Today, we’d like to officially unveil the first of the upcoming progression vehicles, the Russian T-80UM-1 Bars MBT!
As usual, let’s have a bit of history first. The T-80UM-1 Bars (“Snow Leopard” in Russian) starts roughly where the T-80U left off. The T-80U was a highly advanced MBT for its time (the 1980s) that nonetheless had one major flaw – its cost, which would become ever more significant with the decline of the Soviet Union. Especially the turbine engine was very complex and therefore pricey. Its advantage was, however, that it could run well in cold weather, which is why Russia kept using the T-80 series in its arctic regions.
The T-80 series was also produced in Ukraine where the expensive turbine engine was replaced by a diesel. For Russia, however, this wasn’t really an option due to the abovementioned low temperature properties. Instead, the T-80U received a more powerful turbine engine (GTD-1250) in the 1980s and that was it. Further T-80U development went nowhere apart from several prototypes – and the T-80UM-1 was one of them. A small intermission regarding its name – some sources use different variants of its designation (T-80UM1 or T-80U-M1), we’ll be going with the one most common in reputable Russian sources.
Aside from the Leningrad (today Saint Petersburg) Kirov plant, the T-80U was also mass-produced in Omsk by the Omsktransmash plant. It was there the Bars was developed and built with the prototype being shown to public during the VTTV-97 expo also taking place in Omsk in 1997. It’s worth noting that this expo was the same one where the Black Eagle prototype originally appeared.
The Black Eagle overshadowed the T-80UM-1 Bars but the latter was a far more practical and cheaper to produce vehicle. According to some sources, the T-80UM-1 was not only undergoing military trials at that point, but was also almost ready for mass-production.
The main idea behind the T-80UM-1 project was to improve the protection of the crew and ammo stowage based on the Chechnya War experience, specifically the 1994 Battle of Grozny in which the T-80 series tanks proved very vulnerable in urban combat. The most visible Bars upgrade was therefore the addition of the Arena hard-kill APS as well as an upgraded ERA kit that was supposed to protect the vehicle against RPG attacks. In addition to that, the tank received the Shtora-1 soft-kill APS as well as an improved fire extinguisher system and NBC kit. It was estimated at that time that the protection levels with all these changes would be three times higher than those of an earlier T-80U.
To upgrade the mobility of the tank, the transmission was also changed – from a standard mechanical one to a hydrostatic one called GOP-165. In combination with the upgraded 1250hp turbine, this improved the average speed of the tank by roughly 10 to 30 percent (depending on the surface type). The transmission also reduced the tank’s fuel consumption (by roughly 10 percent) and reduced the drivetrain strain. And last but not least, the tank could be operated just with a steering wheel and two pedals with the need to switch gears gone. An upgraded GTD-1400 engine was also in development with the ability to temporarily increase its power output to 1400hp. However, it was never built.
Armament-wise, the tank received a new, upgraded version of the 125mm 2A46M gun, the 2A46M-4 with an improved barrel, increasing the accuracy by roughly 20 percent thanks to the reduction of its vibrations. Along with it came a new 1A45 Irtysh fire control system with a laser rangefinder, ballistic computer, and a suite of sensors (including the DBE-BS weather sensor). The Agava gunner optics was fitted with a thermal imager. The gun could still fire 7 to 9 rounds per minute from its 28-round carousel and had the ability to launch the 9M119 Refleks missiles.
The rest of the tank stayed mostly the same, allowing for potentially fast overhauls of existing machines. The only part that required more work was the new transmission installation. Nevertheless, the project came at a very difficult time for the by-then critically underfunded Russian military for whom the Bars was intended. The 1990s were not a good time for new projects and the Omsk plant was, by that time, also in deep financial trouble. The tank therefore remained a single prototype only.
In Armored Warfare, the T-80UM-1 will be a Tier 8 Main Battle Tank.
The tank will be possible to unlock from the Tier 7 T-80U MBT of Marat Shishkin’s MBT branch.
