Arrival: Zero Earth

Sign-up for the upcoming Playtest!

Things are moving forward with ARRIVAL: ZERO EARTH!

After the Steam Next Fest demo I've been busy working on new features and fixes for ARRIVAL: ZERO EARTH!

My current plan is to make the Playtest available within a month or two.

The playtest will have everything I have added to the game and has new stuff compare to the demo.

I'm planning to run the playtest until the actual game will eventually be released. I will probably hide the demo once the playtest goes live, unless the demo is needed for any Steam festival.

The downside of the playtest is that if you play it immediately before the actual release, the released version will have everything you have had already access to in playtest.

Hopefully I will get great feedback again from the playtest (thanks again for the great demo-feedback btw!) and hopefully I have time to fix if any major issues are reported.

Once the game is actually released and you are able to buy it, I'm planning to end the playtest.

New stuff available in Playtest

  • Improved graphics
  • Three new enemies
  • New units
  • New items
  • Easier to see where you units are, when the chaos is happening around you
  • Other features and quality-of-life updates

There will be more updates once the playtest goes live. I hope I'm able to add as many suggestions received from demo feedback (and from the playtest feedback once it launches).

Sign-up!

Head over to https://store.steampowered.com/app/1613580/ARRIVAL_ZERO_EARTH/ to signup for the playtest. I think Steam will send an e-mail once I start the playtest (within a month or two)

A side note: I've also added a newsletter that you can sign-up to if you want to receive all the updates immediately. You don't need to signup for the newsletter, to participate in the Playtest (just click the green button on the Steam page).

Plans For The Future

Hello all!

Now that the Steam Next Fest is long over I thought I would write a small status update on what's happening with ARRIVAL: ZERO EARTH!

I think Steam Next Fest went pretty well for the game, in terms of how many of you played the demo and wishlisted the game! I also got lucky that some of my favorite Youtube streamers played the game. It's surreal (and panic inducing) feeling when somebody who's videos you have watched for years, plays your game!

So far over 1400 people have played the demo and over 100 have sent feedback via the form. I appreciate every feedback sent, it's extremely helpful to have some insight what you think about the game! It was also a relief to see that a lot of you are excited about the game!

Now that the Steam Next Fest is done, I've started to add more content to the game (I'm currently working on adding more unit types).

Future Plans

At some point I'll probably have a some kind of limited Steam Playtest for anyone who is interested, which will contain everything the game has at that moment and after that I'll add some of that stuff to the new demo.

I don't know yet when the new Playtest or the Demo will be available, but I'll write an update when I'm closer to that date.

In terms of actual release, I don't want to make any specific promises, since plans will always change, but the release might happen somewhere next year (2022), I don't know yet if the release will be an Early Access or not.

I'll try to write mode updates like these, when I have more to tell!

Thanks again everyone for playing the demo!

Steam Next Fest Demo Released (FOUR WEEKS ahead of time!)

OH HI!

My original plan was to release the demo on October 1st 2021 (when the Steam Next Fest begins), but yesterday I learned that the demo should be up about two weeks before the Next Fest, so that the press can take a look at it beforehand.

Not sure if the press will actually notice my demo, since there are about 900 other demos on the Steam Next Fest, but hopefully now I'm able get some downloads for the demo before the Steam Next date, since I assume the more downloads the demo has, the more it will show also on the Steam Next Fest page.

So anyhow, I decided to make the demo public now.

For those who have been participating in the playtest, I hid the playtest build from the Steam page. The demo is pretty much the same as the latest playtest build.

In hindsight I probably could have / should have released the demo wayyyyyyy before, but you kind of learn these things while doing them!

Thanks for all the playtesters who has been testing the playtest version!
