TOS-1M Buratino
The TOS-1M Buratino is a prototype version of the Russian TOS-1/TOS-1A heavy rocket launcher. It was designed in 1997 at Omsk as an improvement to the old TOS-1 whose roots go back all the way to the Afghan War. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the TOS-1M Buratino is a Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer. As befits its massive rocket launcher installed on the top of a T-90A MBT chassis, its firepower is all but unparalleled and you are looking at perhaps the most destructive vehicle of Armored Warfare. It is available in two configurations – with fast-launching 122mm rockets and the iconic 220mm rockets that can be unlocked either by installing a skin (Koshmar), or by progressing through an active Battle Path.
The TOS-1M is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
Koshmar Bundle

Kurganets-25
The Kurganets-25 Infantry Fighting Vehicle is intended as a cutting edge future replacement to the old BMP series in Russian service. While not as chunky and expensive as the T-15 Armata super-heavy IFV, it’s designed to finally offer the 21st century protection levels the Russian military has been demanding for a long time. However, the design turned out to be quite expensive and while it is currently undergoing state trials, it is unlikely to be ever mass-produced. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Kurganets-25 is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. Even though it offers decent protection and mobility for its class, this vehicle is all about firepower. To make sure you always have the right tool for the job, it comes with three distinctive weapon systems – a 57mm autocannon for light targets, fast and small Bulat missiles for highly mobile targets and, finally, full-sized ATGMs that can defeat pretty much anything on the battlefield. If dealing damage is your thing, few vehicles will match your playstyle better.

Msta-S
The Msta-S SPG was developed as a replacement to the older 2S3 Akatsiya. The goal was to match (or surpass) the newly developed NATO artillery pieces with long 155mm guns. The production began in 1988 and is currently ongoing with a modernized variant rolling out for the Russian military. More than 500 Msta-S SPGs are still in Russian service and dozens were exported to several other countries. It has seen some combat during the Second Chechen War and the War in Donbass. In Armored Warfare, the Msta-S is a Tier 9 Self-Propelled Gun, which makes it only usable in the Global Operations mode and in PvE. It comes with two shell types – a slow-flying one with a high flight arc, and a fast-flying one for use against more mobile targets.

Khrizantema-S
The Khrizantema-S is a dedicated tank hunter, built on a modified BMP-3 hull. The first Khrizantema-S prototype appeared in public as early as 1996 with the initial production variant (9P157) entering service in 2005. Around 2010, an upgraded variant called 9P157-2 appeared with a modernized Ukrainian optics system and a hull machinegun the original model lacked. This variant was in use until 2017. In Armored Warfare, the Khizantema-S is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer. It is quite a stealthy vehicle armed with a twin ATGM launcher. The key to achieving excellent results with this machine is long-range ATGM sniping followed by rapid relocation. The missiles are quite powerful and make hits easy thanks to their excellent performance.

Gadyuka
The Gadyuka (“Viper”) is a Soviet-era fire support vehicle consisting of a T-72A hull and turret but instead of the main gun, the vehicle is armed with two 30mm autocannons and two rocket pods in order to perform better against infantry in urban and mountainous environments. A single prototype was built in 1996 and even though the project was cancelled, it eventually led to the rise of the BMPT Terminator series. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Gadyuka is a Tier 6 Premium Tank Destroyer. Despite having only average protection, its two 30mm autocannons can, along with deadly rocket salvos, rip through enemy vehicles with ease. Indeed, the Gadyuka is one of the most destructive vehicles of its Tier and a worthy addition to every player’s arsenal.