As you could have guessed from the history section of the article, the tank will be somewhat similar gameplay-wise to its T-80U predecessor. The basic armor will remain roughly the same but the tank will feature two APS systems:
Arena hard-kill APS
Shtora-1 soft-kill APS
The tank will also retain the predecessor’s solid firepower and will be able to use the more advanced 3VBM33 Svinets-2 APFSDS round (along with the HEAT and HE rounds as well as the Invar guided missile). We’re still considering additional ammunition such as programmable HE (3VOF77 Namestnik-1) and thermobaric gun-launched missiles (3UBK14F1). The mobility will also be excellent thanks to a new 1400hp engine (available as an upgrade), pushing the power-to-weight ratio to 30 hp/t.
The introduction of this vehicle is still planned for the summer of 2023 and will be followed by the next vehicle in line, the T-80BVM, further down the line. We hope that you’ll enjoy the T-80UM-1 Bars and, as always:
See you on the battlefield!

Namer
The Namer IFV is an Israeli heavy fighting vehicle version of the Namer platform developed in the early 2000s from the Merkava Main Battle Tank. Israel is a small country and cannot affect high infantry losses, which is why the Namer features extremely high levels of protection. The IFV variant is fitted with a Rafael turret, featuring 30mm autocannon and a Spike missile launcher. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Namer is a Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer. As its history suggests, it is a superheavy TD with its protection levels being amongst the highest of its class. It is slow and ponderous but its thick front can deflect even advanced shells while maintaining adequate firepower thanks to its autocannon and ATGM combination. Its MBT-like characteristics make this vehicle quite forgiving for new players, but, as they say, a jack-of-all-trades is a master of none.
The Namer Tier 10 Premium TD is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
M60T skin for Sabra
This skin for the Sabra Mk.2 Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank is based on the Sabra MBTs that participated in the Turkish incursion into Syria in October 2019 (Operation Peace Spring). It combines a number of real-life elements, turning your Sabra into a Turkish service MBT. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
The skin is available either as a standalone item or as a part of the M60T bundle, which contains the following items:
M60T skin for the Sabra Mk.2 MBT
Sabra Mk.2 Tier 7 Premium MBT
500 Gold
That way, you can get this amazing vehicle together with the skin. Alternatively, the Sabra is also available in other bundles without the skin.

Merkava Mk.2D and Israeli Bundle
The Merkava IID (also known as Mk.2D) is an advanced version of the standard Mk.2 Merkava, upgraded with a modular “Dor-Dalet” composite armor kit. It’s a tough and unyielding vehicle, featuring a number of battle-proven components such as its 105mm rifled cannon. The first version of the Merkava Mk.2 entered service in 1983 and the last vehicles were phased out in 2016 after thirty long years.
In Armored Warfare, the Merkava IID is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. It is not equipped with an explosive reactive armor kit, but is, nevertheless, a very tough customer due to the introduction of the applique armor, allowing it to take a lot of damage. Additionally, the tank is equipped with a Ready Rack mechanism, significantly increasing the rate of fire for the first four shots.
This vehicle is also available as a part of the Israeli bundle, which contains the following items:
Merkava Mk.2D Tier 7 Premium MBT
Sinai Grey base paint
Israeli Experimental camouflage
Israeli Flag decal (free bonus)
Israeli Flag banner (free bonus)
The Sinai Grey base paint is based on the color commonly used by the Israeli vehicles. You can now apply it to all your Merkava MBTs for maximum realism. The camouflage, on the other hand, is an experimental one and not used in active service. It was developed in the 1980s for a series of trials, but Israel ultimately decided not to adopt it. Still, it’s a piece of history and will fit your Merkava Mk.2 MBT really well. You can read more about both in our dedicated article.
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
Syrian Bundle
This gorgeous Syrian camouflage was seen in the aftermath of the 1973 Yom Kippur War on a captured Syrian BMP-1 IFV and consists of sand, green and grey stripes. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
It is available as a part of the Syrian Camouflage bundle, which contains the following items:
Syrian camouflage
14 days of Premium Time
2.000 Gold
Syrian Flag decal (free bonus)
Syrian Flag banner (free bonus)
This camouflage can be installed on any vehicle that has the camouflage customization feature available and can be used in all three environments.
