmodus, the winner of the second Community Creature Vote! We introduced RCV (Ranked Choice Voting) in the most recent round of community voting and saw Desmodus win (39,781 votes) vs. Carcharodontosaurus (24,419 votes) in the 9th and final round!
In other ARK news, we're starting the weekend off with an EVO event and Love Evolved starts next week. Check out the Love Evolved event details here!
Even with all the other monstrosities around here, this fugitive from a Creature Double Feature deserves top billing. I mean, Dracula's right there in its species name! And Desmodus has a shriek that'll scare just about anything out of its way. It's also shrewd enough to limit itself to victims that it can carry off into the night.
Although I'm not superstitious enough to advise stocking up on garlic and stakes before you decide to track down Desmodus for yourself, I'd still advise you to hunt these horrors out in the light and away from their caves – they seem uniquely adept at flying and hiding in those dark, narrow spaces.
Taming one of these beasties lets you add its eerie abilities to your arsenal. Use their unsettling scream to scatter your enemies. Command Desmodus to snatch up small prey for you. Let its uncanny power to vanish into darkness become your personal stealth mode.
Desmodus has blood thinner in its saliva, which drains prey of more blood than this vampire could ever digest. If you can stomach the excess blood and drained meat your vampire pet leaves behind, you might be open-minded enough to appreciate another of its unholy gifts: a 'sanguine elixir' that helps enthrall the most stubborn beasts.
Desmodus will land on ARK with the upcoming free DLC map, Fjordur!

We hope you enjoyed your Winter Wonderland and had some time to spend with your tribes (in and out of game 🤓). Although we are continuing to focus some development efforts on Lost Island, we want don't want you to lose sight of new content that's to come in 2022!
In addition to 3 new creatures launching in June with Fjordur, we'll also be releasing Carcharodontosaurus as a separate, free update later in 2022!
Let's take a look at the dossiers of 2 new creatures coming to Fjordur and announce the winner of the second Community Creature Vote.
Andrewsarchuses are full of surprises. These ungainly creatures seem sluggish while foraging for a meal, but they can move unexpectedly fast when provoked. Like some other whippomorphs, an Andrewsarchus will aggressively defend its territory against interlopers its size or smaller on sight.
With some distance between you, it might be possible to dodge a charging Andrewsarchus, since they don’t exactly turn on a dime. Just don’t expect a river or lake to protect you from one. If its feet can touch bottom, Andrewsarchus will barely be slowed by deep water.
These scavengers will tear into just about anything if hungry, but they do seem to have a sweet tooth. I've seen Andrewsarchuses pacified by honey and sweet fruit.
Once tamed, Andrewsarchus is a reliably fast beast of burden, as long as you don’t need it to take any corners at full speed. Its density in water also makes it ideal for searching the ocean floors for pearls.
Andrewsarchus is probably most useful for light reconnaissance, once you mount a minigun to the back of its saddle. It can't absorb as much damage as some of the ARKs' larger creatures, but it's great for harassing them.
Some say a gun-saddled Andrewsarchus reminds them of a puma, a walrus, or even a warthog, but I don't see it.
Most of the creatures I’ve encountered here have endured thanks to their great size, strength, or ferocity. But the fjordhawk gets by on its wits and by scavenging. The bird also seems to have an almost preternatural ability to predict and avoid danger. Fjordhawks follow predators (and survivors) from on high, watching for their moment to swoop in and snatch up an easy meal.
Tamed fjordhawks are surprisingly playful, and their favorite game is fetch. Indulge your bird with this play and a bit of patience, and you’ll reap the rewards. Just point out a target, and your fjordhawk will fly off to retrieve it for you. A well-trained fjordhawk can locate injured prey and communicate its find to you.
These clever birds will bond with humans as wholeheartedly as any canine or primate, in a way uniquely suited to this time and place. If you should meet with some grave misfortune, your fjordhawk will immediately fly off with as many of your belongings as it can carry. As soon as you’re respawned by the ARK, your friend will track you down and return your equipment to you!
