General Changes

In Development: Assigning Premium Vehicles to Dealers

Commanders!

Armored Warfare features two types of vehicles – regular progression vehicles available for Experience and Credits, and Premium vehicles (with increased Credit income) that are available for Gold or by other means.

These other means include:

However, Armored Warfare currently has a problem you’ve been asking about for a while now. The Premium vehicles that are not available directly in the game for Gold are not assigned to any particular dealer, which means they cannot be used for various in-game missions that feature dealer requirements (these typically appear during Raids or Battle Paths).

In one of future updates, we want to remedy this situation and will therefore be assigning the previously dealer-less Premium vehicles to specific dealers as follows:

Sorted by Tier, descending order.

Marat Shishkin

Sophie Wölfli

Zhang Feng

Oscar Faraday

Francine De Laroche

Just to be clear, this does not mean they will all become available for Gold or become progression vehicles. They will retain their status; the only major change is that they will become available for missions with dealer requirements.

Do you feel some of these vehicles belong to other dealers? Let us know on Discord. We’re open to your feedback!

Please note:

And last but not least, let us discuss the new icon made specifically for the abovementioned vehicles as well as some changes to the existing vehicle class logic. Vehicle icon now consists of the following elements:

As such, a fully unlocked progression vehicle will feature a silver class symbol with a wreath. A vehicle available for Gold within the tech tree will feature a golden class symbol with a wreath and these special Premium vehicles not available for Gold will feature all three symbols together (golden class symbol, wreath and the silver star).

We hope that you’ll find this change to your liking and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

In Development: Carson City PvP Map

Commanders!

It’s been a while since we added a new PvP map, but the time has come to welcome another new battlefield in Armored Warfare – Carson City!

Despite its name, this charming small town knew little of true city bustle until a newly-built interstate highway skirted its territory. It became a major transportation hub practically overnight, attracting first the attention of major corporations and subsequently various armed groups eager to take control of it and with it the traffic flow from the east to the West Coast.

The bases on this map are located in the south-western and north-eastern corners and the whole Nevada-based map can be split into three areas.

The south-east is occupied by the Carson City itself. A labyrinth of streets awaits you with a lot of cover, but also some flanking opportunities. Is a group of MBTs holding a particular position? Go around the block in order to appear right behind them. Situational awareness will play a key role in this area because you’ll never know what awaits you around the corner.

Moving north, the center of the map is filled with a large lake with a small island in the middle of it. You can get there of course and if you do, you’ll be able to fire pretty much all across the map. This area will be suitable for fast vehicles such as Light Tanks and Tank Destroyers as the MBTs trying to go there or around the island will be slowed by the lake’s water significantly.

And last but not least, the north is walled off from the rest of the map by a group of cliffs, making the area a long, wide mountain corridor for heavily armored MBTs to push through. There’s also a narrow path leading around the lake to the north where lighter, smaller vehicles can slip through.

This map will be available in the Standard mode (two bases) as well as the Encounter mode. In the Encounter mode, a single base will be located on the island in the middle.

We hope that you will enjoy the map and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Offer: Warsaw Pact Week

Commanders!

The Wars of the Past Battle Path is coming in the near future and with it several vehicles from former Warsaw Pact countries, including the T-72M4CZ and the TR-85M1. In this offer, we’ve prepared several special bundles for you with some items that will make them (as well as other vehicles in the game) look even better:

Between December 2 and December 9, 2021, the following items will be available:

Czech Bundle

Three decades after the fall of the Soviet Union, the Czech Republic is a NATO country with its own rather unique set of military vehicles including the T-72M4CZ MBT, the T-72M1 as well as the older BMP series of infantry fighting vehicles. Armored Warfare contains multiple Czech vehicles and this bundle is perfect for anyone looking to improve their appearance.

The bundle consists of:

Slovak Bundle

Slovakia, the Czech Republic’s eastern sibling, has a small but relatively potent military with several, typically older, armored vehicle types. After the 1993 split from Czechoslovakia, it went its own way. Even today, its long tradition of armor manufacturing allows it to develop new armor types – mostly artillery pieces.

The bundle consists of:

Czechoslovak Bundle

Before its 1993 split, Czechoslovakia was an industrial powerhouse. Founded in 1918, it inherited much of the former Austro-Hungarian industrial base and quickly became a prominent arms manufacturer and exporter. During the Second World War, many quality weapons used by Germany were manufactured in the Protectorate and the heavy industry tradition prevailed until 1989 with thousands of tanks and tens of thousands of other armored vehicles built for the Warsaw Pact.

The bundle consists of:

Romanian Bundle

Romania has never been known for its industrial base, but its military prowess and the bravery of its troops has always been beyond any doubt. Despite its rather poor armament, the Army of Romania remains a stalwart defender of the NATO’s south-east border.

The bundle consists of:

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

Offer: American Firepower

Commanders!

Today we’ve prepared the following items for you:

Between December 2 and December 9, 2021, the following items will be available:

MPF Light Tank

The General Dynamics Light Tank prototype is one of the contenders in the U.S. Mobile Protected Firepower program to replace the Stryker platform in the fire support role for the U.S. Airborne forces. It is one of very few modern Light Tanks in existence. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the MPF is a Tier 10 Premium Light Tank. Within its class, it’s one of the heaviest and the best protected specimen with its hull protected by NERA armor capable of absorbing damage in the initial stages of battle. With its powerful 120mm gun and decent mobility, it is a decent front-line fighter, holding its own even in the thickest of fighting.