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
Magach 7A
The Magach 7A is an early M60 series American tank, upgraded by the Israelis to meet the requirements of the 1990s battlefield, especially to combat the threat of anti-tank guided missiles that had started to find their way into the hands of various terrorist groups in the late 1980s. The most distinctive upgrade is its box-shaped extra turret armor. While well-protected, the tank was quite lethargic when it came to its mobility due to the use of its old engine, a shortcoming that was only corrected in the final evolution step of the Magach series, the Magach 7C. You can read more about it in a dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Magach 7A is a Tier 6 Premium Main Battle Tank. With its excellent gun accuracy and aiming time values, the Magach 7A is a good sniper for its class and is perfectly suitable for those players, who want to experience long-range combat but who also want to keep some level of protection and survivability instead of completely relying on mobility and camouflage. It’s a rather sluggish vehicle, but more than a match for anything that it encounters on the battlefield.
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
Sabre
The Sabre is an interesting British recon vehicle, assembled together from older Scorpion hulls and Fox turrets after both parts were brought to zero hour state (completely overhauled) by a company called Alvis. The resulting vehicle from the early 1990s was called Sabre and, considering it was made of decades old components, it worked fairly well as a scouting vehicle, participating in the Iraq War as well as in several peacekeeping missions. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Tier 6 Sabre Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle is one of the deadliest vehicles on the battlefield thanks to its rather unique upward-aimed Swingfire missile launcher that allows it to fire over obstacles or while hidden, for example behind uneven terrain. While being quite difficult to master, this ability makes it a potent ambusher, especially in skilled hands.
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
Challenger 1 Falcon
The Falcon is an experimental turret developed in the early 2000s in Jordan as an upgrade to the Jordanian Al-Hussein (Challenger 1) Main Battle Tanks. It's a low profile turret, armed with an automatically loaded Swiss 120mm L/50 RUAG smoothbore gun, capable of firing standard NATO ammunition. The operator controls the turret from inside the vehicle's hull, significantly improving crew protection. A prototype was built and tested, but the design was never mass-produced.
In Armored Warfare, the Challenger 1 Falcon is a Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank. The best word to characterize this lumbering behemoth in the game is “tough” – its excellent hull armor shrugs off most shells while the damage its low profile turret takes when it is reduced by 90% thanks to the fact the crew is not located directly in it. Despite being generally very slow and sluggish, the Challenger 1 Falcon can take tremendous punishment and is ideal for the players who prefer the British Main Battle Tank play style.

In Development: AbramsX
Commanders!
Today we’d like to tell you more about an upcoming American Premium MBT, the AbramsX.
AbramsX is not as much an actual prototype as it is a demonstrator, a “what if” vehicle (just like the Griffin 120mm Light Tank that preceded the MPF was) showing various technologies that could be used to improve the performance of the now four decades old Abrams.
Not that the U.S. Army is using four decades old tanks per se – the Abrams MBTs in service were all refurbished during their respective upgrades. The oldest service Abrams variant is National Guard’s M1A1 SA (due to be phased out in 2025), the M1A2 SEP v2, and the most recent SEP v3 variant (renamed to M1A2C a couple of years ago). The last one is still in the process of being adopted, the first Abrams Brigade Combat Team was only fully rearmed to this variant in the September of 2022.
And last but not least, yet another upgrade variant called M1A2D (SEP v4) is currently in development (since 2018) and it is scheduled to appear around 2024-2025. The SEP v4 variant is all about FCS upgrades with a new third generation thermal imager available to both the gunner and the commander along with other upgraded sensors. The Abrams is also scheduled to receive an upgrade in the form of the Trophy APS – 336 sets were purchased around 2020 with roughly 200 more to be delivered.
That’s the military procurement side of things, anyway. But there’s also the private sector – or rather the private initiatives of various companies and that’s where AbramsX by General Dynamics Land Systems MBT comes in. The main idea behind this demonstrator is maintaining or improving the current Abrams protection levels while reducing the vehicle’s weight. In the recent years, MBTs in general have grown in weight to effectively unsustainable levels due to the never-ceasing battle between weapons and armor. A 70-ton MBT is simply too heavy to be practical. The protection question requires different answers and AbramsX might just offer some of them.
The AbramsX MBT therefore offers reduced weight – not only thanks to the adoption of new materials, but also its overhauled layout. Instead of a manned turret (such turrets are generally considerably heavier than unmanned ones), the vehicle is fitted with an unmanned combat module and the entire crew – reduced to three men – sits in the front in an armored capsule. This of course means its gun is automatically loaded from a bustle-mounted ammo rack.
