How is your Bandit deck looking? You should spend some time on it. For this battle, you can only bring Bandit character cards. Nothing else!
ADJUTANT DIRK’S FIGHT
Adjutant Dirk poses a unique challenge, as you’re limited to a deck you will not have used much yet. You’ll have just enough Bandit cards to fill out a deck, but you may not like them all! Make sure to win some of the other battles first; there are several that reward the cards you need for a normal win, as well as support cards that make your life a whole lot easier for completing the optional challenges.
Aside from being forced to use the Bandit deck, Adjutant Dirk’s battle has a couple more mechanics you’ll need to overcome. First off, archers are placed on either side of the battlefield that will shoot at random units, both yours and the enemy’s. As they’re not on the battlefield, you cannot take them out. They don’t do a lot of damage, but they completely ignore armor and get to shoot after every turn. The damage does start to stack up, so you don’t want to stand around too much. These archers get a +2 damage buff the first time you deal damage to the enemy commander, so make sure to take him out quickly after your initial hit!
If you want the Vile Blow support card that’s up for grabs, make sure to use four or more spell support cards before you off your foe!
CHALLENGER BATTLE
If you managed to overcome the base challenge, there clearly weren’t enough archers! In the challenger battle, the enemy uses ranged units only. This may not sound difficult at first, but with the Archers’ ability to push back your units, this really slows down the battle and thus gives the archers on the outskirts more time to deal consistent damage! To add to this, when you damage the commander for the first time, the archers get the damage buff. Furthermore, all your units are pushed back as far as possible.
Two crates are placed on the foe’s side of the battlefield. Since this battlefield is only three spaces wide, this leaves two spaces for Adjutant Dirk to place archers behind and only one space for you to get close to the commander. Not only are his archers safe from melee characters, you are very limited in how much you can damage the commander each turn!
To add even further to your woes, the commander has a lot more health than in the base battle, and you have to finish the battle with 25 health remaining on your own commander! As the Bandit deck doesn’t get any healer or mage character cards, you’re very limited in the spells you can cast. The spells you do have access to cost health points to cast and you only have 10 health to lose. That’s only about two to three spells or one full heal from Milten the Monk!
To prepare for this battle, you have a couple of ways to go about it. To name two, you can try to outheal the damage the archers deal or maybe fill the battlefield with Bandits to overrun them. The choice is yours!
And that’s that! We have some very exciting stuff to share this month, so be sure to stop by our Discord server!

The end of the Ash of Gods: The Way demo - last chance to play!
Hello friends!
The free demo of Ash of Gods: The Way will be going offline on February 1st. This means you’ll have a little under a week remaining to give the game a shot and give us your feedback!
It’s not all bad news however. February will be a month with exciting announcements and all-new previews of what we’ve been working on. One of the biggest additions will massively improve the way you experience the story of Ash of Gods: The Way! Be sure to keep an eye on our socials.
The best defense is a good offense, but in this case, you really need some defense.
MIRINA’S QUALIFICATION
In one of Mirina’s Qualifications, you’ll face The Punisher; a powerful character with a whopping 85 health and 20 armor. He also has the ability to defeat your commander in just one hit! You’ll struggle to cut through him without stacking a lot of damage boosts on one character or breaking all his armor. But what if you don’t actually need to cut through him?
While he seems dangerous, he cannot move sideways. This means he’s easily blocked by another character. The Punisher also doesn’t do a whole lot of damage, and the opponent has no way of amplifying it. I wonder if there’s a way to completely negate his damage and outlast him forever?
While The Punisher is your main threat, the enemy has more than just him in his deck. You’ll have to deal with a handful of other characters who are hunting down your Commander. Dispose of them, keep The Punisher busy and end your foe!
Want to get your hands on a Field Equipment card that gives you two random support cards at the cost of some health? Make sure to use four or more item support cards during the battle and it’s all yours.
CHALLENGER BATTLE
Haven’t had your fill of being punished? We won’t judge. In this extra difficult version of this fight, The Punisher is supported by the archers right behind him. You won’t be able to get to them without cutting through The Punisher himself. These archers are also unable to move between lanes, which makes them easy to block
In addition, the enemy will have a lot more cards available to use. He has some powerful combinations at his disposal that can quickly spiral out of control if you don’t deal with the threats ASAP.
As a final challenge, you won’t be allowed to use Shooter type characters. No Ranger, no Rogue, no Skovos!
That’s it for now! You can still play the Ash of Gods: The Way demo and this very battle right now, totally for free! Download the demo below and let us know how you feel about the game on our Discord server!