The Shockwave Update is now available!
As announced earlier, the Shockwave update (Update 0.235) is now available in Armored Warfare.
Here’s what it’s bringing.
Shockwave Mode
The Shockwave mode is an endgame survival mode for advanced players in which a team of five fights of waves of ever-increasing difficulty. The longer you survive, the higher the rewards. Do you have what it takes to become the best team in Armored Warfare? Because that’s pretty much what’s at stake here – this is the endgame mode of Armored Warfare.
The mode is available during all hours for both platoons and solo players who can join the queue to be matched with others. This mode is initially available for one month only (“Season 0” launch) and will therefore temporarily go away somewhere along the launch of the upcoming Seahawks Battle Path which is planned for November.
You can enter Shockwave battles by using the dedicated panel in the PvE UI.
As for the mode details:
- This mode is available for Tier 10 vehicles only (no vehicles are excluded)
- There is no time limit per match, you need to hold on for as long as you can
- There are no respawns but you can use your consumables to repair
- Enemy vehicles spawn in waves and each wave arrives from one of several different directions (the types of enemies and directions are randomized so no two matches will be identical)
- Enemy vehicle wrecks despawn immediately upon destruction and therefore cannot be used for cover
- New enemy types appear in this mode (vehicles that cannot be seen in any other mission)
- Ammunition replenishes automatically (periodically, with a sound indicator)
Please do be also aware of the following:
- You currently cannot complete contracts or Battle Path missions in this mode
- Some performance and bot behavior issues do exist and we are aware of them
The launch of the mode is accompanied by the Shockwave Event where you can earn exclusive Season 0 rewards (including camouflages, Gold and an animated avatar) by playing the Shockwave mode every day and destroying enemies.
Shockwave Prizes
Pipelines Map Overhaul
We have overhauled the visuals of the Pipelines PvP map to improve the graphics of Armored Warfare. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
Dynamic Decals
The in-game decals can now be moved, rotated (by holding Alt and scrolling your mouse wheel) and their size can be changed (by holding Shift and scrolling your mouse wheel).

Please note that the system still has some limitations:
- This system only applies to decals, not to battalion emblems
- There still are just two decals per vehicle
- Decals cannot be placed on ERA or other additional armor plates, they will always appear on the base hull of the vehicle

The T-72 series and several other vehicles are getting new engine sounds as the first step in the announced sound overhaul. You can hear a demonstration of the sound in the following video:

PELE Overhaul
In this update, we are overhauling all PELE shells to use a modified HESH mechanism. What it means is that these shells will be very useful against sloped surfaces and thinly armored targets, dealing tremendous damage in situations where regular AP shells would not be as useful. The vast majority of PELE shells belong to autocannons and will therefore serve either as an upgrade or an alternative shell to the already existing ones. Regarding the full caliber PELE shells:
- Wilk’s PELE shells will become considerably more powerful
- Arjun already has HESH rounds and PELE (PCB) shells will serve simply as an upgrade to them

Friendly Fire Adjustments
We have had situations before where players would be kicked out of the match for inadvertently dealing friendly fire damage to their teammates. This most notably affected artillery (dealing damage with large caliber HE blast wave) and ammo rack explosions (which count as “your” damage when an enemy tank explodes but the blast wave from the explosion deals damage to a friendly target).
In this update, dealing damage to friendlies will no longer kick you from the match but will simply result in your ability to deal damage to friendlies being disabled. Your vehicle will be marked blue and dealing damage to it will not result in any punishment.
Other Changes
New Crew and Commander Upgrades
We are adding the sixth crew training level to the game. Alongside it you will be able to choose a third skill from those already available. Additionally, it’s now possible to easier unlock Commander levels with a single button by purchasing the required XP.
- New player accounts are now receiving 2-day version of the Armata 152 MBT
- Starter pack for new players can now be bought and activated correctly
- Fixed the requirement for the Death to the Enemy Battle Path mission
- Retrofits no longer get removed from the vehicle when clicking and dragging them to a different slot in the Garage
- Fixed the mobility model for the entire T-series of the vehicle (aside from T-80) so that they no longer have difficulties traversing ditches and slopes
- Fixed the track visual model for the entire Abrams series of vehicles
- AS90: Fixed the missing gun part on low graphics settings
- AS90: Fixed the armor’s material to a correct one
- CV90120T Ghost: Fixed an issue where the hard-kill APS worked with a limited angle (now it destroys missiles all around the vehicle)
- BMP-2M: Double ATGM launch module now correctly only works for the Kornet ATGMs (and not Atakas)
- BMP-2M: Fixed the grenade launcher sound
- BMP-2M: Fixed the empty shell case visual model
- EMBT: Fixed a small unintended weakspot on the bottom of the hull
- EMBT: Small visual fixes of the vehicle’s destroyed model
- Challenger 2 Streetfighter II: Fixed the flying flag pole
- M1A2C: Fixed the SEP v3 PL textures and camouflage
- M60A2 Starship: Fixed the drive sprocket texture
- Puma: Fixed the incorrect dirt appearance on the hull
- Puma: Fixed numerous visual issues on the Panzergrenadier skin
- T-62M: Fixed the low visual settings inscription on the Rusalka skin
- T-64BV Mod.2017: Fixed the turret ERA appearance
- T-72M2 Wilk: Fixed the destroyed ERA not attached to the vehicle
- T-80BVM: Improved the gun depression from -5 to -7
- T-80BVM: Turret machinegun now has a belt visual model
- T-80BVM: Fixed the gun mantlet tarp texture
- T-80BVM: Fixed several low resolution textures on the hull and numerous other smaller issues of the model
- T-80BVM: Fixed the incorrect dirt appearance on the hull
- T-80BVM: Tracks no longer sometimes clip through the mudguards
- T-90A: Fixed the broken ERA models
- T-90A: Fixed the broken ERA model on the T-90SA skin
- T-90M Proryv: Added a spaced armor layer behind the Relikt ERA (this improves the vehicle’s side protection)
- T-90M Proryv: Shells no longer fly through destroyed APS and optics models
- T-90M Proryv: Fixed the excessive hull dirt
- VBR: Fixed an issue where missiles were flying through closed covers of the launcher
- Rate of Decay Special Operation: Fixed the indestructible poles at C2