The tank is powered by a hybrid variant of the Cummins ACE diesel engine producing estimated 1500 to 2000 horsepower, paired with a SAPA ACT transmission. This way the vehicle can (for a short while) switch to a fully electric drive, which can be an advantage as the electric engines are very quiet and accelerate extremely well. The tracks are also new – the DST (formerly Diehl) 570P3 variant is roughly 30 percent lighter than the currently used Abrams tracks.
The turret is armed with a lightweight 120mm XM360 gun, similar in performance to the M256. It is, however, considerably lighter (3 tons of the M256 against 1.8 tons of the XM360) and produces 30 percent less recoil. It is fed by a Meggitt Defense Systems automatic loading mechanism in the form of a vertical belt system located at the back of the turret. The bustle magazine carries 34 rounds. This way, the gun can fire 12 rounds per minute, can elevate to +10 degrees and depress to -3 degrees.
Additionally, the tank is armed with a remote-controlled Kongsberg Protector RS6 weapons station armed with 30mm M230LF autocannon (called XM914 in American service). The autocannon fires new universal anti-infantry XM1211 HEP air-burst ammunition (High Explosive Proximity – not to be confused with High Explosive Plastic, which is an American term for HESH). Additionally, this weapons station can be fitted with a Javelin launcher.
The turret is fitted with advanced optics, including two Safran PASEO panoramic camera sets (one for the gunner, one for the commander), both of which include:
Full HD camera
Thermal imager
Laser rangefinder (7km maximum range)
Automatic tracking systems
While the protection values of the vehicle are unknown, they are intended to be similar to the current generation Abrams (except for the turret, which – being unmanned – does not require so much armor). Additionally the vehicle is fitted with a Trophy hard-kill APS and can be fitted with various sensor upgrades as well as UAV/loitering ammunition launchers, AI control modules and more.
The demonstrator was unveiled in the October of 2022 during the AUSA expo in Washington DC as a vision of what a future generation Abrams could look like. There are currently no plans to adopt or mass-produce this vehicle but it does offer a glimpse into what could come in the 2030s after the SEP v4 Abrams.
In Armored Warfare, the AbramsX will be a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank.
Design-wise, the AbramsX will be a less-armored, lighter and faster alternative to the XM1A3 with it shares some of its systems. The unique ability will be the use of two weapons – the 120mm gun and the 30mm autocannon, both firing some rather special ammunition. But let’s take a look at this vehicle’s parameters in the usual order.
Right off the bat – the AbramsX is not fitted with any ERA or NERA. It’s just a classic (although durable) composite armor and steel. Its protection advantages will lie in the presence of the following elements:
Unmanned turret (takes reduced damage)
Armored crew capsule (crew takes reduced damage)
AN/VLQ-8A soft-kill APS (similar to that of the XM1A3)
Trophy hard-kill APS (similar to that of the XM1A3)
360 degrees smoke coverage
Its three-man crew is located in the hull (right behind the thickest armor). The turret will rotate rather fast (at 50 deg/s). The vehicle will also feature the Supercharged Hard-Kill APS ability.
Mobility-wise, we’re looking at a 49-ton vehicle powered by a 1630hp hybrid engine, which will offer excellent acceleration (0 to 32 km/h in 4.5s) as well as a decent maximum speed of 75 km/h (the reverse speed will be roughly 35 km/h). Off-road performance will also be good thanks to the vehicle’s excellent tracks.
And finally, there’s the firepower. The AbramsX will offer two weapon systems. The 120mm XM360 gun will be a standard tank cannon (no magazines, no ready rack) with the following values:
Reload time: 5.5s
Maximum elevation: +20
Maximum depression: -10
Ammo capacity: 60
It will fire the following ammunition types:
M829E4 APFSDS (830mm penetration, 600 damage)
XM1111 MRM-KE KEM (similar to the Griffin 120mm’s kinetic missile, 750mm to 880mm penetration and 580 to 680 damage, both increasing with the distance of the target)
You’ll also be able to switch to the (predominantly anti-infantry) 30mm autocannon, which will fire advanced HE ammunition at 350 rounds per minute. The ammunition will have increased penetration (60mm), splash (1m) and will allow for 5 points of non-penetrating damage per shot.

