TOS-1M Buratino
[p][/p][p]The TOS-1M Buratino is a prototype version of the Russian TOS-1/TOS-1A heavy rocket launcher. It was designed in 1997 at Omsk as an improvement to the old TOS-1 whose roots go back all the way to the Afghan War. T-15 Kinzhal
[p][/p][p]This vehicle is a version of the T-15 heavy IFV (built on the Armata platform) but instead of the Bumerang turret featuring 30mm autocannon, it’s armed with another combat module called Kinzhal. The Kinzhal module’s main armament is long 57mm automatic cannon that can devastate even the heaviest IFVs it could meet on the battlefield. A prototype appeared in 2019 but the concept was not approved for mass production. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][img src="https://armoredwarfare.com/sites/aw.my.com/files/u183517/1920x1080_t-15.jpg"][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the T-15 Kinzhal is a Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer. Unlike the original progression version of the T-15, it’s a vehicle that relies heavily on its autocannon. The 57mm gun is immensely powerful and can fire in three round bursts with one of the highest damage per minute outputs in the game. In addition to its outstanding firepower, the Kinzhal is heavily armored and despite its average mobility, it’s one of the most durable and versatile vehicles in Armored Warfare.[/p][p]This vehicle is available via Loot Crates, which drop T-15 Kinzhal parts. Leclerc T40
[p][/p][p]Sometimes called the French Terminator, this vehicle was designed on the Leclerc MBT chassis with one purpose in mind – to accompany tanks and fight off infantry attacks the same way as the Russian BMPT series does. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][img src="https://armoredwarfare.com/sites/aw.my.com/files/u183517/leclerc_t40_webshop_1920x1080.jpg"][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Leclerc T40 is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It offers you a combination of a durable hull, rapid-fire 40mm automatic cannon and, most importantly, the Javelin missile system. Simply right-click the target, wait until it becomes locket and fire the Javelin ATGM – it will home itself on the target, attacking its weak roof armor. Abrams AGDS
[p][/p][p]The Abrams AGDS (Armored Ground Defense System) was a vehicle concept and proposal, drafted in July 1996 by Dr. Asher H. Sharoni (a former colonel in the Israeli Defense Forces) and Lawrence D. Bacon from a Californian company called Western Design Howden. It was supposed to be an air-defense vehicle, protecting the Abrams formations against flying threats, although its weaponry can be deployed against ground targets as well. The United States were, at the time, sorely lacking a vehicle comparable to the Russian Shilka and one of the ideas was to use the Abrams chassis paired with a new turret to produce an armored AA gun that would be able to keep up with the American tank units. This plan was never realized and the vehicle stayed only on paper but you can play the Abrams AGDS in Armored Warfare and experience what it would have been like, had it ever been deployed.[/p][p][img src="https://armoredwarfare.com/sites/aw.my.com/files/u183517/abrams_agds_webshop_1920x1080.jpg"][TAG-250][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Abrams AGDS is a very unique Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. What makes it so special are its two large guided missile launchers capable of firing an incredibly devastating volley within seconds. The AGDS can devastate practically every opponent on the battlefield with a single salvo, making it one of the best and most effective mid-to-long range vehicles in the game. At close ranges, it can rely on excellent frontal turret protection and its two 35mm autocannons to keep enemies at bay until the missile launcher reloads to unleash another deadly swarm of missiles. Hunter AFV
[p][/p][p]Another alternative name for this vehicle is NGAFV (or Next Gen AFV), since it belongs to a whole program to replace the obsolete M113 APC in Singaporean service and to operate alongside its predecessor, another indigenous Singaporean IFV called Bionix. Hunter is the name of the production model of this program. The Hunter AFV is the pinnacle of bleeding edge of technology. In this sense, it can be compared to the AS21 Redback and both vehicles share several characteristics, not the least of which being relatively large size. This bulky IFV offers considerable levels of protection and firepower. It is expected to serve in the Singaporean army in large numbers in the near future with its mass-production having recently begun. You can read more about its history in our dedicated article.[/p][p][img src="https://armoredwarfare.com/sites/aw.my.com/files/u183517/hunter_afv_webshop_1920x1080.jpg"][TAG-280][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Hunter AFV is a Tier 9 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. As its description above suggests, it is a rather standard-sized IFV with good levels of protection and excellent firepower (consisting of a 30mm autocannon and a Spike ATGM launcher). It also features a recently introduced type of armor, NERA. Simply put, NERA is an ablative armor kit that deteriorates whenever it gets hit. In other words, the vehicle starts with excellent protection levels but it will lose some with damage taken as the battle progresses. Apart from that, the vehicle is adequately mobile and quite universal. BMPT Mod.2017