Need to blow off some steam? You’re in luck, as there’s an entire horde of bandits ready to be cut down!
ADJUTANT DOFUS’ FIGHT
In this battle, you’ll have to face off against a whole bunch of bandits blocking the way to the enemy Commander. In fact, the majority of the battlefield has been occupied by bandits! You’ll have to create more breathing room for yourself to not get overwhelmed. You won’t have to worry about enemy reinforcements though, as the enemy Commander does not have any other card in his deck.
The Bandits start off with low stats; you can defeat one with a single hit from most of your units. However, some of the bandits in the group have the special ability to buff their fellow bandits upon their death; all remaining bandits will gain 2 attack and 2 health.
A lot of the usual strategies in other battles will work, but a strong frontline is really important here. As a bonus tip, treat yourself to a card with retaliation!
CHALLENGER BATTLE
Once you’re finished with your qualification battles, you’ll be able to challenge an even bigger horde! In the Challenger Battle, there are more Murderers on the field; those bandits who buff their allies upon death.
Unlike the normal version of the fight, the enemy has additional cards to play. You’ll have to keep up with him summoning new bandits to not get overrun! The win condition for this battle requires you to have at least three of your warriors alive when you defeat the enemy commander. Your deck only has ten cards, so you’ll need to use your deck to the fullest to survive the onslaught!

Again, happy New Year! We’re back from our holiday week, completely refreshed and re-energized to finalize Ash of Gods: The Way. Keep an eye on the Steam community and our social media to stay up to date with developments, because we will have a lot to share leading up to the release!
For now though, we’d like to take you through another one of the battles you will come across, or already experienced yourself in the gameplay demo!
ADJUTANT THORK’S FIGHT
By the time you get to this battle, you’ve probably grown accustomed to being limited to one character card and one support card each turn. Well, it’s time to switch it up! Throughout this fight, you’ll have two character cards and two support cards to use each turn! To make sure this battle does not end in a quick, anticlimactic conclusion, all the cards in your deck have been doubled as well. Only took one Monk with you? Guess what, you now have two. Additionally, your opponent starts with six characters on the field already.
A lot of space is required to house all these characters, so you’ll fight on a large open field with a handful of obstacles. These barrels will provide cover for your ranged units and the flanks of your warriors, but are ultimately a double-edged sword. Your opponent will be able to make use of them as well!
This battle is a great opportunity to explore the Bandit deck if you haven’t already. As fighting in large numbers empowers Bandits, their deck is a natural fit for this battle!
CHALLENGER BATTLE
If all that isn’t enough, we have an extra challenge for you! In the Challenger Battler, you have to find your way around many more obstacles that populate the field. While this may provide excellent cover for your units, it also really slows down the flow of battle and limits your options for outplaying the enemy. You won’t be able to move more than one unit sideways in a turn either!
To make things even worse, you have to finish this battle in a mere ten turns to come out victorious. Time is of the essence!