Pile of Gold Loot Crate
Between May 11 and May 18, 2023, the following items will be available:
Stridsvagn 2000
The Stridsvagn 2000 was to be Sweden’s next Main Battle Tank, designed to combat Soviet super-tanks such as the Black Eagle. For its time, the project was nothing short of revolutionary with extremely thick frontal armor and a powerful 140mm gun that could take on literally anything in its day. However, the Soviet threat dissipated with the collapse of the Soviet Union, which pushed Sweden to seek a cheaper solution to its tank problem, namely the Leopard 2 MBT. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Stridsvagn 2000 is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank that represents the essence of practicality. Solid armor, decent mobility and excellent damage over time output make this tank one of the most versatile tools you can have in your arsenal, equally capable in PvP and PvE. Aside from its advanced NERA armor, the Strv 2000 features a coaxial 40mm autocannon. The key to success is switching between both weapon systems and maximizing your damage output while your NERA armor eliminated one enemy shell after another.
The Stridsvagn 2000 MBT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
CV90120 Ghost
The CV90120 “Ghost” Light Tank was a Swedish demonstrator based on an earlier fire support model of the CV90120. As its name suggests, the vehicle is armed with 120mm smoothbore cannon but that’s the least interesting on its features. The Ghost is named after a special camouflage system called ADAPTIV that's capable of masking the bulky tank in the IR spectrum so well it disappears from enemy screens – like a ghost. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the CV90120 Ghost is a Tier 9 Premium Light Tank. Depending on your choices, it can be configured two ways – as a fast hit-and-run Light Tank using the combination of a Ready Rack and its excellent mobility, or as a stealthy sniper using the ADAPTIV system and the upgraded ammunition. While you won’t be as stealthy as dedicated Tank Destroyers or small AFVs, you’ll still be able to do a lot of damage from behind the safety of your lines.
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
CV90 Mk.IV
The Swedish CV90 Mk.IV IFV is the most modern version of the old but constantly developed CV90 platform. Since its introduction in the early 1990s, the vehicle was upgraded so much that this 2018 model bears little resemblance to the three decades old original, featuring cutting edge electronics as well as a brand new turret. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the CV90 Mk.IV is a Tier 8 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle. It is a durable and reliable infantry carrier capable not only of dealing tremendous damage with its 50mm autocannon, but of launching powerful Spike missiles as well. In addition to that, it’s relatively well-protected and can also carry Mechanized Infantry. What’s there not to like?
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
CV90105 TML
The CV90105 TML from the 1990s was one of the first attempts to convert the CV90 chassis into a fire support vehicle by combining it with a French TML turret. The result was a fairly capable Light Tank with considerable firepower in the form of its 105mm GIAT gun that could successfully take out most MBTs of its time. Unfortunately, the vehicle didn’t manage to attract any customers and remained a prototype only. You can learn more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the CV90105 TML is a Tier 7 Premium Light Tank. Depending on your choices, it can be configured two ways. You can opt for a more sustained firepower with the large 12-round clip – this way you need to stay behind your own team or hide in bushes, turning your Light Tank into something like a close support Tank Destroyer. Or, you can opt for the fun option of turning your CV90105 TML into a hit and run monster. Ambush an enemy, empty the magazine into his sides or rear and immediately retreat.
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
Swedish Bundle
Despite its neutrality, Sweden is one of the premiere arms manufacturers in the world and has a powerful standing army to boot. Even though the country is not a part of the NATO, much of its vehicle fleet is compatible with western tech and the country now operates the Leopard 2 MBT (under the name Stridsvagn 122) as well as several CV90 variants. This bundle includes several camouflages tied to Sweden as well as a special player title.
Swedish Urban camouflage (as seen on various CV90 prototypes)
Swedish Flag decal
Player title “Viking”
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
Finnish Bundle
Finland has a long and interesting history of unique relationships with its neighbors, especially with Russia. Its position of neutrality after the Second World War allowed it to buy the best from both worlds with both eastern and western vehicles used by its powerful military. This bundle includes a Finnish camouflage that will look great on your BMP-2s, T-72M1s and Leopards, a Finnish Armed Forces roundel decal as well as two player titles.
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
Norwegian Bundle
Unlike Sweden, Norway is a part of the NATO with its units regularly taking part in operations abroad. One of the elite units of the Norwegian military is the famous Telemark Battalion of Mechanized Infantry and this bundle includes two items tied to it as well as the Scandinavian camouflages used by Norway and a Norwegian base paint, as seen on a Telemark Leopard deployed to Estonia in 2017.