[p][/p][p]The BMPT Mod.2017 is one specific version of the BMPT Terminator that was deployed in 2017 in Syria for extended testing along with some other Russian prototype equipment, including the SU-57 jet fighter and the Uran-9 combat robot. It consists of a modified T-90 hull with a modernized turret from BMPT-72 installed on it. Another major difference was the presence of a new type of Explosive Reactive Armor that was made of soft fabric bags with explosive filler. Like the others, it combines a tank hull with an unmanned turret, armed with two 30mm cannons as well as four missile launchers. [p][/p][p]The Altay is the result of a Turkish program to build a true indigenous MBT. After a decade of development with hundreds of millions of dollars spent, Turkey finally achieved its goal and built a tank that is roughly on par in performance with decades-old Leopard 2 variants while it still uses many foreign components, including some of its most critical systems. Nevertheless, future Altay variants are expected to feature some cutting edge components.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Altay is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank based on the current prototypes, but also upgraded by various hypothetical aftermarket components of the future to surpass its current capabilities and to match its assigned Tier in power. The basic tank is – gameplay-wise – a mobile sniper, much like the Leopard 2 series, relying on its mobility and the penetration of its shells rather than on its armor. There are two key features to this tank: Adjustable Suspension (tilting forward and to the side) and Hybrid Engine with its distinctive electric sound, giving the vehicle excellent mobility and agility.[/p][p]The Altay Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. [p][/p][p]The Type 10 MBT is the most modern Japanese Main Battle Tank in service and one of the most advanced war machines in the world. Using sophisticated electronics and crystalline steel armor, this tank is more than a match for any enemy that would threaten the islands of Japan. Additionally, this MBT features a special system that tells you the exact chance to penetrate your target. [p][/p][p]The Enhanced Main Battle Tank (EMBT) is a future MBT demonstrator developed over the course of several years as cooperation between the Germany (KMW) and the French (Nexter). It features a heavily modified Leopard 2 hull with a brand-new turret unveiled in 2022 during the Eurosatory 2022 expo in Paris. Our version of the tank is armed with 140mm ASCALON gun. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][img src="https://armoredwarfare.com/sites/aw.my.com/files/u183517/embt_1920x1080.jpeg"][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the EMBT is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. Extreme accuracy and firepower are its domain as it features an incredibly powerful 140mm gun and a special ability called Machine Learning that increases the kinetic round penetration with each shot (up to three times). In its medium range support vehicle role, this tank has few equals thanks to the abovementioned ability and the availability of top-attack HEAT rounds.[/p][p]The EMBT Tier 10 Premium MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Panzer 87-140
[p][/p][p]The Panzer 87-140 is an experimental version of Panzer 87 (Swiss Leopard 2A4), fitted with a RUAG 140mm smoothbore cannon and an armor kit called WE. It was developed in the 1980s and early 1990s to counter the next generation of Soviet MBTs, but with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the project was shelved, only to resurface around 2005-2006 but never passing the experimental stage. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.[/p][p][img src="https://armoredwarfare.com/sites/aw.my.com/files/u183517/1920x1080_8_1.jpg"][/p][p]In Armored Warfare, the Panzer 87-140 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. Much like other Leopard series MBTs, it’s a long-range fighter with an extremely powerful gun and the ability to fire with pinpoint accuracy. [p]Commanders![/p][p]As you already know, the Rough Riders Battle Path is coming in July and the main topic of it will be the history of armored cavalry – or, in game terms, Light Tanks. Upon reviewing the performance of the entire class, we discovered that while some of them are performing adequately or even very well (MPF comes to mind), some others are in serious need of improvements. Today, we’ll tell you more about them.[/p][p][img src="https://armoredwarfare.com/sites/aw.my.com/files/u183517/0.19main_img_4.jpg"][TAG-10][/p][p]At this moment, we are working on the following changes:[/p]
[p]Tier 1 PT-85: Improved HEAT damage and penetration (440mm, 310 damage) and reduced reload time from 4.68s to 4s[/p]
[p]Tier 2 T92 (and T92 ACAV): Improved camouflage from 25% to 30% and reduced reload time from 3 to 2.6s[/p]
[p]Tier 3 Scorpion: Improved camouflage from 25% to 30%[/p]