It's finally Christmas time and we here at AurumDust wish all of you very joyful holidays and a hopeful 2023. We want to thank you for being with us all this time, for your support and help, we really appreciate it. We wish you a plenty of nice moments and the most wonderful games! Cheers!
While most battles require teamwork and cunning strategies to succeed, this one requires you to simply beat your foe into a pulp.
Before you can challenge Adjutant Skol, you’ll have to get through the qualification. This one is very different from the ones you’ve won so far, as it plays out in a series of one-on-one duels. You can’t move around your characters; once you place them, you better make sure they’re ready to brawl.
PREPARATIONS
You’ll do well to prepare for this battle specifically. If your current deck relies on support characters or outlasting the enemy, you’ll struggle to win in one-on-one fights. A monk won’t be able to heal or defend himself, so a duel would be a nightmare situation. An archer relies on range to stay alive, and won’t be able to tackle an opponent head on.
Instead, build your deck for a strong frontline: survivable characters that can take a hit and hit hard themselves. Use your armor and health to tank a hit or overpower your foe with sheer damage before your opponent even gets a chance to do anything in return. Equip your characters with cards that quickly buff the stats of your units instead of ones that take a while to get going.
LET’S FIGHT!
Now that you’re all set up, let’s get to dueling! The battle will consist of several one-on-one fights in three rows. Every battle won will damage the enemy Commander by 15 points, while every battle lost will damage yours by the same amount. New enemies will appear and will need to be challenged when duels are finished. Whoever knocks out the other Commander first comes out victorious!
You start with five character cards and five support cards right away to give you more initial options to pick from. You’ll have to select three characters to start your duels with, starting with the leftmost duel. After having determined all three duel matchups, you can select two support cards to use or give to any of your warriors. Keep in mind though: if one of your characters wins their duel, they will leave the battlefield and cannot be resummoned. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket!
Want to enhance your Bandit deck and get your hands on the bonus card for this battle? Make sure you win this battle with more than 10 Commander HP remaining!
DIFFICULTY UP
Too easy for you? Once you’ve won every battle in the tournament, you can choose to attempt the extra challenging version for an extra reward. This time though, the enemy gets to move first and their Commander has way more health! You’ll need to come out victorious with at least 5 health remaining on your Commander. Do so, and you’ll get a Secret Charm card that provides one of your Bandit cards with a protective barrier that negates all incoming damage for one hit. Neat!
That’s all for now! Remember, you can play Ash of Gods: The Way and this exact battle right now, for free! Download the demo below and let us know what you think about the game on our Discord server!
Like what you see? Consider adding Ash of Gods: The Way to your wishlist and following the game to stay up-to-date with the newest developments!
On your journey in Ash of Gods: The Way, you’ll come across many different cards from multiple different decks. Every single one has its niche use: some provide ranged support, others break your enemy’s armor, buff your troops or simply stand around to take damage. However, it’s not as straightforward as you may think. Today, we’d like to talk about card upgrades!
What are card upgrades?
Card upgrades are quite self-explanatory. Every card you get can be upgraded to better suit your needs. The upgrades to pick from depend on the card you’re trying to upgrade; they all feature a unique upgrade tree with a number of mutually exclusive upgrades.
These upgrades can either bolster the card’s strength or change the way it plays entirely. From straight up damage or health upgrades to the ability to regenerate health each turn or break the opponent’s armor, there’s a lot of diversity and potential builds to be played around with.
And these are just character cards! Support cards, the ones you can use to cast a spell or give to a character to make them stronger, also have their own linear upgrade tree. While the upgrades may be more limited than those of the character cards, they will still elevate the power of the card to new levels, often more than doubling or even tripling its power when maxed out. Whether you want to boost the damage they deal, health they provide or counteract the downsides of the card, there’s a lot of room here to make your deck truly fit your needs.
The where & the how
It takes a bit of time before you’ll unlock card upgrades. If you don’t see the upgrade buttons yet, be sure to progress through the story! You’ll be able to upgrade your card in the Deck Manager, your one-stop-shop for all your deck building business. Once unlocked, you’ll see the button below the cards in the blue “My Deck” section.
Both character and support cards require resources to upgrade. For the former, you’ll need experience points for that character’s faction. The latter will need gold instead! Both experience and gold are obtained simply by winning battles. You’ll be able to see the reward you’ll get in the battle’s briefing screen!
You won’t have to worry about spending your hard earned experience and gold either. If you ever mess up or feel the need to switch, when preparing for a battle and simply wanting to try something different for example, you can simply reset your upgrades at no cost!
That’s all there is to it! We highly recommend trying out different characters, upgrades and decks. There’s a lot to customize, and some builds will work better for a specific battle than others! Craft the perfect build for your playstyle, or challenge yourself by trying something new!

While many battles introduce new mechanics to change up how the battle plays out, sometimes it’s the location that seriously changes the game.
So how about an old, narrow and probably extremely unsafe bridge? Obviously, the best place for a battle!*
*AurumDust is not liable for any workplace accidents due to neglected bridge repairs, proceed at own risk.
ON A NARROW BRIDGE
The bridge itself proves to be a challenge on its own; you’ll have to improvise, adapt and overcome its narrow size. You only have two rows to place your units, so you have no choice but to face your foe head-on. The Commanders also stand a lot closer to each other, with the enemy Commander standing one cell closer to the middle than you. He’ll have new units on the front quicker than you will!
Your foe’s support deck only consists of charms. His units will be fully protected from damage for one hit. After that initial hit though, it’s as if they never had an item to begin with. Use your smarts to play around these charms, and your opponent may have been better off bringing a little more diversity to the fight!
Want the extra reward? Complete this challenge without using any spell cards. Stock up on equipable support items before you go!
AN EXTRA CHALLENGE
To crank up the difficulty, your enemy gets a way stronger character deck to use. Be prepared to face large numbers of Berkana’s finest! You’re also not allowed to bring any ‘Shooter’ type characters; leave your Rangers at home and bring an extra Crusher or two.
Managed to break through the elites and slay the enemy Commander? You get a Spear of the Victor card for your victory, giving any character you hand it to one extra attack point and the ability to retaliate an attack from any opponent in range.
Piqued your interest? You’ll be able to play a demo of Ash of Gods: The Way on December 8th! Follow the game on Steam to get notified of new developments, and wishlist the game to support us!