Clicking the link below will open the game’s launcher. Please select the Market option on the left and select Armored Warfare to access this offer.
Danish Bundle
And last but definitely not least, we have Denmark, the army equipped with some of the best military hardware there is, including the Leopard 2A7DK Main Battle Tank. Aside from its simple but unique camouflage, this bundle contains a Danish player title, the Scandinavian base paint and a decal.
Player title “Thrice-Hearted” (referring to the Holger Danske legend)

Please note that the maintenance can be extended beyond the abovementioned timeframe. We apologize for the inconvenience.
In Development: Artillery Overhaul
Commanders!
Today, we’d like to tell you more about our plans to change the Self-Propelled Gun class of vehicles that we’ll be implementing this summer.
To understand why these changes are needed, we have to go way back to the very beginning of Armored Warfare development where it was decided to bring indirect fire to the battlefield because, well, there are players who like this sort of thing – to sit in one position, point, click and... boom goes the enemy tank without any fear of retaliation.
Not that there aren’t such vehicles present in PvP even today – you can absolutely take your 122mm Buratino and trash a few MBTs by a stream of rockets. The difference is, driving a Buratino always puts you at risk of being immobilized or knocked out. In case of indirect-firing SPGs, there was no such danger in PvP except for occasional counter-battery fire where SPG players would target each other and trade shots across the map in a game of hide and seek.
The veterans of this game might remember the SPG class being repeatedly tweaked but the conclusion we came to was that no matter what we did, artillery in PvP was simply a failed concept that wouldn’t ever be fun. And so we restricted the class to PvE and left it there essentially unchanged except for an occasional change of high-explosive shells that led to its current, impotent state. Indeed, the SPGs are barely played these days (despite being one of five main classes in the game, only roughly 2.4 percent of Tier 9-10 matches are played with SPGs). We aim to change that.
And so, long story short, we’ll be making the following changes:
Artillery vehicles will be overhauled to fire directly
Afterwards, artillery will be allowed in all modes
This is not an unrealistic change – artillery has often been used this way in recent conflicts. There are, however, some challenges to this task. First of all, artillery generally lacks armor. Secondly, artillery typically cannot fire kinetic shells.
That is why we are planning to overhaul the current artillery vehicles into highly nimble and fast (roughly similar to Light Tanks of the same Tier), lightly-armored machines that will typically fire powerful HE and (newly added) HEAT shells. In other words, they’ll rely more on single shot damage than on their rate of fire.
They will retain their Smoke and White Phosphorus shells and will be able to switch quickly between this utility ammunition and damage-dealing rounds, but every ammunition type will use a direct fire aiming reticle similar to the current TOS-1M Buratino (with a flat, horizontal-oriented aiming circle instead of the classic tank one). The accuracy will, naturally, not be all that great and long-range fire will resemble bombardment rather than sniper shots. Lower calibers (122mm) will have a rate of fire advantage while higher calibers will focus more on damage. Additional shell types will also be available for various individual vehicles.
And that’s pretty much it. The last thing we’d like to mention are the Premium SPGs. There are only three in the game at the moment – two Abbots and Msta-S – which makes things easier. These will initially not be overhauled and will stay as they are (including their restriction to the PvE modes). After all, players purchased them the way they are now for a reason. We will monitor the post-release feedback and, if that will be the wish of their owners, we’ll change these too.
We hope that you’ll enjoy these changes and, as always:
See you on the battlefield!

MPF Light Tank
The General Dynamics Light Tank prototype is one of the contenders in the U.S. Mobile Protected Firepower program to replace the Stryker platform in the fire support role for the U.S. Airborne forces. It is one of very few modern Light Tanks in existence. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the MPF is a Tier 10 Premium Light Tank. Within its class, it’s one of the heaviest and the best protected specimen with its hull protected by NERA armor capable of absorbing damage in the initial stages of battle. With its powerful 120mm gun and decent mobility, it is a decent front-line fighter, holding its own even in the thickest of fighting.
The MPF Tier 10 Premium LT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.