[p]Tier 4 Scorpion 90: Improved camouflage from 25% to 30%, viewrange increased from 340m to 440m, improved AP shell damage and penetration (550mm, 290 damage), improved AP shell damage and penetration (605mm, 390 damage)[/p]
[p]Please note that the Scorpion 90 shell adjustments will also be made to LAV-300 as it uses the same shells. Let’s continue:[/p]
[p]Tier 5 M551 Sheridan: Increased its mobility by improving acceleration (2.8s and 11s respectively) and hull traverse (63 deg/s)[/p]
[p]Begleitpanzer 57 is performing very well for its Tier and does not need any buffs.[/p]
[p]Tier 6 RDF/LT: The gun is manually loaded on this model so the vehicle will receive a loader.[/p]
[p]In fact, the RDF/LT (which is obtainable as a prize from the Rough Riders Battle Path) is received a larger number of buffs, so let’s take a closer look at thus vehicle. The following changes will be taking place:[/p]
[p]Improved camouflage from 25% to 30%[/p]
[p]M464 AP shell penetration increased from 550mm to 575mm[/p]
[p]M464 AP shell damage increased from 260 to 290[/p]
[p]T70E3 HESH shell damage increased from 230 to 260[/p]
[p]0 to 32 km/h acceleration improved to 1.65s[/p]
[p]0 to max acceleration improved to 11s[/p]
[p]Maximum speed increased to 90 km/h[/p]
[p]Maximum reverse increased to 40 km/h[/p]
[p]Hull traverse rate increased to 77.49 deg/s[/p]
[p]Moving on to other Tier 6 Light Tanks:[/p]
[p]Tier 6 Expeditionary Tank: Viewrange increased from 410m to 420m[/p]
[p]Tier 6 Stingray 1: Reload time within magazine improved from 3 to 2.7s[/p]
[p]Tier 6 VFM 5: Vehicle now has a 7-round magazine with 2.7s between shots within and 20s full magazine reload (partial reload is possible), we have also gave the vehicle a new HE shell with 55mm of penetration and 690 damage[/p]
[p]On Tier 7, CV90105 TML requires no buffs as it is performing fairly well. The same can be said of Stingray 2, therefore:[/p]
[p]Tier 7 TAM 2IP: Increased hitpoints from 2200 to 2400, improved camouflage from 25% to 30%, improved viewrange from 430m to 440m and improved acceleration (3.53s and 15.39s respectively)[/p]
[p]Coming up on Tier 8, most Light Tanks perform fairly well. Harimau, Griffin 120mm and Leopard Cockerill do not need any improvements. Did we mention we’d be adding Griffin 120mm to the Rough Riders prize pool? Because we will, but more on that later. For now, there are three tanks that need to be addressed here. First is the ASCOD:[/p][p]This vehicle has two turrets – a manned one and an unmanned one.[/p]
[p]We removed the Ready Rack mechanism from the manned one and set the regular reload time to 3.5s[/p]
[p]The unmanned turret reload time within its magazine was improved from 4s to 2s[/p]
[p]And now, the bigger stuff. Dragun 125 is getting a larger set of changes, including:[/p]
[p]Improved camouflage from 20% to 25%[/p]
[p]Maximum speed increased to 75 km/h[/p]
[p]Reload time improvement from 5.14s to 4.9s[/p]
[p]Viewrange improvement from 430m to 440m[/p]
[p]Vehicle received a new Invar-M tandem HEAT ATGM with 1050mm of penetration and 770 damage[/p]
[p]Vehicle received a new 3UBK14F1 thermobaric ATGM with 80mm of penetration and 1000 damage[/p]
[p]And M8-105 Buford is receiving the following changes:[/p]
[p]Reload time improvement from 3.74s to 3.5s[/p]
[p]Increased hitpoints from 2500 to 2750[/p]
[p]Viewrange improvement from 430m to 450m[/p]
[p]HEAT round M152/6 now offers 810mm penetration and 610 damage[/p]
[p]Added a new transmission module adding 2.5% bonus to acceleration 10% bonus to hull traverse[/p]
[p]On Tier 9, CV90120T Ghost is performing well enough, as are ZTQ-15 and Anders. Remaining are the VT-5 and M8-120 Thunderbolt II. The VT-5 is receiving the following changes:[/p]
[p]Increased the BTA2 APFSDS shell penetration to 740mm (ZTL-11 uses similar shell, there it is increased to 800mm)[/p]
[p]Added a new HE shell, DTB2 from ZTL-11[/p]
[p]Increased the amount of ammo carried from 54 to 66[/p]
[p]Increased the amount of APS charges to 12[/p]
[p]The M8-120 Thunderbolt (and its Hades version) is receiving the following changes:[/p]
[p]0 to 32 km/h acceleration improved from 3.93s to 3.5s[/p]
[p]0 to max acceleration improved to 17s[/p]
[p]Increased hitpoints from 2650 to 2800[/p]
[p]Reload time improvement from 4.21s to 4s[/p]
[p]Viewrange improvement from 430m to 440m[/p]
[p]And, last but not least, there’s the highest Tier. On Tier 10 there are only three Light Tanks (as of now) and two of the three perform really well – especially the MPF. The K21 XC-8 is getting the following buffs:[/p]
[p]Increased hitpoints from 2650 to 2900[/p]
[p]Reload time improvement from 3.53s to 2.7s[/p]
[p]Increased the amount of APS charges to 8[/p]
[p]And that’s it. There are several more buffs we are working on, but those are not related directly to Light Tanks. From American vehicles, the T249 Vigilante will receive a different Gatling gun mechanic (similar to the M48 GAU-8) along with a shell penetration buff, some improvements to Shilka (mostly penetration) and VCAC Mephisto (increasing the amount of missiles carried and some reload times), all based on your feedback.[/p][p]We hope that you’ll enjoy the changes and, as always:[/p][p]See you on the battlefield![/p]