ZTZ-20
The ZTZ-20 is a fictional Chinese Main Battle Tank for the 21st century. It combines western influences with some ideas taken from the T-14 Armata. You can read about its (real and fictional) history in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the ZTZ-20 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. On its own, it’s a beast of a machine and one of the most powerful vehicles in the game, featuring both a powerful gun and thick armor. It does have a special feature though – its missiles can cover a wide area with burning White Phosphorus that reduces enemy vehicle camouflage and deals damage to anyone entering the zone.
The ZTZ-20 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
VT-5
The VT-5 is a modern Chinese Light Tank that was developed specifically with export in mind. There are many reasons why a country without its own tank development should opt to purchase a Light Tank instead of a full-scale Main Battle Tank. It’s equally as fast if not faster with equal firepower but, what is most important, it is affordable. The VT-5 excels in all these categories. While its armor cannot match that of an MBT, it can protect its crew against most infantry threats thanks to its ERA and cage armor sets. It also has a powerful 105mm gun capable of firing guided missiles, it is packed with advanced electronics and is supremely agile thanks to its 1000hp diesel engine. Simply put, wraps cutting edge technologies up into an affordable bundle. You can learn more about it in a dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the VT-5 is a very powerful Tier 9 Premium Light Tank. Fast and agile, it features solid levels of protection (the configuration in the game is the one featuring the ERA kit as well as the turret cage armor) and a good rate of fire. Additionally, its gun is capable of firing guided missiles. It’s an ideal machine for players who value speed and agility, as it offers plenty of both. The VT-5 is capable of dancing around its opponents on the battlefield, outperforming even some AFVs in mobility.

QN-506
The QN-506 fire support vehicle is a Chinese attempt to design a cheap, export-oriented alternative to the Russian BMPT series. Instead of converting a second or third generation MBT, the engineers at Wuhan Guide Infrared Co., Ltd., likely to keep the vehicle as affordable as possible, opted to base their project on the Type 59 MBT, which is, in its basic form anyway, a copy of the old Soviet T-55 medium tank from the late 1950s. They jam-packed it with cutting edge electronics and a number of weapon systems, including ATGMs, an automatic cannon or smaller caliber rockets. However, despite the use of an unmanned turret, the protection levels of this vehicle are still quite low and, so far, there haven’t been any signs of interest in the QN-506. In Armored Warfare, the QN-506 is a Premium Tier 9 Tank Destroyer that gameplay-wise resembles the popular BMPT series. However, unlike the Russian Terminators, it has a number of interesting features including tree different weapon systems (30mm cannon, 70mm unguided rockets and 151mm ATGMs) and loitering recon ammunition flying towards the end of a map and spotting everything in its path. The last ability is unique to the QN-506 and makes it one of the most potent support vehicles on the battlefield.

Type 96B
The Type 96B MBT, as its name suggests, is an evolution of the Type 96A, featuring such elements as an upgraded fire control system and a much more powerful engine, resulting in considerably better mobility and speed. Unlike the Type 96A, however, the Type 96B is a prototype, designed for the Chinese military team to use during the annual Tank Biathlon event in Russia.