The MPF Tier 10 Premium LT is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.

Griffin 120mm

The Armored Warfare version of the Griffin Light Tank is based on an early 2016 tech demonstrator, intended to show the U.S. military during the AUSA 2016 conference that General Dynamics meant business. It was built as a private venture; effectively a scaled-up example of General Dynamics was capable of providing when it came to highly mobile vehicles with a lot of firepower for the U.S. airborne forces. The U.S. Army was impressed and the design has since evolved into what is generally referred to as the MPF Light Tank. You can read more about this vehicle in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Griffin 120mm is a Tier 8 Premium Light Tank and a powerful, fast machine, armed not only with its 120mm cannon, but also with special ammunition types, making it deadly at any distance. Few Tier 9 vehicles can match its sheer ferocity on the battlefield.

Warhammer Skin for M1A2

This skin for the M1A2 Tier 8 progression Main Battle Tank is based on the real American Abrams tanks, which were seen and photographed during the Iraq War. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

This skin is available in a bundle along with the following items:

Please note that the bundle includes the skin but not the M1A2 MBT itself. This tank needs to be obtained via progression directly in the game.

MERDC Camouflages

The MERDC camouflages are based on the patterns from the 1970s, when the U.S. Mobility Equipment Research & Design Command (MERDC) developed a system for camouflaging armored vehicles. You can read more about these patterns in our dedicated article.

There are seven patterns available:

All seven are available in a discounted bundle. Each of these camouflages can be installed on any vehicle that has the camouflage customization feature available. These camouflages can be used in all three environments.

Bradley AAWS-H

The Bradley AAWS-H Tank Destroyer was an attempt by Loral Vought to mount four kinetic guided missiles on an extendable arm while using the Bradley IFV chassis as a platform. Kinetic missiles were cutting edge tech back in the 1980s – unlike standard ATGMs, they destroyed the target by their kinetic energy instead of a HEAT warhead, accelerating to several times the speed of sound. There was little to no defense against them, although they did have some drawbacks, which was why they were never adopted in real life. You can read more about the vehicle in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the Bradley AAWS-H is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s an ATGM-based TD, carrying special kinetic missiles that actually become more effective with increasing distance to your target. It is the embodiment of a long-range missile carrier and is perfect for players who prefer sniping to close combat.

Stryker ADATS

ADATS stands for “Air Defense Anti-Tank System,” describing its purpose very well. The system is intended to engage both air and ground armored targets. It was developed in the 1980s by a Swiss company called Oerlikon-Contraves and was offered as an interesting hybrid that would be able to deal with both Soviet tanks and helicopters or attack planes. Unfortunately for it, it came too late – only Canada would actually accept it in service and the end of the Cold War meant the end to all attempts at its large-scale introduction. The ADATS missiles were quite large but, more importantly, extremely fast and were certain to be extremely destructive to any Soviet armored targets, even though this thankfully never had to be tested in real combat. The ADATS turret was offered for a wide variety of platforms and was actively installed on a vehicle that is kind of like a cousin to the Stryker, the Canadian LAV-III. In this configuration, the vehicle was called MMEV.

In Armored Warfare, Stryker ADATS is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It is a wheeled vehicle armed with two weapon systems – powerful long-range guided missiles and short-range unguided rockets, offering it some survivability in short range combat as well as the ability to deal tremendous damage if left to its devices.

M1A1 Storm with Desert Storm bundle

In 1985, the Abrams was upgraded with, amongst other things, the 120mm M256 smoothbore cannon. Over 5000 M1A1 tanks were produced until 1992. This tank participated in Operation Desert Storm, which forged its legendary reputation.

In Armored Warfare, the M1A1 Storm is a Tier 7 Premium Main Battle Tank. The M1A1 Storm look was inspired by Operation Desert Storm, including a gorgeous camouflage net model. But, more importantly, this tank is equipped with a massive frontal dozer blade, adding extra armor and ramming damage to the long list of its advantages.

This vehicle is also available in the Desert Storm Bundle. As its name suggests, the bundle contains several Operation Desert Storm and War in Iraq-related items, including:

Exodus Treasure Trove

Today, we have a special offer for you. A veritable treasure trove of 10.000 Gold awaits you at a discounted price.

Please note that this item can only be purchased once per user. You can find out more about Gold and its uses in our dedicated article.

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

Historical Camouflages – Romanian

Commanders!

The recently unveiled TR-85M1 MBT that’s coming as a part of the Wars of the Past Battle Path would go very nicely with the next historical camouflage we want to tell you about – the Romanian camouflage.

A TR-85M1 with this attractive camouflage was seen several times during various events such as a military parade in Bucharest. It’s unclear whether this is some sort of official pattern or a one-off paintjob intended to bring attention to the military, which – due to its chronic underfunding – is sorely needed. It consists of a dark green color with black, white and brown spray-painted spots.

The camouflage will be available along with some other Romanian-themed assets such as the roundel used on the TR-85M1 tanks.

We hope that you’ll enjoy it and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