Challenger 2 Streetfighter II
The Streetfighter II is an upgrade program to overhaul the venerable Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank for the conditions of modern battlefields, especially urban combat. It features a number of improvements and extra components, most notably a dozer blade, a Brimstone ATGM twin launcher and an advanced camera system by Elbit. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Challenger 2 Streetfighter is a Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank. Its main advantages include excellent frontal armor (enhanced by the presence of its dozer blade covering its lower frontal plate), increased ramming damage and long range lethality, courtesy of a powerful ATGM launcher. Whether you desire to bring the fighting up close or support other MBTs at distance, the Streetfighter’s got your back.

Bradley AAWS-H
The Bradley AAWS-H Tank Destroyer was an attempt by Loral Vought to mount four kinetic guided missiles on an extendable arm while using the Bradley IFV chassis as a platform. Kinetic missiles were cutting edge tech back in the 1980s – unlike standard ATGMs, they destroyed the target by their kinetic energy instead of a HEAT warhead, accelerating to several times the speed of sound. There was little to no defense against them, although they did have some drawbacks, which was why they were never adopted in real life. You can read more about the vehicle in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Bradley AAWS-H is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s an ATGM-based TD, carrying special kinetic missiles that actually become more effective with increasing distance to your target. It is the embodiment of a long-range missile carrier and is perfect for players who prefer sniping to close combat.

Stryker ADATS
ADATS stands for “Air Defense Anti-Tank System,” describing its purpose very well. The system is intended to engage both air and ground armored targets. It was developed in the 1980s by a Swiss company called Oerlikon-Contraves and was offered as an interesting hybrid that would be able to deal with both Soviet tanks and helicopters or attack planes. Unfortunately for it, it came too late – only Canada would actually accept it in service and the end of the Cold War meant the end to all attempts at its large-scale introduction. The ADATS missiles were quite large but, more importantly, extremely fast and were certain to be extremely destructive to any Soviet armored targets, even though this thankfully never had to be tested in real combat. The ADATS turret was offered for a wide variety of platforms and was actively installed on a vehicle that is kind of like a cousin to the Stryker, the Canadian LAV-III. In this configuration, the vehicle was called MMEV.
In Armored Warfare, Stryker ADATS is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It is a wheeled vehicle armed with two weapon systems – powerful long-range guided missiles and short-range unguided rockets, offering it some survivability in short range combat as well as the ability to deal tremendous damage if left to its devices.

M1A1 Storm
In 1985, the Abrams was upgraded with, amongst other things, the 120mm M256 smoothbore cannon. Over 5000 M1A1 tanks were produced until 1992. This tank participated in Operation Desert Storm, which forged its legendary reputation.
In Armored Warfare, the M1A1 Storm is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. The M1A1 Storm look was inspired by Operation Desert Storm, including a gorgeous camouflage net model. But, more importantly, this tank is equipped with a massive frontal dozer blade, adding extra armor and ramming damage to the long list of its advantages.

Leclerc T40
Sometimes called the French Terminator, this vehicle was designed on the Leclerc MBT chassis with one purpose in mind – to accompany tanks and fight off infantry attacks the same way as the Russian BMPT series does. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.
In Armored Warfare, the Leclerc T40 is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It offers you a combination of a durable hull, rapid-fire 40mm automatic cannon and, most importantly, the Javelin missile system. Simply right-click the target, wait until it becomes locket and fire the Javelin ATGM – it will home itself on the target, attacking its weak roof armor. Thanks to this ability, the Leclerc T40 is one of the most destructive vehicles in the game.

AMX-10 RCR
The AMX 10 RCR is the updated variant of the French AMX 10 RC fire support vehicle by GIAT, originally developed in the early 1980s. This light and nimble wheeled 6x6 AFV was armed with a 105mm gun, allowing it to knock out even armored targets at considerable distances. Over 200 of these aging vehicles were upgraded by Nexter in 2010 with improved armor and electronics, enabling them to fulfill modern battlefield tasks until their eventual replacement by the Jaguar. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!
In Armored Warfare, the AMX 10 RCR is a Tier 8 wheeled Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s incredibly agile with its wheeled chassis allowing it to outrun pretty much any enemy on the battlefield save for the fastest AFVs. Its gun accuracy is also top notch, making this vehicle perfect for sniper-style gameplay as its thin armor can’t protect it against enemy shells at close distances. This vehicle also comes with the Hydraulic Suspension active ability.
